The problem is this, Salei is already this focused on his new child. I'm already seeing him retire after this season, he wants to be more family oriented. For how much he has spent time with his wife in California and has been granted all this time off for their birth (which is very nice) but obviously he wants to finish his contract but hes not trying to miss time with his family.

I agree completely, you stole the words out of my mouth. Like it was said earlier, it took TWENTY games before he was showing to be clicking with the movement and style the Red Wings play. Some may say that 20 is a huge number, what about Hudler? He took longer... and secondly, the guy didn't care about Dallas for the past 3 years he was there. When he was stripped of his C he was just playing hockey on his own terms in Dallas; he announced this. When he came to Detroit he actually conditioned himself, wanted to play, wanted to help the team out. I swear when he got injured in November everyone was sitting here making threads "OH MY GOD MODANO INJURED HE WAS JUST CLICKING!!" now because he isn't Sidney Crosby or Alexander Ovechkin we want to put him to the dogs? Come on fellas... you're all crazy right now. EDIT: In regards to that quote, you may want to add in some additional information like this quote... You hate him for even admitting that he wants to do more for this team? He's try to find his confidence just like Hudler earlier in the season, he WANTS us to feel like hes acting helping out big time.

You missed these threads about a month ago. In regards about Joey, we would need Osgood to be claimed injuried still inorder to hold MacDonald in the NHL. Either way, this is going against our cap space and a huge reason why we haven't been able to dress beyond 10 forwards yesterday and tomorrow. I would love to have MacDonald with us during the playoffs especially with Osgood's health unknown and getting a cold start 10 games away from the playoffs frighten me, but what else can we do here? We're in a bundle here gang.

Datsyuk, Franzen, Hudler & Bertuzzi likely will not play

Listen, if Babcock wants to pull a Bowman at the end of the season, let him do it. Right now we're squared against Nashville and I personally don't want to play them first round right now so I could give two rants about some of these games. -

IM GOING TO THIS GAME. -
So everyone knows Rod Allen has his own drinking game when he does commentary for Tiger games, but i have yet to find one for Mickey Redmond. I have spent countless hours, (actually just a few minutes) to gather all of Mickey's quotes. So how it goes, is whenever Mickey says one of these quotes, you take a drink, really simple. But, we all know that Mickey has tended to come out of the blue on some really great saying, "He could sell ice cubes to the eskimo's right now." So whenever you deem that one of his quotes deserves a drink, you take a drink. But here are the most common of Mickey's great quotes. "Oh Boy" "Wow" "Bingo Bango!" "Holy Jumpin'" "Put all the hay in the barn and let 'em go at it!" "This is what the fans came for!" "This is no place for a nervous person" "Ginger ales after the game" "Hey Gang!" "That was a tic-tac-toe play" "Like a lumberjack fighting for the last pork chop!" "He likes it when you call him Fill Poola" (Valtteri Filppula) "Keep your sticks on the ice kids, good things happen" "You can head for your parties! This one's over!" "You go to sleep for a second against these guys -- the Red light's on" "Holy Mackeral!" "Well, He's a dandy" "The lumber is flying!" "Here comes Houdini" (his nickname for star center Pavel Datsyuk) "He’ll go in for repairs" "He blew a tire" "They got 'em rockin' at the Joe!" "He got a little lumber on him, and it didn't tickle" "His eyes were as big as saucer plates" "He couldn't get the puck in the ocean, even while standing on the pier" "Now you kids out there, pay attention, you could learn something from the pros" "You've got to watch the puck or you'll be spitting out Chiclets" "That was a bang-bang play" "That type of call just doesn't belong in the game of hockey" "Now that's a chinsey call" "They don't know what a penalty is here in San Jose" "Katie bar the door" "You only get a few kicks at the cat" "If I didn't know better, I'd say the ice was slanted" "He just gave him a BC two-hander" "It's a bench-clearing Donnybrook" "Hold it right there, gang!" "There was no one going to the pop stand!" "Giving a little Chin Music" "Water over the bridge, my boy!" "He's making more turnovers than Betty Crocker!" "Look out!" "It's a shooting gallery down there!" "You could've thrown a blanket over 'em!" "That was like a pinball game!" "Like Johnny on the spot!" "Put that biscuit in the basket" "His head looks like the top of a Makers Mark bottle" "He really left his jock strap hangin' off the clock" "He got beat like a rented mule!" "You be the judge." "It's Five O'Clock on a Saturday" (sung when a goal is scored about 5pm on Saturday game) "He had him out on fort street!" "He gave em the whatfor..." "Ok their going at it, not one person sitting at the Joe " "It's a beautiful thing." "That puck had eyes" "Watch out!" Via: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=117703951586952&v=wall&viewas=0

Yo my boy just scored the game tying goal? Ya'll done with this bulls*** yet?

I'm not going to sit here and say I haven't seen him float around the ice wandering around but come on guys. Why did we sign Modano in the first place? For veteran leadership and experience in the PLAYOFFS. Why can't we get things like the playoffs and regular season are two different storms fellas? How many times does this need to be said? Let's ask this question AFTER the playoffs are done... please...

Modano is the only one shooting the puck tonight besides Zett.

Another great LGW, this is going to be an intense game. Wings 3-2 (OT) LGW Modano, Cleary and Bert

http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/playoffrace/bracket Modern bracket. I would like to hold second seed, simply because if we play Vancouver I would like to play them in the finals, it would make for a great WCF. Last year yes the 2nd seed got downed in the eastern conference but not western, hell, they won the cup last year.

Current number of players with 10+ goals --------------------------------------- Detroit Red Wings: 11 Phoenix Coyotes: 11 Boston Bruins: 11 Philadelphia Flyers: 9 Atlanta Thrashers: 9 Minnesota Wild: 9 Chicago Blackhawks: 9 Vancouver Canucks: 9 Carolina Hurricanes: 9 Buffalo Sabres: 9 Ottawa Senators: 8 Calgary Flames: 8 Los Angeles Kings: 8 Edmonton Oilers: 8 New York Rangers: 8 Nashville Predators: 8 Tampa Bay Lightning: 8 New York Islanders: 7 Anaheim Ducks: 7 Dallas Stars: 7 Columbus Blue Jackets: 7 Montreal Canadiens: 7 New Jersey Devils: 7 San Jose Sharks: 7 Pittsburgh Penguins: 7 Washington Capitals: 6 Colorado Avalanche: 6 Toronto Maple Leafs: 6 St. Louis Blues: 6 Florida Panthers: 5 I'm sorry but I consider teams potency by how many 10+ goal scorers they have. Red Wings are currently tied in first alongside the Bruins and Coyotes. I find this more of a threat then a team trying to be carried by a few players come playoff time. Especially when the Wings are known for turning the switch on come April. per: www.hockey-reference.com

DARREN HELM >> http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/h/helmda01.html I fail at copy and pasting tables, WHATEVER. Interesting stats though

Helm is going to be the next Draper. I absolutely love one thing about Helm, he is willing to learn and expand his game. You can consistantly see him change and listen to the people around him, he's not naive. He also trys to mimic the players around him, Draper during the offseason and in the beginning of the season taught him how to use his speed and you can definitely tell hes been learning. Helm last season used to just fly down the ice like a bat out of hell, he still does it day in and day out but he's alot smarter with it. He's also learning how to use his hands. What scares me is teams offering him a nice chunk of change because they see his potential, i'm hoping he isn't too greedy and wants to stay with Hockeytown. Helm will definitely be a top player in upcoming seasons, I can only see him getting better.

I'll reply to the whole thing right after this but firstly... we were shooting from the outside against the Oilers because of one reason, Dubnyk is huge. We were trying to force rebounds and get secondary shots from the backdoor. When playing against a huge goalie you need to force any shot you can onto the goalie and hope for those juicy rebounds. Especially when the team isn't giving up any space in the offensive zone. Same style they play when we go against Jonathan Quick, rebounds rebounds rebounds. Not saying either goalie is known for giving their rebounds but that's practically all you can do when playing against a huge body in net that doesn't give you any real shots.
-
This exactly. As Osgood himself explained during Wingspan I believe it was, you can always practice non-stop during practice with the team but you can expect the shots and have a clear view, almost anticipate each shot. In real games, it's A LOT different. Osgood needs practice following the puck and moving to the speed of the game since his injury, the only way to warm him up and give Howard some time to get ready for the task ahead of him is to play Osgood.
-
Very good news, I'm hoping this gives Osgood a real fresh mindframe coming back into the season. Already hit his 400 win mark, fixed his pain that he overcame and played with and had time to practice for awhile now. He's very capable of being one of the best when you need him, I hope he comes back swinging!

Is this a pre-season jersey? IRC they've never used the nameplates like that on any of their jersey's besides pre-season ones...
