Not all top 6 forwards strive only to score goals, Bert acknowledged that his new role was to piss off people and be the front net presence. He's been excelling at this, so we can't sit there and ***** about it. If it's winning games, it's working, therefore, who cares what his point numbers are. If he can sit there and create space on top of Pasha creating space, this maximizes the chances for Mule. First line is constructed on two "Power forwards" and a play maker. Mule is considered more a power forward than sniper, but obviously we know he has a beautiful shot when used.

There's more to hockey than just production, but hey who would know that? Not everyone's goal on the ice is to SCORE SCORE SCORE. There IS such a thing as roles in hockey.

Like the previous two posters, I too, was very confused at the date. I had to ensure today was Wednesday not Thursday. Damn you!!!

Kyle Quincey traded to Detroit in 3 team trade (TBL & COL)
evilzyme replied to Tim.D's topic in General
For the last time, trade deadline removes the 23 roster limit. -
I hope we lose enough to get the second seed. historically, it doesn't look good for teams that win the Presidents trophy.

I hope you're ready for the +/- is a useless stat flamethrower

What? No. If anything, when it comes to Babs it's another game. Babcock doesn't have the mindframe that THIS GAME IS EVERYTHING, he wants that done every game. I don't think ANYONE thinks this is more than a regular season game other than Vancouver fans. Just like I feel the Sharks victory wasn't that great because they're currently in the middle of their 9 game away stand.

http://www.nhl.com/i...ge.htm?id=26377 23-man Roster There may be a maximum of 23 players on each Club's playing roster at any one time from the commencement of the NHL regular season through the trade deadline. Prior to the start of the season, each Club must submit to the NHL its "Opening Day Playing Roster" which shall be comprised of not more than 23 players. Each Club must have a roster of at least 20 players, composed of 18 skaters and two goaltenders. Players on Injured Reserve do not count in the 23-man limit.

Do we NEED to send him down for anything other than practice and keeping him in shape? After the trade deadline the roster limit goes away.

I don't see it as big as what most Canuck fans think it is. I would rather not have Detroit lose either of these next two games against Chicago and Vancouver, but reality says we will fall to one of them or atleast drop a game in the near future. To think the Wings can continue their outstanding streak at home for the remainder of the season with majority games being played at home is unrealistic. To think Thursday's game is anything more than a regular season game, well you'd have to be a Vancouver fan.

So, i'm sitting here, watching my daily dose of news and the sports updates when I overhear on NBC Sports Network that Boston actually has the record of 22 consecutive wins. Apparently they were forced to play a home game on the road due to some stuff, which results in the record being "22" now. Boston sources are magically getting all types of butthurt now and can't just pat the Wings on the back for their outstanding feat.

That's a beaut of a view, nice seats and pictures!

Mike Milbury will remind us that we're not good because we won 4 in OT/SO, ofcourse.

A friend that doesn't enjoy watching the Wings? Sounds like he/she shouldn't be a friend to me!!!

Nevermind!

Where is video of Z riding Holmer's snowmobile in The Joe?

This sounds amazing, search team go. -
All I saw was Parise, very upset.

Doesn't Detroit hold the record for most consecutive road wins, also?

Original 6 match up to end the season, national television exposure, yeah I can see why they would want to attend it.
-
Yeah, i'm not sure why they were all types of up in arms about it. It's that and the fact that 4 of them have been OT/SO winners. The Wings can never just get a pat on the back, haters gonna hate. I was hoping someone had alittle more of a background story about it though.

Let us not forget, Chicago has been this bad all season, just their offensive power has masked it for the most part. If you force your forwards to score atleast 4 goals per game, its unrealistic to think they'll continue it throughout the season. The beginning of the season their forward group, which is a powerhouse, was holding and keeping them in the game, now that they aren't burying those chances it hurts them that much more. Crawford played on his head for them last season, but for them to think that he was going to continue the favor throughout this season, was a joke. Now, when they secure their defense Chicago will become a powerhouse. And yes, that hurts for me to say.

I'm starting to think that Kenny pushed for the Winter Classic inorder to secure Lidstrom's return next season
