Should Kronwall have to answer the bell for his hits?
evilzyme replied to Red Wings Addict's topic in General
i completely disagree with eliminating fighting in the sense that it would cause more harm. it would give everyone a free pass to go play dirty, go throw a hard ass hit folding a top 3 skater. then what? we just scream, "hey! stop that please!" fighting has a place and time in hockey, unfortunately thats what's changed over the generations. everyone looks to fight when its not needed. -
Sorry it's taken me long to find the articles, but here's the thread on HFB http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/showthread.php?t=1191783

I remember his interview when he talks about his mothers death and everything, really sad interview and a great inside look at who pasha really is, anyways.. in that interview he stated that he doesn't want to play til he's 40 and he didn't want to finish his career in the NHL. That being said, he also says the normal I love this place and what not. I couldn't see him being moved to any other team or sporting another teams sweater, but i certainly could see him playing out his remaining "hockey years" in the motherland. Would I be upset? Absolutely, it would break my heart just like I cried like a little baby during Stevie Y's ceremony and Nicky's. Would I disown him? Absolutely not, nothing but respect.

I think LA is the only recent time I remember him not getting his normal boo's during the receiving of the cup. Basically everyone just hates the jackoff.
-
If the yotes only want him for 2 years and that's all they're budging then he's more than gone from the franchise. He gave them every chance to come to terms with him inorder for him to stay with the franchise and you gotta respect that. He has given his heart, blood, and tears (we've seen it first hand once we pop em out of the posties) for the city and their franchise including postponing his timelines for other teams. All he wanted was some confidence that the franchise wasn't going to be relocated after this year, and a multi-year deal inwhich they should be all over especially with the lost of Whitney. Can't say he didn't give them every chance to remain on their roster and wear the sweater once again, but all signs now point that he will be leaving and most likely going to Vancouver. I only say Vancouver because he has personal ties there, and has brought his wife to most of the secondary meetings with the franchise (not saying most agents don't bring their S/O with them to meetings, or that it's a surefire thing because we've seen it in the past and them not signing).

almost positive that was all media hype and proved wrong by the franchise after they were eliminated. even trotz came out and admitted it was over curfew not that long and due to a meal. hfboards blew up because it wasnt a good enough reason to bench them. it was good times
-
It came out after the playoffs that him and radulov were out past midnight by a few minutes and missed curfew because they were getting a late night meal (hey, who doesn't want to carb up?) at the hotel. The hotel they were staying out was also alcohol-free. Bunch of bad media and rumors about all of that.

The demo's always are a train wreck and should never imply how the game is going to be. Each year the demo's are absolute trash and you can pull the same shots, and then the final product comes out and its alittle better. I hope rammer didn't manage to screw this years game up also, but there's always going to be the cheese shots. It seems like you'll beable to rip shortside once again in this game once you see the goalie cheating.

this seriously makes me so frickin upset.

You obviously haven't watched the Red Wings very long, I know this because of your statement right there. Eaves is one of the few select right handed shots on this team, inwhich case he is also one of our best PK'ers. Miller has shown, has the experience, and will beat Emmerton on the depth charts anyday of the week and twice on sunday, triple if its a midday game.

Realistically, 0% is what it stands at with our current forward group. You obviously don't understand how things work in the NHL. Explain to me how he would be gone by now. Please elaborate in exactly how the hell he would be gone with the insane amount of movement going on in the NHL right now? Oh that's right, because we're in the middle of CBA negotiations and nothing is happening until it is finalized. You're so oblivious its uncanny. He will strive elsewhere but he has no space in Detroit right now. We couldn't waive him down to GR last season and that's exactly why he played that many games. His ice-time went down and the organization basically had no faith in him. Babcock had to use him as a player, otherwise we were going to lose on trade value. Noone says "God, emmerton is so god awful", it's more like "God, we have no use for this player and he doesn't have a spot in the big show right now". I'm not even sure why you're so obsessed with him. Are you related to him? Was I right earlier when I called you Cory? The facts are there and you can go check his icetime log. I wish him the best and know he'll develop better with another organization, unfortunately it's just not with Detroit.

Flyers, Simmonds Agree to Six-Year Contract Extension.

Don't worry, he'll just trade em away! -
Never seen this beaut, but my god he's a big boy. Insane to see that weight on skates....

TheAxe is that you Emmerton? rofl. Dude, we understand you love the kid but don't let it fog your vision. He is not ahead of Miller and Eaves in the depth chart, to even comprehend that is uncanny. If anything he's going to get packaged for the D man Holland is looking for after the CBA is announced because we can't afford to lose him strictly off waivers and he isn't good enough to crack the lineup this year. Emmerton has wheels, but he certainly isn't the fastest prospect. Just let me ask you this, in your honest opinion you're going to tell me that you would rather dress Emmerton over Eaves who is one of our best PK'ers and right handed shots?
-
Because other teams have a need and could use him better than we could. You don't drop one of your prospects to waivers for no return value, especially when you know they wouldn't pass through waivers... it's a pretty simple logic here.
-
no. emmerton saw that many games due that we would lose him on waivers for no value. you're not going to put a player you know that won't clear waivers like that. thats why he played that many games otherwise he'd be on the griffs in a second.

I hope Jimmy improves once again, and Gusto proves to make them a great tandem. Hopefully a more rested Jimmy will help us, and fighting for his job will prove to be a great motivator. I think Nyquist will meet expectations and will earn full time in the big show, Brunner will be a bonified 3rd liner with helmer and they will destroy on the forecheck together with their speed and Brun's finishing touch. Smith will have defensive lapses and it will be understanding due to his play style, but he will only learn with experience when he can pinch. He will produce like expected though and I see him rolling in the Calder race.

Because everyone else was saying "he must be that FRKing ____________________."

Yeah... about that... it's been done... like a month ago.

I would if he wasn't over 35. He has a very big piece that not many can bring to teams, and that's heart. The man is a captain's captain. He knows how to motivate and ignite a team (cue the 1st round exit jokes). We'll find out what is his true motivation though. If he signs with a team big money style, we know he didn't care about a cup. If he takes a smaller contract inorder to go to a contender in hopes of finishing his career with a cup under his belt, we know he just wanted a cup win. He can bring a lot to the table, but unfortunately a multi-year year at that much for a player his age is just downright outrageous. I think this is all a big show in order to get him a big contract with Phx though.
