Wait, what? Vanek? He was a ghost in the playoffs
-
Seriously though. Kindl and Smith have yet to show offensive upside. Unless they suddenly show up next year, we are again dealing with Kronwall as our ONLY puck moving defender again. And yes Kronwall can move the puck, but like Frank said I'd rather he compliment a puck mover defensively than take on the entire responsibility himself. If Kindl, Smith, Ouellet, Sproul, are not next years puck moving answer, then a stop gap puck mover like Boyle should be signed to the shortest deal possible.

Ok remembering that our superstars are at under 8 mill and under 7 mill, unlike most teams, I'll reevaluate my arguemt. Toews or Kane probably could get up to 9 million per year. Personally I think that sucks to do to your team, but if they want it they'll get it. However, I still think 10 million is an overpayment.
-
But surely what I talked about can't have nothing to do with it. I remember Laraque coming out after his retirement and talking about how many NHLers are juicing. I always assumed (again correct me if I'm wrong) that there was some stronger union at play that was protecting its players better than say the MLB does.
-
If I was either of them I'd want to be in Chicago for the rest of my career. Management has done a damn good job of putting a competitive team together every year, with themselves as the center pieces. If Toews or Kane demand above 8 a year they are dumb... and as much as I despise them I don't think either are that stupid.

Canadians, correct me if I'm wrong, but (despite my lack of knowledge on Canadian politics) I've always understood that Canada has stronger unions than the U.S... Is it this reason, along with the fact that the NHL has more Canadian teams and Canadian influence than any other sport, that the NHL has more labor disputes? Or at least one of the reasons?

10 million? I think you mean 6 - 8 million depending on the length

Sign Boyle. Trade for Weber. Fire Holland. Trade for Malkin. Kill Franzen. Any questions?
-
Just ooooooozzzzzzzing with s.........
-
Wow. Someone finally figured it out. Hollands just trying to keep up appearances. He doesn't even want to build a good hockey team. He just wants to play GM and hang out with Zetterberg.
-
Other than Kronners he would be the go to guy here
-
Of course, but that doesn't make him worth buying out. He definitely scores in bunches and we will always have to deal with that
-
I hate bettman as much as the next guy, but he does know how to get s*** done. He's a business man not a hockey man, and he does that well.
-
Good thing Franzen is worth 4 mil
-
Yeah but like, Crosby Malkin
-
Would Love to see the article where Dats says he's upset
-
He's never been shopped lol just like 99% of the wings
-
"He's 29, he's in the prime of his career," - Holland "he competes, he's good defensively." - Holland "now he's got to continue to evolve his game," - Babcock "You're not just signing him for what he is, you're signing him for what you hope he's going to be. So that means work ethic and determination and skill development and continue to get better so he can be the player we perceive him to be." - Babcock Holland already said he's not going to buyout Franzen. Whether you like him or not, are disappointed in him or not, every GM including Holland knows he's worth his contract. It's ridiculous to suggest a buyout. It's not going to happen.

Idk what post game interview you watched, but all he said was that he was proud of the way we made the playoffs, not the result of them.

The bowl is way steeper

This is probably our forward acquisition this year

I've soured on him as well. Too bad he wasn't drafted by us. May have turned out differently. -

number9 replied to DSM's topic in General
It has absolutely nothing to do with him being "another swede". Like u said, he's low on the depth chart. If he doesn't like that then adios.
