    Bouwmeester opinions? Potential trades? *merged*

I don't believe any of the rumors that the wings are interested in him. He's lazy, left handed, and overpriced.....Everything about him screams NOOO. I'd be be truly amazed if the wings were at all interested. We never go for guys like that OR contracts like that. The only thing JBO is good at is staying healthy.....which is easy to do when you skate at 50% every night....

    No Kubina talk?

Kubina and Rozival are in Prague having drinks and laughing there asses off right now.....with Lilja, Meszaros, and Prongers out, and Carle gone, you better believe Philly wants Kubina back badly.....Then there's us needing depth D-man....If I was one them I'd be charging arms and legs right now, their services are in demand....probably why no one has signed them yet, them and the teams are holding out for the best price. Seems like everyday more surgeries and injuries are being announced, and every time that happens they can up their price tag. Really hope we bring one of them in though....Holmgrens probably willing to spend more than Ken though.

    Our current forwards.

The league has changed. I'm an enforcer fan and definitely believe in letting tough guys police the players....but the league has changed. Whether you, or I, like it or not that's not how the game works anymore. Everyone gets run these days....even big mean guys get run....The most important thing nowadays is to KEEP YOUR HEAD UP, and draw that penalty....a Fighter is not going to fix things....the most you can do is at least agitate back (hence the tootoo signing) Everyone gets two handers in the back these days....Z is not special lol....Weber would have done that to Crosby too in that situation, even with Godard sitting on the bench

    12-13 Biggest Surprise

He simply brings nothing desirable....so what if he can skate good?....if everyone who could skate good made NHL teams, me and all my buddies would be slappin pucks with Toots next season. Bottom sixers need to bring to the table what the top sixers dont.....size, grit, fighting, hitting, penalty killing, whatever.....Cory is a top 6 type player, he doesn't have the skill set or the assets to be in an NHL bottom 6.....unfortunately for him he doesn't have the level of skill that is required of a top sixer. Thus he'll prolly be a top sixer in a lesser league for most of his career. It sucks that he didn't work out, but they can't all workout....For every Emmerton that fails, a Nyquist succeeds......I was never really ever high on Emmerton anyway, never thought he was anything special....and what that tells me is that if he can get the amount of time that he got on this team, then I've very excited for our other prospects who I'm actually excited about and who actually might be something special lol. Good things to come.
  7. And when it comes down to it.....anyone who watches hockey knows how good Niklas Kronwall is. Forget stats, as good as they are you don't even need them to show that Kronwall is a #1 guy lol. Just watch a wings game. He's just as good, if not better, than most of the other #1 guys out there in the league. Again, if the D falters it will be due to lack of depth....not lack of Kronwall We should probably get back on topic though....Are we still a top UFA destination? Well in the players poll just this last season the players voted and said the team that they'd most like to play for, in the entire league, is the Detroit Red Wings. We weren't just in the top 5 or top 10, we were the number freaking 1. Question answered?
  8. yup kronners never played against top competition ever! not sure he even knos who crosby is! as always cougar ur spot on!

    12-13 Biggest Surprise

Everyone knows Smith and Nyquist will be good, and probably brunner....biggest surprise will be Kindl....he has it in him
  13. last year.... Kronwall finishes #26 in scoring for D-men league wide....playing the #3 spot.... Kronwall finishes #4 in power play points by D-men league wide....more than Lids.... Kronwall finishes #8 in shooting percentage by D-men league wide Not to mention he's one of the best hitters in the league and defensively sound....Kronwall is a #1 D-man, as he has been groomed to be Edit: Almost forgot....he finished 10th in blocked shots by D-men league wide as well
  14. realy? lindstrom ment uhlot too hour defence? eye donht thinc anywon arouwnd hear new dat...tanks four opaning hour i's 2 dat Kronwall has been a #1 D-man capable for years now, he's just been stuck behind Lids....who's one of the best to ever live....And no other team has a Lids either so were even I guess....Our D is weak right now, but not because Kronners can't handle the #1 spot....that be should obvious to anyone who watches the wings....
  15. really? correcting grammar? actually on the internet it's *ur* lol no one said you couldn't have an opinion bud....I was disagreeing with your point that Kronwall is going to have a tough year because you for some reason think he only plays against crappier forwards. Go ahead and correct some more grammar if that's all you got.
  16. yeah Kronwall has never ever been on the ice when those guys are....your completely right

Evander Kane is a Better Option than Zach Parise

just to compare some of our picks over the past few drafts to Kane. 2012 1. Vasilevski (taken by Tampa with our 1st) 2. Frk 3. Paterson 2011 1. Puempel (taken by Ottawa with our 1st) 2. Jurco or Ouellet or Sproul (we had three 2nd round picks) 3. Quine 2010 1. Sheahan 2. Jarnkrok 3. Aubry 2009 1. Ashton (taken by Tampa with our 1st) 2. Tatar or Ferraro (we had two 2nd round picks) 3. Nestrasil or Fournier (we had two 3rd round picks) 2008 1. McCollum 2. Delmas (taken by Colorado with our 2nd) 3. Nicastro 2007 1. Smith 2. Spaling (taken by Nashville with our 2nd) 3. Andersson Theres really only 3 bad picks in there IMO. Aubry, McCollum, and Delmas, and Delmas was picked by COL with our pick. The only draft year I would have given up our first 3 picks for an overpaid Kane on what would most likely be a super long contract would have been 2008. And we had the last pick of the draft that year so we were in the crappiest position to draft well that year. This is supposed to be a very strong draft class coming up and we will probably have a higher pick than we are used to. So I think it would be a very bad idea to overpay an RFA and seriously jeopardize our future. In a parity league championships are built on homegrown talent on good contracts.

Red Wings Sign Jurco to Entry Level Contract

I'm so jacked about how the wings are going to look in the years to come Forwards like: Nyquist, Jarnkrok, Jurco, Frk, Tatar, Athanasiou D-men like: Smith, Sproul, Mckee, Ouellet Basically were going to be all skill and speed up front and all aggressive toughness on the back end....number9 likeyyyyyyy

Our Current Defense / What Holland Can Do *merged

Agree on Emmerton. Disagree on Kindl, I think he'll be a late bloomer....he has all the tools and looks like he just needs to find the confidence. Emmertons just fast, which is nice, but it doesnt get u anything without having at least one of hands, size, strength, vision. They just play a totally different game in my mind. Ouellet is grittier and slower and just doesnt have that studly offensive d-man touch like Yandle does. And don't let the numbers deceive you, the juniors tend to be high scoring.... Ouellet 119pt in 173gp (68%) Yandle 84pt in 66gp (127%) Yandle scored almost double the amount that Ouellet has per games played in the juniors very bright! I was just thinking of how tough our D will be in a few years. Smith, Sproul, Ouellet, Mckee.....4 guys that are all AGGRESSIVE motherf***ers, big strong and defensively responsible too.....its gonna be hell for other teams to cross the blue line or stand in front of the net, i wish em luck lol theyre gonna need it

Our Current Defense / What Holland Can Do *merged

Just compared Smith to Wiz cause theyre both offensive d-man who play very aggressively and gritty in the D-zone....i bet he'll be better than Wiz though. Sproul is exactly that in my book....a more well rounded Souray. I almost compared Mckee to Mark Stuart the first time around.... He's much faster than M. Stuart though, and I think even nastier! I disagree completely on that one. Yandle has awesome offensive skills, and is a great skater....but he's also softy.....Ouellys always been described as a 2-way guy with slightly more of a defensive mind.... definately not a softy, will drop the gloves if he needs to....and is also not the best skater in the world, decent thou.
