Yzerman saw us griping and moaning about our soft Dmen after that first goal on Comrie, so he demoted Cholo and traded for a huge Dman. Yeah that's it.

My favorite thing about the game the other night is TSN just pumping the Laine goal like it was one of the best ever. He basically skated in a straight line and made a couple of little moves around pilons dressed up in Wings jersey's.

I don't think Kaski will ever play in the NHL, and I doubt this Kyle Wood guy will either. Seems like a minor league move. Maybe a replacement for McIlrath, since he's up with the big club?

It's a sad state of affairs around here. Remember the days when we would argue about who would play on the top line and the top PP because we had so much high end talent it was actually hard to decide. Now we are talking about a trade involving 2 AHL level D men. Yuck....

There is nothing classy about what I do. There's probably a pile of poppy seeds in the bottom of my work bag right now. And I usually have to hit on the front desk girl to distract her from the missing bagels, but they almost never go for that and I end up with the cleaning lady. Trick with the cleaning lady is to ask for extra lotion and help turning on the TV. You can steal that one if you like ;)

I'm married. These tactics are foreign to me but hey shoot your shot.

I bet he steals from the team buffet. I dunno why but I myself cannot stop stealing food, despite having plenty of money for food. It's like a primal instinct left over from college. I go to the continental breakfast at hotels and I just cannot stop myself. It's starts with one bagel slipping into my work bag, and pretty soon I'm making multiple egg sandwiches between bagel halves and wrapping them in napkins stuffing them in my pockets. I have no other klpeto tendencies. Plz help me.

Do you bring a bag and line it with plastic so you can throw stuff in there and keep it classy ?

I'm starting to think maybe the whole Zadina/McIlrath up n down n up again thing was the result of a trade falling through. And maybe this trade is the end result of all that. Whos knows.

What I've been able to gather about Wood: Has some offensive touch for a big man, but can barely skate.

Seems to be a necessary attribute to play D on the big squad. Bring him up.

You all noticed yesterday that a vet was sat in favor of a rookie...

From here....https://www.mlive.com/redwings/2019/02/red-wings-anthony-mantha-answered-bell-in-fight-excelled-in-loss.html important points bolded well at least in my opinion.

    "Ericsson scratched

Jonathan Ericsson was a healthy scratch to make room for Filip Hronek, up for his third stint with the Red Wings. Hronek logged 14:18 (no points, one shot, minus-1) and apparently will remain in the lineup

“I thought he was good tonight,” Blashill said. “I like Fil. We sent Fil down earlier in the year, he didn’t have a great camp, needed to get better at things. I think he’s gotten better. We sent him down again, my message to him was be the best player on the ice in the American League, stand out, look like you should be in the NHL, and I think he did that to a large degree after he stopped yelling at refs.

“He’s strong, he seals, he creates stalls in the D-zone, he can create offense.”

Blashill wasn’t happy with his defense in Saturday’s game and explained why Ericsson was the odd-man out.

“He was, for me, the worst of the six (defensemen) last night,” Blashill said. “He struggled. I think he knew that.""

    Hello buyout ...lol

Ericsson's lateral movement is so bad. If he can play in a straight line he's decent. He's a pretty decent passer but he's just not fast enough anywhere on the ice.

  7. I was at the game yesterday. There is times in the first 2 periods where I'm watching and can't for the life of me figure out why we are so bad. Then I looked at the scoreboard after 2 and realized we had 30 shots on net, carried the play and had 2 goals. They had us right where they wanted us because we can't put a team away and we cant hold a lead on the road and poooof. We end up losing.

Blashill is terrible. During the TV time out he doesn't say a thing. Kronwall, Nielsen, Larkin do all the talking. That says a lot to me.

Kronwall, Green and Hronek were our best 3 d. The other 3 are just filling space. Ericcson, DK and Jensen are 3rd pairing d men.

Top 6 on forward possessed the puck well but too much passing. It was painful. AA is basically playing 4th line minutes and going forward it does nothing for his development.

Last thought : The western conference is a dumpster fire. The Canucks are bad and they are in a playoff spot.

  8. I will ask you to refer again to our lineup without Green in the lineup.  Eats minutes so some of these other chumps don't play as much, plays the PP, Plays against top players and he can actually move the puck out of our end.  I know Green wouldn't be considered a true #1 anymore but he is the closest we have to one.

As for Blashill. Just listen to his post game pressers. He says the same thing every bloody time. " We can't dwell on that game, we just have to get better".............YOU AREN'T GETTING BETTER JEFF.
