Read the thread. How many butthurt Wings fans were in here crying about the Detroit Sucks chant before I said anything? I'm just pointing out that it's silly and pointless and it only started because of how good Detroit has been for a long time. The reason there is no "Blues Suck" chant (when they actually do suck) is because they weren't worth worrying about until now. Do you really believe that Hawks fans actually think that the Detroit Red Wings "suck" at anything related to professional hockey? Use your head. All reasonable Hawks fans respect the Red Wings. The fact that you guys get so butthurt about a retarded Detroit Sucks chant just shows that it gets under your skin exactly as planned. Hawks fan here. I don't know why the stupid "Detroit Sucks" thing gets under Wings' fans skin like it does. You guys crushed us for so many years it was like the only way Hawks fans could strike back because it sure as hell wasn't happening on the ice. Now it's just a harmless tradition. Every Hawks fan with a brain respects the hell out of the Wings for what they have accomplished.

You have got to be joking. The year is 2011, there is a $64.3M cap, and the dearth of available free agents has produced an enormous seller's market. Montador had the highest +/- on the Sabres in 2010-11, is a cumulative +39 since the lockout (playing on mediocre teams at best) , and has scored 20+ points each of the last 4 seasons. If you like advanced stats he led all defensemen on the Sabres in GVT, GVT/game, and was 2nd in point share. His corsi numbers were almost identical to Bieksa's in 2011. To suggest that he is overpaid by "at least a million" is patently absurd given Montador's performance and current market conditions.

Florida needs to spend 48 million next season. They are not interested in good value, they need money on the books. Sharp is going to be looking for a lot more than 4 million per year. He makes 3.9 right now.
