You don't think Zetterberg can handle being captain? How can you possibly say something like this... you sir, have lost your mind.
-
Well articles like that just assure me how much hockey credibility they have, absolutely none. Yes, obviously the team is going to suffer with the loss of one of the best defensemen to play the sport. Anyways, what they also fail to notice is when #5 does retire, we will be prepared for it and have people to set in for him. This also includes, not calling someone up and throwing them into a system and saying, "good luck bud, don't screw up." Listen, the teams going to take a loss, but it isn't going to resemble anything of what an injury does to a team. Any article that wants to compare #5 retiring and #5 being injured as the same thing, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about and simply trying to get peoples attention. But hey, what journalist doesn't do that?

Whom is going to take a trade for a player that has known horrible medical history with his knee? I mean, the dude can barely get up stairs some days... I just don't see us shipping or someone taking that contract off of our hands. Hudler MAY be traded, depends on the potential seen by the front office and if they're content with his stay. I feel like homer would have a giant impact on Lidstroms return. And honestly, I don't care how much people talk s*** about homer, that boy busts his balls each and every night. The best image last night was straight off the face off homer just charging the crease not giving nay f*** was in his way. The boys a demolition man, and called rightfully so. You don't know how much you miss something until its gone, and how much heart and dedication that man puts in night after night... you'll miss something like that.

Can we get some legit sources here? Not that i'm calling bulls*** on you, but i'd rather hear it from a credible source that all these players are for sures for these dates as you put it. I just haven't read anything about Lids for sure playing on Saturday, nor Kindl. I know both were feeling better, but neither said they were for sures. Big rig still can't even fully hit a slapper, so I just don't see Wednesday happening at all. Franzen doesn't even want to go to the doctors, nor does it seem like he gives two s***s when he comes back. I mean seriously, Franzen really just urkes me recently. With the quotes of him not caring about the regular season (paraphased more to him saying that he finds that the regular season gets boring), not seeing a doctor immediately upon "injury" or "back spasms", and then I believe it was yesterday he was quoting that he was just taking his time for the injury like his team didn't need him. The only person I see coming back on Saturday would be Howard due to his negative MRI's.

We all know he's getting better with his english, and is being accustomed to America... but this interview was just so emotional to me. This was Pasha really speaking out for one of the first times, it seems like hes opening up more. The whole segment about his camps, and how he suggest to parents if they do come in contact with coaches that would prevent their players to go to a camp that they would benefit from to simply drop them because its a dead end. The whole segment about his parents, his love for hockey and how fresh he feels. I just liked everything about this interview, not like the normal pasha interview, but more.

Very cool pictures and video. I'm happy to hear the fans didn't give you too much, always great when you can talk with other hockey fans that don't have the same opinion as you. It seems as if society has lost that touch nowadays, there is no opinionated conversations but rather if you don't like my point i'm going to punch you. Seems like you had a good time!

Uhhh, what. Why are you bitching about an in-game interview about Babcock? If you want to ***** about post-game / in-game / pre-game interviews go ***** about Torts. Babcock is nowhere near Torts when it comes to interviews. All I remember from the interview was Pierre asking him how much he looked into the Rangers and Babcock simply said that he didn't look too much into them, and only watched their previous two games. What's wrong with that? I would rather have a coach show emotion then sit there and have a smile on during the rough times.

I don't get the quote exactly. How does one go from being an RFA to simply just becoming a UFA. He signed a 3 year entry level contract with Nash, with the expiration status of RFA. So while being an RFA he can just go back to the KHL and it disregards everything?

The pens system relies more on a grind, they play a more physical game and they have the speed to dump and chase. They can afford to dump the puck because they know they will most likely come out of the puck battle (if there is) with it. When you have speed and players that are willing to dig deep and work the boards and corners, you can work without your main superstars and get away with games. Besides, Fluery also stood on his head and kept them in it (besides Malkin basically just destroying the league by himself). Everyone has benefited from Pasha, but understand his game is completely and I mean completely different than Malkins. While you can consider both Malkin and Pasha a playmaker, they use different elements in their game. Pasha revolves around his slick moves to create space, Malkin... creates space with his body. He's strong on the puck (Pasha is very strong on the puck, but throw a big enough body and they'll get him off of it.) and his shot is a beaut. I understand noone has simply "tore it up" with pasha, but many have benefited by being on his line and he has caused inflated linemate stats himself.

No, he will not be an UFA after this year. Once his contract expires with Nashville he will be an RFA.
-
Yeah.. but see people DO rip it up with pasha.. this has been a known fact. If you're a decent winger that can finish with playmaking teammates that are legitimately some of the BEST in the league, yeah you normally can produce a lot more. I don't think anyone sat here and said Neal was a horrible player, none the less able to finish. We're simply stating that when you are on a line with Malkin, and on the powerplay with Malkin AND Crosby... well come on. Now, when Neal starts going coast to coast and solo'ing his play, i'll start giving strictly him credit but his linemates deserve just as much credit for his success.

That was also the very immature Alexander Radulov that injuried Arnott during his goal celebration. He's also been the leading goal scorer in the KHL for the previous two season. I think the two biggest affects from KHL to NHL is obviously the rink size, which would affect passing and pace. Hudler would be more effected by that, Radulov probably wouldn't be as bad as Hudler but he also played 4 seasons in the KHL. I think he'll do fine these remaining games. EDIT: Also, this will probably ensure Weber and Suter to resign in Nashville. His problems previously with Nashville was his immaturity between the veterans. Now that they are gone, he comes back and quite frankly that locker room is pretty excited to see him back. Especially Weber and Suter.
-
If i'm not mistaken but, hasn't he been on Malkins line all season, especially with Malkins rip? I'm not taking anything away from Neal, but I would also say hes been gifted a few beautiful feeds. If I had the same line mates, I could park myself backdoor and also net quite a few to get my trade value up
-
Besides the whole Matt Cooke thing getting way out of proportion especially with his recent play, I certainly wouldn't wish injury on any person regardless. Very immature thing to say...

Deep bone bruises, especially for a person at that age, regardless of shape will take awhile to heal. It isn't like a puck just hit his ankle and he's still moaning about it, the captain legitimately can't hockey stop and pivot that well yet. They were talking Monday morning that he had just started pivoting and skating a bit harder but still, they're hoping to have him back this weekend MAYBE. I think we may see him in a week or two, but certainly not this weekend.

In 114 CCHA games played for ND, left shooting forward Riley Sheahan has produced 64 points (20G-44A). 74 PIM. Signed in the NHL Entry Draft by the Detroit Red Wings in 2010. If anyone was wonderinggggggggg.

Since i've just given updates, i'll tell you how I feel about the Radulov thing. I like it, and actually wanted it to happen. Should he be allowed to play in the playoffs or this season? I don't think so, and I think they're exploiting a loophole that isn't going to exist anymore after this. Anyways, I believe he left the NHL after the 08-09 season? Which means he hasn't been playing on the NHL regulation 85 x 200 ice surface, the pace of the game and passing will be affected. I'm sorry, but no matter what, changing sizes especially after being accustomed there will be a period of adjustment. I don't feel within 10 regular season games + playoffs he will be adjusted by then. What would be funny is if he really was exploiting this to get more money, got Suter and Weber to resign, and then took off for the KHL again.

FML. The Wings have to be sitting there just pondering when things will finally turn around for them.

SlavaMalamud: Radulov and Salavat appear to have reached a deal allowing A-Rad to leave for Nashville now. Salavat to keep his KHL rights (Sport-Express) Also, he could be playing against Pit this thursday.

Age has to do with recovery time, or the percentage of recovery from injury. So it does have a pretty big impact in such injuries, especially an ankle injury to a hockey player.
-
I've been thinking about this the whole time he has been injured. It's going to affect him either way -- either it determined that he can't take the abuse of another 82 game season and this injury goes to show him that, or it shows him that he wants to play another year because all of his "i cant stand to watch this game on television" talks. I'm hoping that it made him realize what retirement would look like prior to actually pulling the trigger on a huge decision like that. From all of his interviews he sounds like he generally just misses being out there playing, which leads me to believe that he's not ready to retire just yet. But it could also make him really consider if he wants to make his body endure another 82 game season, and what could possibly happen if he did.

I told you not to disturb the normal flow of GDTs! LGW

I was just thinking about this, but dare not disturb the normal flow of GDTs.

Moral of the story: Blues are playing some good hockey under Hitchcock. You can't say otherwise, and quite frankly -- you just have to pat em on the back and be happy for them. I don't understand the hate. I mean they're apart of the central division, and yes we are fighting for the #1 spot but you gotta be happy when someone like Hitchcock comes in and turns a club around. He really made those boys into a legitimate grinding fashioned team. Regardless if the Blues go far this season, one thing is certain -- whoever pulls them first, good luck because you will get grinded down a good bit.
