This also was before Modano got the Red Wings touch, given that Mike wouldn't have gotten injuried things could've went a whole different route. Hudler is an playmaker and is capable of finishing, Cleary has shown he can be net presence, and Modano believe it or not, has one hell of a shot if he has someone to feed him. I believe this could be a good line.... homer and abby werent going to get Modano anywhere.

They still have time to get their heads out of their asses, personally I feel like this slump they're in is what they need. They need to go on a big losing streak. Shown last night they can go 5-11 and i forgot how many overtime losses and still hit the 96 point's that are estimated needed to make playoffs. Anyways, when you're on a losing streak is when you finally sit down and analyze what's going wrong here. We have a team full of depth and superstars, they all know what they are capable of but currently they feel like they can hit the ice and magically carry themselves to win. It's the wrong way to play and that's how they're doing it right now. We're taking half-ass shots, making horrible passes that aren't there (I'm not sure what the hell they're seeing for a passing lane right now), and defense is getting ran into the ground. The only way for them to wake up is what's happening right now, I want Babcock to be pissed. This is the only way Babcock is going to become his old self, when the team is playing like absolute s***. This may worry a lot of fans because it's so close to playoffs but I know this will only strengthen them in the long run. Let's get this bulls*** cleaned up BEFORE the playoffs happen, not allow it to carry on WHILE the playoffs are here. /rant Short version: Stop bitching and have some faith.

There's a few angles we need to look at too here, his son moved to Sweden and is organized with his grandparents right now. Did Nick have any agreements that he would meet with his son the following year, like "I'll play this last season and then i'm coming home to you, in the meantime please stay with your grandparents and allow me to do this for me." We all know Nick is able to return and play at NHL level above and beyond, but we need to put his real life infront of the sport also. Do I believe he'll return next year? Not if we win the cup, I think he'll pack his bags and leave on a good note. If we don't win the cup? Depends on our offseason pickups and whom's returning, if we have enough cap space and these new young guys emerge I could see him coming back. Depends if the motivation and family is there, I would love to hold on to him as long as possible but I also felt this way to Stevie also. It's hard to see them go, completely different stories, but damnit.

1:30AM EST time, game still started around 7:30 PST/10:30 EST which leads to a 10:30 PST/1:30 EST flight time. The production line blogger posted on how crazy it was after game straight to the airport to fly out. He said Babcock and the coaching staff along with Ken Daniels are the first ones there, then slowly the players start arriving depending on showers / post-game interviews. Not a crazy thing, they just need to get moving to get as much rest as possible.

True, but I believe this all accountable due to all the injuries in so many ways. -- As stated before, we are grabbing players from GRR to occupy our benches because of injuries, there is no fight for ice time as it was earlier in the season. With babcock sitting forwards each game, everyone was on their heels on performance. -- Due to all the injuries it seems like things are starting to catch up on some of the players that were expected to play twice as hard during the absence of pasha, cleary, stuart, modano, filp, ect. You can sit back and say the all-star break was their "break" but having a week off will only get you so far considering they probably still ran personal conditioning stints. EDIT: I forgot my original rant that was, correct me if i'm wrong.. but wasn't abdelkader brought back up to the winged wheel from GRR last season during the playoffs to be that physical guy. Didn't he take boxing lessons over the summer not only to condition himself but be ready to square up toe to toe? Why... on.... earth... is... none... of... this... happening... I'm not asking him to go out there day in and day out throwing fist up and down the rink, all i'm asking for is to have SOMEONE with that intimidation factor in our lineup. The factor where the opposing team KNOWS not to f*ck around when you're on the ice, knowing they have to watch their back if go ahead and play their cards wrong. Am I alone here or do I feel like he also dug himself a hole here with this article? You know its bad when they come out publicly and voice out that "we don't have enough fans." If I were the owner, I would be HAPPY to play the red wings again, why? Because the sea of red isn't just red wings fans, their fans that are paying OUR bill. It's nice to have fan's of your own, but be blessed that other fans are willing to travel into your grounds willing to pay YOU to watch their team play.
