Gilles whole game is pre meditated, he only knows how to do one thing and that's be a goon. The funny thing is that the box score has Gilles for 5 for hitting from behind? Clusterf*** is a tool and plays on the edge to say it nicely but to say that a guy deserves an elbow to the head is the exact mentality that is leading to all these concussions and dirty hits.

I agree, pre meditated slow motion elbow to the head. I don't like Cooke and think his hits are brutal too but at least his seem to come more at full speed and are due to some split second cluster f*** decision that goes off in his head. Gilles is a slug and should be hit big for this.

I agree..at that point with the amount of PP's we had all we needed to do was breathe on someone to get a penalty.

Thought we played a pretty good road game...drew lots of penalties..which doesn't mean s*** if the PP is balls !

The boys are sharp tonight, the usual bad start but they've been pretty pure since then. Howard has been great and Huds looks inspired which is an added weapon for this team come playoff time.

People are having a hard time grasping the concept that he has never retired before today.

Hot start ? We've done this almost every year for the last 20 except for last year. Getting off to a good 1st 40-50 games has been a staple of what this franchise is all about. We've been prone to these 15-20 games of mediocre play before. Although mediocre around here is some spoiled delusion. Creating this buffer allows us to have a spell of injuries or average play. I'm not happy with the way we are playing but myself and the majority of non panic cases around here know it's not about how you play in Feburary it's about being healthy and playing your best hockey come April which this team and franchise has a pretty good track record of doing. On a side not I believe that Joey Mac needs to start a few more games, not because I think he's a better goalie than Howard but because Howard needs some rest before we get to the playoffs.

And according to Burke he thinks they can still make the playoffs Way to say all the right things Burkie. I'm thinking that his senility is approaching Don Cherry levels.

The Mule on a side note in the user comments for this story if you scroll down you will see a comment from a user named Mindfly, I'm assuming this would be our very own LGW Mindfly and if you read his comments it will further convince you that he is lost: mindfly 1 hour ago I just wished he showed up for every game, became more of a consistent scorer, he's awesome when he gets the hat-tricks, 4goal games here and there but i would take consistency over streakyness. But at 3.9M it's a win-win even though the contract is long, not many teams would get a franzen for that money. Where does he come up with this stuff, it was the Mule's first career regular season hatty.
