Whether Bathgate was better than Shanny or other players isn't really what is bothering me here. His last season in the league was 70-71 I believe and judging by your profile you weren't even close to alive at this point of history. So taking a wikipedia article and copy and pasting it on this site with a bunch of stats and career awards doesnt have much merit when you never even saw the guy play.

You've been here long enough and so have I to know that this is the usual pessimistic crap that goes on around here. We lose 2 games in a row or for that matter play a bad period people lose their minds around here. You cannot be perfect for every second of every game of every season. I feel good about this team no matter what the roster and I won't change until they prove me otherwise !

How official does it have to be? He's young and he wants to make some loot...he's gone. Its all about perogies, snow and vodka for Huds now. I am so anti salary cap its not even funny and this is the price we have to pay in this era of hockey. Draft em, develop em, polish em and then when someone comes calling with more money they jump ship. It sucks but its strictly business !!

This has been bad business right from the start....Barrie has owed money since the purchase took place. For those who don't know Barrie made his money off the beautiful Bear Mountain resort in BC, Canada Bear mountain . He has recently been trying to sell the resort and has been negotiating with middle eastern interests. When the economy started to take a dive construction reached a stand still on the resort and rumors around here were that he was trying to sell. It sounds like the sale is getting close and may get even more sped up now that he needs 10 million dollars asap !! Here is a link to our local paper about the progress of the sale. Bear Mt. sale If you have between 2.5 and 3.2 billion you could throw your name in the hat and bid . It is beautiful .

Its seems we are five and a half hours into the free agent period and people are already counting our own Red Wings out for next year...typical for around here I guess !!

I play a little off season game on this site...I log on and as soon as I see a ridiculous 14 year old Nhl 09 for xbox roster I leave. Needless to say I dont spend alot of time on this site lately. People who think that Holland is going to go out and pick up 3-4 free agents and trade guys who already have played for this team for years are idiots really. Its not this teams style, it never has been and wont be as long as Kenny is the gm. From what I've seen its proven to be a pretty sucessful formula for the last 15 years.

I agree..the formula is pretty simple, if Hossa walks then Huds and Sammy are staying...if Hossa stays Huds and Sammy are gone. This place has become the random lineup generator. We were one game away from winning the Stanley Cup and we played with a ton of injuries to key players. No drastic changes should or will be made. There are other variables leading into these decisions also...we dont even know what the cap is going to be, we have no idea if any guys on this team may decide to retire all of a sudden. I keep hearing all these random names getting thrown around when people seem to forget that we have 3-5 guys of our own that are ready to be full time NHL'ers (Helm, Abdelkader,Ericson, Leino) . Not one of these guys has even played a full season in the NHl but by all accounts they are all ready. I would much rather give guys a shot that have developed in our system and have played some time with the big club then shake up the random name generator. I think we should all get used to the fact that we are going to see a very similar team to the one we used in the playoffs with Helm, Abs, Leino and Ericcson playing for the big squad for most if not all of next season. The D is pretty much set and the forwards all depend on the outcome of the Hossa situation !!

I have 4 jerseys, Lidstrom, Z, Yzerman, Blank.....I started the playoffs with Lidstrom and I dont take a jersey off until we lose a game. When we lose I move onto the next one !!

Does it matter who has looked better over all in the 4 games? the fact of the matter is this series is tied at 2 and the Pens have all the momentum. The first period of game 5 is going to tell us who is ready to step and take this series over !!
