I think the trickle down effect of all these injuries is really starting to show and Bertuzzi is the prime example. Bertuzzi was brought in to be 3rd line guy, 40pts would've been a good year for him but with all these injuries him and other guys have been forced to play minutes they aren't capable of anymore. I would almost guarantee that once Flip, Willy and Mule get back and Bert can get back to the 3rd line where he belongs that his game will be better than it is now. He can't play with Dats, he cant keep up, simple as that. Its a tough go right now, worst injury problems i've seen in my 20 years as a fan. You know something is wrong when Lids goes -3 and we have one goal in 11 periods.

I think Babs has enough respect in this league that if he be given the option to leave on his own rather than get fired. He isnt going anywhere anyways. He is way too good of coach.

Any time anyone starts a post with " I am a big fan but..." you know this guy/kid/dog/alien is ripe to jump right off the wagon. We will be roughly 6-8th in the conference by the time we get our injured guys back and it sounds like the Mule is ahead of schedule. We will be able to get guys playing the minutes they are supposed to and we will get this team cranked up for the last 30-40 games and get ready for the playoffs !

Exactly, The mediocre teams will find a way to trap and slow the game down regardless of the size of the rink. The Germans are masters at it. The rink could be 500 feet long and 200 wide and it wouldn't matter. The bigger the ice the more room it gives the bad teams to clear pucks without icing. Put those same teams on the small ice with the Canadian or Americans and they have no where to hide.

I thought we played good after the first 20. Ran into a good goalie. I know there isnt too many options with all the injuries but for the love of god can we please try someone else on the line with Dats and Homer. I've always been a Bert fan but he is a 3rd line hockey player at this point of his career and refuses to go into those dirty areas on the ice which a guy his size could dominate. I dont care who Babs puts with him but put someone like Miller, Abs or Helm that will go hard to the net and create some havoc. I thought Miller was good tonight. Put Eaves up there, I dont care, just get Bert off that line and back down to the 3rd line where he belongs !

So after he hangs up on you you call Illitch back and tell him to fire Holland for not repping this site we love or listening to our ideas and tell him to hire a new GM so the new GM can proceed with firing the coaches that you so eagerly want fired and we can all continue on with our average lives !

This team has depth for a reason. They arent going to go out and make a drastic trade right off the bat. They will let this go for a bit and see where the team and Franzen are in a couple of months. If they think he is going to come back they wont make a deal, if he is in fact done for the year then it will be time to make a move. We are still good enough to win this division and conference but we need some guys to step up.

I dont know why anyone would be all that suprised at what just happened in these first two games. Anyone who follows this team close and watches every game would've found this very similar to alot of our regular season play from last year. This team has no desire to team defence in the regular season, average goaltending and average special teams. Board the roller coaster because we will see alot of these kind of games this year. Its like they know they are good enough to go at 75% for the regular season and then turn it up come playoff time to make a deep run. Keep in mind that we had alot of guys who didnt hardly play in the pre season and the fact that the Swedish guys would have had obligations while in Stockholm. Dont get me wrong i hate this garbage regular season style but get used to it !

My post serves a purpose because it is pointing out the fact that this thread serves no purpose and it was a waste of 4 minutes of my normal life.
