Wow there is some nice stuff there, I love the ring in the original post and I didn't see it in that brochure..I will continue my search. The Hurricanes stanley cup ring look's pretty sweet. Out of sheer karma I wouldn't let it grace my right pinky toe but it is nice none the less.
-
Thanks for finding that..the 2002 ring is awesome... I would love to find a replica of that because I don't think my beer league team has any chance of winning the Stanley Cup anytime soon.

Bring on anyone, all teams great and small..we can beat em all!!
-
Anyone have a video of this?

There was no way they were going to throw that kid under the bus this year. He's a great goalie and they have absolutely no defence. They weren't going to take the chance on him losing any confidence by getting shelled every night.

I thought the Drake-Draper-Maltby line was pretty solid yesterday so I don't think it would be Drake. The obvious choice would be Downey. Like Kylee said there is a good chance of some kind of rotation also.
-
Outwork them, draw penalties, score on powerplays, seem's pretty easy!!
-
Thank god for those of us with center ice that we get Ken and Mickey calling the game and not the Nashville announce crew. I hate to have Homer out but I think we will all be happy with the trade off tonight. Lids for Lebs and Homer.

1 Dollar beers would be much better :beerbuddy:

Barring a serious injury no bloody way. With the style Lids plays he could play longer than Chelios but he won't.

I didn't think the original hit was too dirty but the way he defends himself with his stick on Bourdon after is just brutal. It doesn't suprise me one bit coming from the The little TooToo train that couldn't!!

The original post was good. I think the statement about Stuart being more of a physical presense that Markov may be a little off although I haven't had the ability to watch Stuart play a whole ton so I won't argue you much about that. The success of our defense lies solely on the guy's playing minutes they can handle which we will get back to once the injured guys get back. Lebda and Lilja are not capable of big minutes but are both effective with the normal minutes they are used to. I think an intangibles category(team chemistry, sticking up for teammates etc...) would be a good one to add to the report card. I think we would be a +3 this year compared to last. Everyone seems to buy into the system we play and when we are going good everyone seem's to trust and stick up for the other guys.

Kronner has been the best wing one ice tonight for sure!!

I will be there tommrrow night and hopefully I will be able to give a good report on the game and maybe post some good pics. We will beat the Canucks but we really need to score the first goal because if they get the first one they will dumb the game down to a grinding halt!! Hopefully our young guy's on the back end can hold their own. I can't believe these people on this site just mailing it in for us to lose already...its really pathetic..we are good enough to beat the Canucks even with our depleted lineup.

Friday vs Calgary I will be on my couch, Saturday I will be in Vancouver, Tuesday I will be in Edmonton. 3 games, 3 wins, My wallet and my liver take a pounding!! Damn it's gonna be fun!!

I just got this from Red Wing's Corner, I remind you the Mike Babcock is a coach not a doctor "He's going to be fine," said Detroit coach Mike Babcock. "I don't know if he's going to be out a week or 10 days or what. He's got something mild in the inside of his knee. I don't know what the technical term is, but it just means that he's not playing right away." I sure hope he's right.
-
I look at this way...they are still the best and they are still the cup champs until someone knocks them off. I don't have to like them or like the way they play but you do have to respect they are the champs...for now. I don't think they are a better team then they were last year and I think we are. We lost to them last year but we proved we weren't intimidated by their style..if we get a couple pieces at the deadline or if we don't I don't have a worry about playing the Ducks, bring them on!!

I think his rug almost fell right off of his head!!
-
You should tell us how you really feel!!!
-
We are just working harder tonight in all 3 zones...we are making good passes in our end...flying through the neutral with speed and totally controlling the boards in their end. It's really promising to see how hard our d has played since Lids got hurt.
-
This is a good idea...anything to lighten up the mood around this place right now!!
-
QFT..good post...it's such a fickle pathetic line around here with people. For 50+ games people were horny for this team and now we lose a few games and its trade this guy, this guy sucks, our d sucks, our goalies are brutal. We played great for 50 games, built up a nice lead, now we are struggling a bit and i'm not blind we do need to address some needs but all we can hope for is this team gets it going at the right time of the year which is obviously very possible!!

Rules are rules I guess but that is a little bit ridiculous!!

Get used to it.

I think this logic is so flawed nowadays. Here is a scenario for you. In our next game against the Ducks Pronger takes a good clean run at Z and plaster's him into the glass and he breaks his arm in 11 spots (just an example, I hope the Karma police don't axe me down). Next shift we send out ________ <<<< (insert your favorite goon there) to take care of Pronger and they drop the gloves and have a good clean fight. Do you really think that because we proved one of our guys will drop the mitts with Pronger that it's going to deter him from running Z through the glass the next time he gets the chance? No bloody way it's going to stop him from doing it again because thats the type of game he plays. Guys like Pronger, Downie (steve), Simon, Harntell etc.... are the type of guys who have no respect for their fellow players and will continue to take liberties as long as they play the game. Back in the day when someone took a run at Yzerman Probert would be right there to fix the situation and the guy who took a run at him wouldn't come near Yzerman for a long long time out of sheer respect for Stevie and Probert. So when you go off about how it isn't 97, 98 or 2002 it is 2008 maybe you should think about that because the job of super enforcer and retribution is all but a dead issue these days. Im not saying that 100% of the time a good fight doesn't change the momentum or send a message and I love a good fight but I think it's almost purely entertainment value now and a dying art.
