According to you they are flawed and unreasonable but if I had the choice to listen to Bob Mackenzie or you I think my decision would be pretty easy. Chicago has pretty much been faced with every cap related ramification they could imagine, I don't think any immediate ramifications are much of a concern to them. They need to figure out how they are going to ice a team this year and doing some dirty and not so by the book things might be all they have left at the end of the day. They sold out to win a cup, they won their cup and now they are faced with the mess !

I agree. SJ gets put into the cup talks every year. This guy isn't going to make them worse but he isn't going to put them over the top. They will s*** the bed like they do every year. !

They weren't all attemtpted, Nylander is a prime example of this. I think what it really comes down to is whether Huet wants to play goal or not. He can try to negotiate a contract with the KHL where he is guaranteed to be the #1 goalie for a team or he can stay in Chicago, make his 5 mil and not be certain whether he's going to play or sit on the bench. They clearly don't have any faith in him and its not certain if he will be the sure fire #1 goalie even if Niemi was to leave.

There was an old timers tourney in the rink where I play this last winter and there was a team made up of ex Canadian Navy guys and they were called the CRUSTY OLD SEAMEN !

We not get more than a bag of groceries and a used jock strap for that guy. I don't throw our guys under the bus often but man was he bad. I have friends who are Canucks fans and have told them I would trade Raf for Bieksa right this second. They have both been terrible but at least we would save some salary !

The bad news is I haven't been this mad in a long time and I'm not one to get on the refs but I'm 31 and have been watching hockey since I was 5 years old and this ranks in my top 5 all time of worst reffed games. I'm not even that mad at the refs, I'm embarassed for them. The good news is that we are more than capable of beating these guys. Back to the Joe to win 2 straight !

You're probably one of those that gave up on this team at about the 50 game mark too? Its 2-1 and we still have one at home. I don't know about you but I've seen this team win 3 of 4 about 3432 times in my 20 years as a fan against better teams that these g uys !

I dont applaud what Cooke did to Savard and obviously head shots need to be dealt with but as the rules stood in the NHL on that night a shoulder to the head wasn't illegal. It sucks but those were the rules. As for Cooke I was glad to see him drop the gloves tonight, he better get used to sticking up for himeself which he seems to have no problem doing. To this day I say that if Steve Moore would've just dropped his gloves with Bertuzzi and taken his whooping like a man that situation would've clearly never happened but he didnt want to man up for hit on Naslund and although obviously I don't agree with what Bert did it turned out to be a terrible situation for everyone involved ! As for the NHL and the rules consistency well I dont think it's worth typing anymore !

If you think Lids is going to play next year for 3 million dollars you're nuts. Cmon give the guy some respect, I realize he is on the tail end of his great career but he is still top 5 in this league in terms of overall d men. If he decides to continue playing which I hope he will he won't make less than 5 a year and I would suggest that he will probably get a contract in the 6 million dollar range.

Thank you, I tried to explain this about 5 posts before this. He has had some very short spot duty with the Sedins this year but mostly has played with Kesler and Raymond who have also had good years coincidentally. Good shot, Big body, Feisty when he has to be...all things I think we would take back in a heartbeat including his 20+ goals !

He has barely played with the Sedins all year, they just put him on that line tonight to try and get the Sedins going as they have been slumping, turns out Sammy has a hat trick Burrows has been playing with the Sedins for the majority of the season. Love him or hate him Sammy could always score, he was a 20 + goal scorer on the Wings playing 3rd line minutes and 2nd pp unit !

While on the topic, Sammy has a hat trick tonight and a career high in goals

I hate to make excuses for anyone that makes 7 million dollars a year but does it not look like Z is hurt? His speed isn't too bad but he just doesn't seem to have that push that he usually has. No time to whine about it now I guess with 16 games to go but I'm guessing if we were comfortably in a playoff spot right now he wouldn't be playing. Since Stevie left this team it has been leadership by committee although Lids has the C but it seems like that committee has been taking a few too many nights off !
