face. Makes trying to win this West Coast series that much more important to to try to get back to one of the top 2 spots.

Nope. The person below me thinks this is funny.

Mickey, when he goes off on the refs it is funny (and often true). Like 'em both though. SouthernWingsFan or Jack

The Blues have 7 road games in a road starting to day, and 8 out of their next 9 on the road. They win a good chunk of those, then they might be in the driver's seat. Right now, I haven't seen any team even leaving the garage yet.

In my mind I would, but I'd prboably be a wuss about it. The person below me thinks that people of the opposite gender have cooties.

Of those two - worse only because I am extremely fortunate to live a normal and non-dramatic life so far. I don't like comparing lives to others though (not trying to give you a hard time for this obviously) or life being a competition to try to 1-up other people. I live my life and blessed to be able to enjoy my work pretty much every day as well as the rest of my life and pay my bills and that's fine for me regardless of income, relationship status, hobbies, whatever (and I'm definitely nowhere close to making a 6-figure income). What do you guys have to say about Filpulla now?
SouthernWingsFan replied to wingslionstigers's topic in General
Pretty much everybody has been giving Flipper his kudos this year. And Franzen himself has stated he sometimes gets bored with the regular season. And the hard work and hustle he had to eventually move into a top-line role permanently ebbs and flows sometimes, so while I'm glad he's on the team, I understand people's frustrations with him. Not really all that good of an I told you so post. The Captain Hindsight picture pretty much says it better than anybody else will in here. Have fun trying to convince the majority in here on this. -
With Big Rig, he would've gotten more on the open market given all the nutty deals to start off free agency in the beginning of July (just look at Ville Leino for example - apples/oranges if you look at it with him being a forward and Ericsson being a defenseman, but money wise he got paid big bucks whether he is worth it or not). I still think for the long haul he's worth it at present time. If he isn't, there's no reason why he isn't trade material, but I don't want this turning into yet another ripping on Ericsson thread. Smith is making it harder and harder to take out of the lineup. And honestly when Quincey got traded for, I thought Kindl was playing well. I'm not looking too far ahead yet but at least when healthy bodies start coming back for the rest of the regular season, I hope they consider keeping Smith in the lineup.

Alex Radulov returning nhl playoffs?
SouthernWingsFan replied to PredsFanTheBayouState's topic in General
If he comes back, good for them, definitely will help, but this is being quite overblown as him being the ultimate missing piece for this team. Radulov or not, doesn't change my opinion of the Predators - they'll still be a gritty solid team with solid goaltending pretty much every game and getting most of their goals on hard work vs. talent/pretty plays. Bring 'em on if we have to play them in the first round regardless of Radulov's status. I respect them but I'm not shaking in my boots. -
Deleted the one with so many people in it, here are a few of when I was running in the race. Just before the end. Another one just before the end. Finish Line

If you are referring to a physical fight from stupidity or a grudge or whatever, don't think that I have been in one. The person below me thinks that the Cookie Monster eats too fast.

That is your opinion and is not fact until it actually happens. You have to be mindfly. I've never seen somebody on here so down in the dumps and doom and gloom about everything. (No I'm not saying he's not a fan or what not, he cares and everybody in here cares about the team, I hate when people go that route, just getting really tired of this damned negativity and over the top pessimism not by just him but in general in here lately)
-
Everybody is going to have their preferences, I just basically want a high seed as possible moreso than ever this season since the Wings have barely been beatable on home ice (not using these recent games as much factor due to injuries), and less travel to a lesser degree. Other than that, doesn't matter who they play. If they are healthy and can match the other team's work ethic, they win more often than they lose. Of those three you mentioned, they've beaten them all this season at various points, bring any of them on.

Classic armchair quarterbacking. At the time, while Datsyuk was obviously extremely talented and a case could be made to easily re-sign him, he still did not get it done all that much when it mattered most - the playoffs, and he got grinded bigtime for it in here by plenty. I was glad they re-signed him, but the people who grinded him at the time, I perfectly understood their frustrations.
-
And you know this how? Both teams have 12 games left. Both teams have 89 points at present. The injury bug stinks lately but it's not like this team has been playing just downright awful even with the injuries. To say that they aren't going to win the division where there is still plenty of season left to be played for for both teams and so much undetermined still is absolutely asinine.
-
No. A little too much over-thinking. You play games to win no matter when they are on the schedule. In an 80+ game season and some with back-to-back nights/traveling grind, it is inevitable that some nights you will be off or tired. There will be adversity at times. There will be injuries, sometimes more than usual. It's not excuses or a cop out, it's just the nature of a lengthy season.

I'm good at doing both, but since I have a gym deal, I go to the gym. Eeeny Meeny Miney or Moe

Not lately, not for a long while. Don't really like showing people if I am aggravated or frustrated, don't want to bug people with problems I might have especially when it isn't worse than other people's issues. The person below me thinks this is funny.

What do you think needs to be done to fix the PP/PK
SouthernWingsFan replied to Jeff6851's topic in General
Lidstrom. Datsyuk. -
You can spin things any way you'd like on how we are screwed (and conversly people can spin things the way the want to say we will win), the injuries lately stink but to say they are done with 15+ games left when both teams are right on each other in the standings is absurd, in addition to pretty much no playoff series these days being a guaranteed out regardless of if it is 1-8 or 4-5 matchup. (EDIT: And to be honest even with all the injuries lately they haven't been playing all that bad) Where were you when the Wings were barely losing and the Blues hit a brief snag a few weeks ago? Wings were probably in the drivers seat then (Yes I get that a season isn't 60 games - my point is all teams have bumps in the road, etc.). Were the Blues in absolute deep trouble trouble then? I'd rather the Wings win the division obviously but I'm still likely feel good about their chances for a deep playoff run (assuming getting back to full health) regardless of if they were 1st/2nd or 4th, given how they've been dominant most of mid-season and with no series or matchup being a guarantee. Neither team is a slam dunk, yet, to win the division and it likely won't be that way until the last few games of the season. Again you can spin things all you want with how we are in trouble beyond repair but you don 't know that with plenty of season left to be played for. I certainly don't know that. Nobody in here does.

Damn it I'm 3 days too late with this one!
