  1. Do you live your whole life in hindsight? It was a bad move..didn't work out..wish we would've have done it..it's also over and there is nothing we can do. We are stuck with an inconsistent d man in Quincey, the first round pick (19th overall) turned out to be used on a Russian goalie and if you look at the 5 guys surrounding that pick on either side I wouldn't say it's filled with blue chip prospects. Moving on....

Holland on SiriusXM w/ audio link

Teams have been trying to man handle us for 20+ years. I think our track record stands alone. We have outclassed and out disciplined teams in that time frame. The bigger, badder, tougher argument is such a load of garbage around here and it has been since I joined this forum 11 years ago. Get some new material. Datsyuk and Z will go into the corners with anyone and most of the time come out with the puck. 9 out of 10 fights now is a staged gong show and does nothing for the momentum of the game like it used to.

    2013 HHoF Inductees

Funny group for me personally, Chelios I always hated until he became a Wing, Shanny was top 5 of my all time favs and now I can't handle him and Niedermayer was a guy I always tried to not like because he played for the Devils and then the Ducks but he is such a class act it's hard to not like him. Congrats to all 3

who's on their way out of Detroit

Not sure how he's going to swing this but hopefully he makes a 3 for 1 or something and gets another piece or moves some of these guys to load up on picks.. That's what he's paid the big bucks for.

    Abdelkader Hypothetical

Put me on Pavel's line and i'll get 15 goals and i'm fat and out of shape. I would just go to the net with my stick on the ice all ngiht long. lol

    Brunner Contract Talks

If it's about the fit for Brunner and not the money then why wouldn't he take less to stay here? He said he loved playing here. His sample size is tiny..I just don't get this angle whether it's coming from him or his agent.

    Brunner Contract Talks

Helene St. James@HeleneStJames Retweeted by Kukla's Korner Ken Holland: "Still in touch with Daniel Cleary, expect Damien Brunner to be moving on to another situation.... But been a tremendous day."

Wings sign Stephen Weiss, 5-years, $24.5m

Forgot Abby, pretty sure he makes the top 12. Prob in Brunner's spot because I don't think he's going to be back

    is anyone happy right now?

I am done here today, this comment takes the cake ...4 concussions in 13 months and 3 goals last year.

Wings sign Stephen Weiss, 5-years, $24.5m

Dan Rosen@drosennhl Babcock said as of now Helm is 3rd-line C and Andersson is slotted to be 4th line C. Weiss at No. 2. Datsyuk with Zetterberg on top line. Loving this. Hope Helm can get healthy because that is great depth down the middle. Abby and Z can also play center.

    Bobby Ryan to Ottawa

I put Ryan in the Brunner category..completely one dimensional streaky scorer..hard to give up goal scoring but this game is played at both ends of the ice..something neither of these two is very good at.

    is anyone happy right now?

Losing Fil is a negative? He's more than had his chance to prove himself as a legit center in this league and he's coming off arguably his worst year ever. It was painful...he floated around the ice, afraid to shoot, afraid to go to the net..fresh meat down the middle. I like Brunner, it's hard to give up goal scoring but it was brutally obvious that this guy was a 1 dimensional player..he's terrible defensively and management knows they have guys with similar goal scoring ability in the system ( Gus and Tatar) Alfie is a low risk high reward for 1 season..nothing wrong with that move at all. We are super deep up front and have lots of pieces to trade.

    Dan Cleary Watch

Unless Holland has a magical plan to trade some of these forwards I'm not sure why wanting to keep Cleary at this point is even an option. We have 14 under contract right now and still need to sign Gus and Andersson (thats 16)

Wings sign Stephen Weiss, 5-years, $24.5m

injury prone guys? Weiss has averaged 74 games a year in his career and that number is only at 74 because he was injured last year. Make some sense before you post this garbage.

Wings sign Stephen Weiss, 5-years, $24.5m

Not sure how we sign Gus, Andersson and Smith with 2.3 milion but there must be some kind of plan in place.

How much room do we have exactly? Im terrible with this stuff.

Wings sign Stephen Weiss, 5-years, $24.5m

I just posted this in the locked thread..was Weiss the captain in Florida? Did we just swipe 2 captains from 2 new divisional rivals?

Was Weiss the captain in Florida? Did we just swipe 2 captains in one day from 2 new divisional rivals

    Stephen Weiss on his way?

How the hell do we sign Gus, Andersson and Smith without any cap space left?

Anyone who says Kenny never takes the plunge and over pays a bit for a free agent..there ya go.

    Dan Cleary Watch

I agree, never wanted a guy to leave so bad that I actually like..he's been a great Wing, total warrior but it's time to move on .

    Brunner Contract Talks

Ha Haha really? they are less that a year apart in age and Weiss has scored more points per game in his career than Fil. Time for a change at center on the 2nd line and I'm all for some new blood there. Fli was so passive this year it was hard to watch.
  25. I agree, there isn't really a downside, 1 year deal, bad year he's going to get 20 goals I think..good year he might get 30..low risk..high reward.
