Bettman wants to tout the "Original 12" now, haha

This would be the biggest slap in the face to the O6 teams.... I can't even equate words right now....

Suter most likely out of Nashville

As said earlier though, Parise rejected a huge pay raise and went with a 1 year contract. It seems like hes done with the organization and wants a new home. Now, yes, they are getting down the road right now and that can be changing his mind. Their financial problems are also there though, as also stated earlier. I mean all of things add up, it could've been the financial problems that lead him to sign a 1 year contract, it could've been how the moon looked that night. We'll never know, but I don't see Parise going to a bottom feeder for the payday. I think he has too much competition in him, the guy loves to compete and wears his heart on his shoulder. I just can't see a personality and work ethic like that go to a bottom feeder.

    Quenneville Vs. Bowman(s)

Coach Q came out in a presser after whats his name got fired. Obviously he was pissed about the management coming into his business and trying to specialize what he should be doing, like his penalty kill and power play. You have your sidemen, but the management stepped in too much and tried forcing things upon the coaching staff which caused internal problems. But, in the presser Coach Q said that him and the management were on good terms and he is going to fulfil his contract with the organization. He feels that they have a great group in the locker room and that he and Bowman came to an agreement that its his show next season and he'll be running it. I'm pretty interested to see what develops, and who he names his new A coach.

Thats one of the biggest things I've had against the Mule. You come out and say that the regular season is boring and that once playoff time comes, you're fully engaged. Well, alright. We saw that one post-season in beast mode. Let's not forget, Mule also wasn't brought into Detroit to be a bonafide sniper, he just turned out to score goals and we pushed that role on him. He never wanted to accept, or had planned to be our #1 scorer. But now that role has been planted upon him, i'm not sure how much he likes it being there. I didn't like his Dodge commercials this season, infact it just put more disgust in my mouth.

    The new guys thoughts.....

Babcock did strive to say that he was looking to pick up a RH defensemen when they were looking into another D. They would like the RH for the breakouts and transition, which is one of our hold ups, the transition through the neutral zone.

Yeah I saw that the other day also, unfortunately, I think hes talking about Radulov and possibly AK here. The core is: Rinne, Weber, Suter. Inwhich, hes been trying his ass off to secure them for the past full year atleast.

#7 Washington Capitals vs. #1 New York Rangers

Well if the media didn't keep trying to get answers out of Torts that they want, so they can spin it on him, he would probably respect them back. Listen, the media tries to DESTROY and skew the words of Torts, they set him up for failure. They ask rhetorical stupid questions, so he answers with smart ass answers. I would be the same way if they kept doing it OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER, And.... over. Hey John, why did you call that icing? Oh, i'm not sure, maybe because my guys were frickin tired and I didn't want to get destroyed in my zone. OH? So thats how you coach. Come on man, don't act like Torts is the bad guy all the time. You would eventually get fed up with it too.

Just to change it up a bit...

I don't even think you can predict a coach situation. Babcock has a nice contract to live out, inwhich he says he hopes to continue with Detroit. He also states that hopefully he won't be coaching 10 years from now, or atleast he won't be in Detroit. Back to the topic though, predicting a firing or contract expiration of a coach, ontop of who would be available is just a silly question to ask in my book. I love your motivation, but I think you may want to slow down on all these threads

DUDE WHAT?! Have you watched these playoffs? Have you seen Zach Parise? The guy is on fire, he is all over the ice, he is working his ass off. Stop using previous stats, jesus christ, welcome to the future, the past doesn't matter. The Mule destroyed the playoffs previously, guess where he was the past two seasons? Oh. My. Bad. What boils down is playoff performance, and Zach Parise can bring that also. He's a GREAT player, he isn't horrible defensively, if anything hes pretty damn awesome at the two way game. I just don't know if we're watching the same Zach Parise, captain of the New Jersey Devils.

    Red Wings Way Of Rebuilding?

No, regular season points still mean as much as they did. Seeding, home ice advantage, lottery, hell even making the damn big show. Please, don't tell anyone that "regular season points" don't matter from what they "used" to. If anything, please explain how much more regular season points meant back in "the day". Are you concerned because of the parity? Is that how they don't matter? I think this first round exit was the final stab into what needs to be done. After three unsuccessful postseasons (in OUR mindframe) I think we finally need to start pulling the trigger on the bigger acquisitions. We need more depth in our forwards and it showed big time during the injury bug and post-season. I think Babcock said it the best when he simply stated, "once we lost helm, it destroyed it. it made players change their roles and change their lines, it just caused people to go in the wrong places." THAT, is our bigger enemy right now. And the fact that we need a bonified sniper. Which is where Zach Parise comes in, with his legitimate scoring and yes say it with me, his defensive skills also.

Come on, Zach Parise is a good two way player. You can't deny that he backchecks hard and gives it his all, while burying. You can't say we wouldn't LOVE to have that apart of us, a legitimate scoring winger whom can actually backcheck. He sits at -5 this season, -1 previously, and then 24 and 30. Those aren't horrible numbers. Just to throw it in alittle perspective... Lidstrom ended the 2010-2011 season with a -2. You wanna castrate and call him on his defense? It happens.

    What Lidstrom NEEDS to Do...

All i'm saying is, we keep throwing out Suter and Parise like it's the only two people we should be pursuing. Parise is currently on a very good NJ Devils team that is about to go to the Eastern Conference Finals, i'm not sure how big that window is anymore that he was sliding out. Suter? Hell, his team just destroyed the "potential" team he wanted to sign if the management didn't show they were serious about a cup run. But, his management DID show that they were serious about a cup run, they were heavy at the trade deadline, they pushed for Radulov to come back for the post season. The management is showing they want to keep him, ontop that we aren't the only contender for either of these guys. *edit* with signing a backup, hell we need one, but we also don't want to break the bank while doing so. Tendies will up this offseason, but with a bunch of times striving to get their hands on them. It will be harder to find a valuable backup goaltender. Joey Mac would fit the suit, but with his health I wouldn't feel like he would be ready to take a workload off of Jimmy.
