Yes we do play in the Central Division..a divison we have won 1000 years in a row. A division where we rarely get any competition. Are the teams in the Central getting better?..of course they are but the aren't even close to the Wing's. The other teams in the central can continue to get bigger and slower if the choose. The fact of the matter is the slower and bigger and tougher they get the less of a chance they have agains the Wing's because they wont be able to catch us...we are faster, smoother, smarter and more skilled. As for grit..how many times does Pavel Datsyuk of Z go into the corner with a bigger guy and initiate contact and come out with the puck? I will take that kind of hard work Euro grit any day of the week over some 6'3 220lbs guy who can ram some guy through the boards but has no skill.

Eklunds site is 96% bulls*** and thats an (e5). I go there perioically just to see what kinda crap he is trying to stir up. Anyone can start a crazy rumor and look like a genius if it comes true. The problem with Eklund is when he's wrong about one of his (e5's) or (e4's) or his B9 or his I63's he never seems to man up and admit it.

An organization can never have enough goalies, its such a fickle position. They are going to give Howard every chance this year to make this team and prove himself...if he's up to the challenge. The Wing's can't leave him in the minors for another year and just let him rot down there, they need to get him some starts at the NHL level and see if he can cut it. If he can't cut it then there are obviously other options such as free agency, trade, or someone else in the system.

I agree with alot of your points, he isn't the same player he was a few years ago. The PK time is totally irrelevant (sp?), there are lots of guys in the league who dont kill penalties. His defensive game is the only thing that would concern me but a wise man once told me that you can teach a guy to play defence but its really hard to teach a guy to score goals...goal scorers are born with it. Nazzy can score and all we could hope for is that Babs could turn him into a semi responsible defensive player. I mean I'm not saying we can turn him into a Selke winner by any means but I think his desire to have a chance to win a cup and play with all his swedish friends just be the desire he would need to change his game a bit!!

I agree 100%, I said it in another thread that if Nazzy ends up in Detroit he will get 30 goals, he plays for the most boring coach with the most boring style in Vancouver. Watching the Canucks since Crawford left has been less successful and 10 times more boring!! He could be had for 4- 4.5 million a year I would think!!

I would almost guarantee Naslund would score 30 goals next year if we brought him here. He has been stuck in a system in Vancouver where some nights it looks like they aren't even trying to score goals. Obvioiusly it would all be about getting him here for the right price. For me it's not about his offensive production its whether he can play in his own end of the ice which we all know is very important when you play for the Wings.

The whole point of having Howard being the backup next regular season is to get him the experience he needs to become a good goalie in this league. Giving him 15-20 starts and then axing him come playoff time would make absolutely no sense. If he doesn't play good enough in the regular season they will send him down because he is not playing good not because they want more experience in goal...we already have that with Ozzie !!

In a perfect world we would have Lids win the Norris (it's a lock), Z win the Selke, Dats win the Byng and Babs win the Jack Adams. I mean ya gotta spread the hardware around. Can you imagine the size of the trophy case the Wing's would need to display all these trophies?

At the press conference today they said he was going to take some time and go to Europe to do some cycling. He said he wasn't sure what his future plans would be bute I'm pretty sure he will work with the organization in some matter in the future. Trev was a class act and did alot for the franchise and the community. I'm quite sure that his jersey will get retired on opening night next year.

Is D-Mac gonna coach and play? Will he be the Reg Dunlop of the NHL?

Where do people come up with this s***? Sammy does over handle the puck sometimes but it is always in places on the ice where he can't get the team in trouble. He is a solid player and it's just more typical Sammy bashing!!

I agree, he lost his job in the playoffs but from what I've heard he didn't whine about it and turned out to be a pretty good guy in the lockerroom. I really hope that guys like him and Chelios (as much as I respect them) pack it in this year because we can't let some of our prospects just rot in the minors...they need to get their shot at the show!!

Pretty crazy that we could put a lineup on the ice that could compete with anyone without having to sign a single free agent aside from our own. Sammy will be back.. 100%, love him or hate him he will be back.
