I think you're very wrong and to be quite honest I think that's ridiculous. He's 37 won the cup mutiple times, has had some nagging injuries and just figured that now is a better time than any to hang em up. Donated 6 million dollars? Cmon..he has made more then enough money in this league..did you ever think that he values his health and would love to spend more time with his family? He took a discount when he signed his deal and to for you to think he's doing this to make the team better is kinda funny actually. The old arena was a problem but also the Canadian dollar was worth about 65 cents US back then which was even more of a problem. In an uncapped era with a bad arena and a bad dollar they just couldn't do it. Another Jets link...decent read

With strong word that Atlanta may be heading up to the great white north and rumors swirling that Detroit would be the team to head East could this have been our last playoffs in the Western Conference. If so it's a shame not to get payback on the Sharks but it could also mean new rivalries, more original 6 match ups and all you east coasters don't have to complain about the games in the Pacific time zone anymore . With all that said it's been a pretty sucessful run in the West. Obviously none of this has been confirmed as yet but it's something kinda cool to think about moving into the off season .

Yea I agree, politics in this league move pretty slow but the rumors caught fire pretty fast today. I'm from the West and I would love it for the Wings to move East.

Great series and a great effort tonight by our guys playing with 9/10 forwards. 20 years of being a Wings fan and that one probably hurts the most. Adios folks, bulls*** with you all in a couple of weeks after the offseason bulls*** threads are done. And to the true Wings fans out there who stuck with this team until the end. CHEERS !

I agree. It's funny how the off season threads stopped after we started winning again..typical for around here I guess. If this teams works hard and their skill takes over they are the best team in the league. Throw in Jimmy Howard playing the best hockey of his young career and we still have a lot to look forward to in the coming years. Obviously minor changes will always need to be made because of age and free agency but the core of this team will remain intact and compete for some time. In Hockeytown we don't rebuild...we reload !

You have to be one of the biggest losers I have ever seen on these boards, and I've been around long enough to have seen plenty. It's like you live in a perfect world and you think all 20 guys dressed should be perfect every night. It's a team game you ****** and that's what allowed us to get back into this series.

If Babs had any intentions of benching Abby he would've done it for the rest of the game and he didn't do that, he had him out there about a minute after he got out of the box. Same lineup, same result please.

The 3rd period of that game was about as exciting as watching invisible people f*** which was really good for Vancouver but bad for anyone else on earth who was looking for some entertainment.
