Since Evgeni Nabokov declines to play for the Islanders and is suspended rightfully... could we trade Joey Macdonald for Nabokov? With their goalie going down last night theyre desperate. I don't know how their farm system is currently but it seems like now they're going to be in a tight situation. Macdonald has showed up this season and has previous NHL experience. They know Nabokov wont play for them so is this feasible?

On the topic of the wings being covered... we have to think of it from the franchises point of view. HBO would have no success following a team like the wings. Besides the local attention and numerous fans around the nation I wouldn't see the ratings being outstanding for any company besides FSN D. The only way possible is two things: we would need another winter classic with wings vs. hawks, hawks would buy the attention of mindless idiots who just started watching hockey precisely two years ago(their whole fanbase), or FSN Detroit makes a series own their own which most defiantly would probably benefit for them and their ratings, and we all know the pistons aren't helping them what so ever.

Being covered by HBO especially 24/7 you had to expect the series to be covered with great emotion and it showed. I absolutely loved watching the series. I've gained more respect for some players I thought were complete douches. Also, the final episode I found to be really emotional, I'm not sure it was but the outdoor arena part with the kids hit me pretty hard and the final 5 minutes where they were playing exogenesis pt 3 by muse was amazing. The passion they put into the show and showcased it was beautiful.

I seriously lost any respect, which wasn't anything to begin with, for the flames franchise for this hit. For the refs NOT to call a game misconduct on the spot was insane... that hit was beyond, and I mean beyond dirty. There's plays where players get hit hard because they have their head down but Stuart was trying to find the puck and get it out of the zone, AKA HIS POSITION AND JOB. He was simply doing his task at hand and he got an elbow to the face because of it; i'm simply speechless when it comes down to it. The Flames franchise over and over again have proven to me how classless they are. I'm seriously still floored from this hit. As for others not sticking up for Stewie, I wouldn't go that far; must players didn't see what happened until it already went down and time had passed. Look at the replay, noone even realized Stewie was down until it was too late. Anything that would've happened after that moment would've been against us. As much as I would LOVE to see pull some redemption for this hit, it wasn't worth it once it was finally seen.

Its a iffy situation when players are mid injured. You could play them but it could worsen the problem and affect them for a longer period of time, or you can let them sit and play it safe resulting in better health. Tough times right now with the injures appearing but we'll work through it, sure showed it last season.

I was reading they refused to change the day and would keep pushing it later and later, hopefully everything works out for them. I know around Macomb its been warm and raining all day, snow nearly melted completely and ice drizzling away. Sucks for the weather conditions.

I'm absolutely okay with this month, some downfall of games, especially the chicago one but its okay. I came into this month saying atleast .500 would be fine to get away with. 8-5-2 isnt bad considering the back to back games plus the late injury train that decided to roll through.

No matter what it comes down to this; Lidstrom coming to Babcock personally saying, we want ozzy to get his 400th at home, Babcock's return "good, then you better start playing like you want it." I think this is the motivation we need.
