Report: Alain Vigneault confirms Roberto Luongo wants to leave Canucks
evilzyme replied to Hockey13Playa's topic in General
Well that doesn't sound right at all. We knew at the end of the season that Luongo said he was willing to leave Vancouver and would allow to give up his clause. Now, he's saying that he actually wants OUT of Vancouver. Which is a bit different. We could've guessed what was going to happen, but originally it was about Luo giving up his NTC and saying he would be willing to leave Vancouver if that was what they wanted. -
Fans all over the arena, "Why are they throwing hats on the ice?!"

Best part is Z smirking.

I just love quicks style. I love how he spiders down and excels up when people screen and try to go high. God you cant help but love the kid, except for when he straight stones us on 48 shots and we lose. Then i hate him for the night and a few hours into the morning. Bastard.

Puck daddy has a good article out about it. Pretty much sums it up. I was a bit surprised bit not really. Dale isnt going to put up with Ovis ego over a 82 game season.

Awesome, hopefully we'll see some outstanding plays by Tomas Jurco!~

PHX/LAK: 4-2 NYR/NJD: 4-3 rofl my bad, i seriously didn't even know the games started tonight. thought it was tomorrow. BAH.
-
That was the picture on the back of their t-shirts, rofl. I'm all down with the kid sippin em back if he can maintain a good personality. He sounds like an absolute ****** and a half though, lifting up chicks glasses and saying 'ehhh not good enough'. It just seems like he can't drink in public, or needs a babysitter while doing so.

"Ya killin me smalls!" - Chick on the left

Did you just call Erik Karlsson the real deal? He can throw up numbers as a defensemen, but he can't play defense worth a s***. Luckily, the sens gave him the oms domas and he's allowed to pinch and flow where he wants.

Seriously though, does someone care to explain what was so bad about my original post?

I'm sorry but Yemelin dove like it was frickin Olympic diving. They didn't deserve either penalty that tied the game at 3-3. I would most likely get frustrated if they were calling obvious diving calls like that. The game was an absolute gongshow.

Really? I could've sworn i've heard cases of permission being asked to start talks with players/agents early. Thanks for all the clearing up for me though!
-
Okay, that makes absolute sense to me. So practically, they're trading his contract to another team, which will still expire on July 1st but this will hopefully give them a better chance at signing him directly because they "own" him. Right? I guess I can take a crash course on trading in the league, never a big aspect for me knowledge wise. Now, can you ask permission to speak with a member of a team. Like, Holland couldn't speak with him, unless he asked for permission right? But if he were to get permission, he could start contract talks earlier than July 1st. But basically, teams rarely do this because it prevents them from getting something in return? Teach me. I do remember Kenny coming out last season about it though, due to it strictly being a risk.

I think this would be the most beneficial to the league with the remaining teams. Both huge cities that would bring celebrities to the games and media attention to them, which exposes the league more. At the same time, both of these teams play a defensively sound game and there most likely wouldn't be too many chances, on top of two stacked goalies. This could lead to horrible exposure and give people the wrong impression of the game of hockey, as they would most likely find it boring. It's a double edged sword really. -
What's just insane to me is that not even that long ago he said how much he absolutely adored Philly and would never regret coming to them. He stated on his blog that the ice time he was receiving was absolutely nothing to him and he didn't mind. Now? Now, he's pissed and wants to find an organization that will feed him the minutes he wants. Okay man... you're about bat s*** crazy Jagr. So hypocritical. "I mean, I don't get the big deal about Sidney Crosby" continues to talk about Crosby for the next 20 pages. Dude's a hot mess.

Well people assume because for the most part, overripping is what Kenny Holland loves. Our development will push players to become mistake free before they try to come into the NHL. We want maturity, and poise. Look at Brendan Smith, any team would easily play him as an NHL'er right now. The Red Wings though, we say he still has flaws in his play and likes to take risks, so that outweighs the potential of his size and production. A lot of franchises will push their minor players into their system trying to make their team better, Detroit will wait it out and make sure the timing is right. Unfortunately, in the case of Brendan Smith, I think his experience from the AHL is coming to an end and will only reach the next level while playing it full time.

Well, as much as Bryz just straight up sucked it in the first round with MAF, he did keep them in games in the second round. Philly needs to realize they have some giant holes in their defense and they can't expect their tendy to always be there to save your ass. Now, I understand he has a beautiful contract and is paid to be that guy, but history says he will never be that guy. I'm not even sure why and how Philly thought Bryz was going to be an all-star goalie by just coming to Philly. Holmgren is absolutely right though, he should focus on play more than just making retarded comments. The media is half to blame though, they've been down his throat trying to get the funny quotes from him. The guy is barely more advanced than Pasha when talking to the American media. **edit** someone care to explain how the hell this got neg'ed rofl

Babcock basically does the same thing as Torts except with tact. He dismisses dumb questions, gives rhetorical answers, and will cut interviews short. Should we get him castrated now? Do we get old of his act? I understand how some people can be upset with how he acts, but welcome to Torts. He's always been that way and anyone should know what kind of response they're going to get out of him. He's an emotional person who doesn't like to see his team fold on him. Especially in the playoffs when all matters. *edit* and no, i'm not the one neg'ing you. -
Does he have to trade the rights if Suter is a UFA not RFA? No trade clauses or nothing, just a simple 4 year expiration to UFA. I'm just curious.

I don't see why thats a bad thing. It is a team game, why would the head coach want to single an individual player out in a post-game presser to the public. Everyone wants to be up in arms because of his post-games right now and call him classless but you want him to put one of his players on blast infront of the public? If its one thing Torts absolutely kicks ass at, its sticking up for his players. He'll be blunt, damn well straight up say the performance was "the suck", but he wouldn't single out a players performance. He'll go tell you to talk to that player. Which Babcock will do the same thing in his pressers.
