  1. I hear ya..where is blueadams when you need him lol
  2. We are going to need a lineup refresher thread pretty quick...my 33 year old memory can't remember who plays where anymore.. I was just looking at our D and it's weird not to see # 5 back there but I have this good feeling that the group of guys we have back there could be pretty servicable.

Can someone explain to me why the one guy on the team with the white jersey's is wearing a flaming yellow helmet? lol
  7. Found this story on Bleacher Report today..don't think its been posted..good read..hard to disagree with any of them. I think the drafting of Lidstrom should be on there somewhere. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1421904-detroit-red-wings-most-important-moments-in-team-history

Does anyone feel like I do at this point and would rather them just cancel the whole season than force a deal and we get stuck with some mid rate 50 game season? Ask NBA fans what the quality of games were like in a 66 game season last year.

    Sheahan arrested for "superdrunk" driving

Nice disclaimer..seems like that is exactly what you are doing.

Red Wings Off Season: I Give Them an A

Huh? Holland ponied up for all these guys..they didn't want to come to Detroit..it had nothing to do with the amount of money offered.

Of course he said that..that's bargaining 101. He's not going to say " this is the greatest deal ever " because if he says that then if something hits a snag he will have no bargaining power. I think Fehr probably s*** his pants today when they came at them with that but he still has to keep his poker face on.

    Where in the World Is...

Lebda was one of the fastest skaters I have ever seen who had no idea how to use his speed and for a guy who was so fast skating forward he looked so awkward skating backwards. Solid player for the most part be he was easily replaceable

Z basically says Bettman should be fired

Our money? Once you buy that jersey or pay for a ticket that money is no longer yours..it is the owners ..when you buy a chocolate bar is it your concern what the guy who owns the 7-11 does or how he spends the money? Also this fallacy that Bettman is responsible for the lockout is so stupid..he answers to the owners for the 100th time..they tell him they aren't happy and want to lockout the players and it's his job as head of the league and rep of the owners to break the bad news and get the blood on his hands. I don't like the guy for a lot of the things he has done but this is solely on the owners and players and how they want to deal with it.

Jimmy D Speaks out on Lockout, fined $250k

Some of the stuff he said was refreshing to hear..some was just dumb as s***. Opinions are like assholes and to be honest this has just turned into a never ending loop of people blowing smoke up other peoples asses. The lockout 8 years ago was brought about because of billionaire owners complaining about escalating salaries and huge operating costs. New CBA was done and everything seemed good until they started to find loopholes and raising the cap every year ( i know it was based on revenue). Put a salary cap in place and make it stick for 5-10 years and then re entertain the idea of it going up or down. As Jimmy D said the owners WILL NOT lose in this process and it wont be the Shea Webers and Zach Parises who will be anxious to get back to work..it will be the Paul Bisonette's and the Drew Miller's who will start to miss their pay cheques in the near future. Players are greedy but the owners are greedier...you don't get to be billionaires by giving in to people. It's a fine line between being greedy and making shrewd smart business moves. I'll enjoy watching my local WHL team play while these d bags figure out how to stroke each others egos some more.

Canadiens sign Pacioretty to six-year extension.

And we wonder why there is a potential lockout on the horizon. This guy has played 1 full season in the show. He has 53 career goals.. I know he's only 23 but cmon..4.5 million. Nothing and I mean nothing was learned from the first lockout. If anything it's gotten worse..they keep pumping up the cap ( I know it's based on revenue) and guys like this keep getting these ridiculous contracts. He will score 18 goals next year and this contract will be a complete abortion that the Habs will be stuck with.

    Does Babcock walk?

What would be more frustrating for him is he knew that Holland wasn't putting any effort in..he clearly is and teams don't want to deal with us. It's pretty cut and dry
  19. Very good point, i'm not forgetting that Lidstrom or Stuart is gone. Lids can never be replaced so thats a non issue to me. Although he could have still played for a few years he was on the declining years of his career..as is Stuart I believe...He was very hot and cold last year. They just lost 2 guys in their absolute prime. Needless to say the bluelines in the central are going to look a whole lot different next year.
  20. Philly can have him. Not only was one half of the best d pairing dismantled with a division rival now the other half may be gone too. Nashville just went from a fairly legit team to complete garbage. It's just unforturnate for us this year that the guys we would love to have (Nash, Suter, Weber) are in our division. These gm's are smart for not letting us have these guys. There is more parity in the central now then in a long time. He's out of our division and out of our conference for the time being....Im ok with that.
  21. Exactly..he's going to get every chance to prove he is way better then he was last year. Give him lots of minutes and ride him.

Red Wings make "helluva" offer for Nash, no response

Personally I would rather see Ryan here anyways..right handed shot..3 years younger...5.1 cap hit opposed to the 7.8 of Nash. Ryan would be my 1st choice via trade..then Semin, Doan, Nash. I was pumped about the idea of getting Nash at one point but Howson is out of his skull it sounds like.

Red Wings make "helluva" offer for Nash, no response

Their franchise player has landed them 1 playoff appearance and 0 playoff wins since he's been there. Maybe the fans are ready for some fresh faces....then again maybe they arent .

Red Wings make "helluva" offer for Nash, no response

I don't know what Howson is asking for but we are talking about a guy who has a career high of 79pts. Hasn't scored more than 41 goals. Hasn't scored more than 33 in the last 3 years. Has never won anything....etc...Don't get me wrong he would be a welcomed addition for the scoring punch...but I think Howson may be high on the magic fungus if the thinks he's getting the world for this guy.

    Holland Content with Current Roster

Nobody is a lock anyomore, an 8th seed just won the cup by knocking out the top 3 seeds on their way. Home ice advantage is completely overrated. Just make the playoffs is the motto now a days. No way this team finishes 12th..end of story. Its going to be a great divisional race in the central which will only help us get better.
