Always look forward to playoff hockey, but I'm always so busy with work or pre-occupied with other stuff that I'm rarely distracted or thinking about games too much until they come on.

^ This x 1000. Lemieux shouldn't apologize for playing a rough and tough game and all that jazz, and perhaps not apologize for wanting to play aggressive and hit Draper in that specific play. I'd love an apology though for denting his face up ridiculously. That's all. He was one of the best clutch playoff performers in recent history, but a part of me just will always thinks he's a pretty big s.o.b. There have been other dispicable acts more/less that have severely injured players obviously - McSorely on Brashear, Bertuzzi on Moore, etc. I'm not interested in debating the severity of these hits or examples against one another, that's not the point. All of the examples above are inexcusable. At least for the Bertuzzi incident, he manned up and apologized. That's why I hold no ill will towards him and don't mind him being with the Wings and stuff. Never heard or read of the same from the other examples. I would love to sit down with Lemieux though to a drink or a chit-chat or whatever to know some of his intentions with the rivalry, the hit on Draper, whether he is really sorry, etc.

Absolutely asinine hit. Obviously for physical play and standing up for other players getting hit (and the first hit was questionable/iffy) but you don't clock people to the head with headshots. "Retaliate" with a big legal check or a fight where both drop the gloves. Unfortuantely the latter would rarely happen now.

Well, Howard was a big ? since he barely had much NHL experience before this season. Thankfully he has pretty much proven everybody wrong. I would pay you $10 though if you would've predicted this to happen though. It was quite possible that Lilja might not play again. Nothing was heard new of his condition until about a week or so before he finally got cleared to play again. And it still might be entirely possible that the Wings still miss the playoffs, even though they greatly improved their chances Monday night. Almost as much as possible as them getting up to a 5 seed which GMR rolled his eyes like a smart allec at. Way to go though with things that haven't nothing to do with the topic at hand though and the holier than thou attitude. Makes you look real good...

I read on here that I don't think it is possible, though I would love for it to happen largely for any future responses or rants from you just for the entertainment factor, because your disliking of Hudler is both extremely fascinating and a bit creepy at the same time.

I will! Travel and seeing new places is important to me. Going out of town for a few days in late April, annual summer family vacation around the 4th of July, and something possibly in the works for a few days in the fall out west in Utah or Nevada. The person below me thinks this is funny.

I HATED contacts when I tried them out. HATED them. Could never get them to adjust to my eyes, literally took me an hour to get them to settle on my eyes, they never worked properly. I like how I look in glasses. Sewage Smell or Junkyard Smell

Yep. Given the current makeup of the teams, logic could dicate Detroit wins against Edmonton, 7 or 8 times out of 10 (hypothetically speaking). Any one team can beat another team with just 1 opportunity given though, I don't care how good or bad the team is.

UNless Osgood gets money hungry (which is slim/none happening in all likelihood), he isn't going anywhere. He may have been very inconsistent these past two seasons, but stepped up when it matter most at least the past two postseasons. He's probably natuarally frustrtated about not playing much lately, just simply wanting to play more due to competitve nature, but he's not throwing a temper tantrum about it or holding the team hostage or whatever. He's being a good sport about it and really helping Howard out in becoming a full-time NHLer. Osgood may never fully have a #1 goalie job anymore, but he's earned the right IMO to retire whenever he wants to. He's given a helluva lot to this organization and still is underappreciated at times unfortuantely. I want him to retire a Red Wings and certainly hope he does.

Has little/nothing to do with jealousy of him, or crying that Red Wings players themselves are getting more pub or whatever. I don't care about Red Wings coverage or too much coverage of them/lack thereof or whatever. Plenty don't like him because has a questionable attitude or appearance in dead whistles/off-ice stuff and is quite often dull as sandpaper and gets way too much over the top attention, more than the merited/deserved kind. It's easy to dislike people who get too much attention like that, fair or unfair, especially when media seems to ignore or just brush aside questionable traits that aren't hard to spot. Pretty much everybody gets how good he is in terms of playing hockey and respects his skills. Those two things are independent of each other, and it's something that you are not grasping here. The off-ice dead whistle stuff is fairly important to a lot of people as well in terms of player attitude or liking a player's character. Now, is Crosby the only one who has acted like this? Probably not, but when he gets too much attnetion, fair or not, he become a target. I think he's a helluva hockey player and one of the best out there presently but he rubs me the wrong way still and media slobbers over him way as explained above. They could get other players more press time, it's irritating. I had to mute the Red Wings-Blackhawks NBC broadcast recently because they were talking too damned much about him, and he wasn't even playing in the game. It's like Tiger Woods in golf presently/recently or Tim Tebow in college football. Talk about the other athletes more. I'm not jealous of his game because I know I will never be a hockey player or athlete at an extremely high level. I'm definitely not jealous of his attitude/occasional whining. Is the disliking sometimes overzealous? Of course. People wouldn't be saying this stuff though if there wasn't some truth/merit to these things. I highly doubt people are jealous of him. What Steve Downie did was idiotic and Crosby didn't deserve it because Crosby wasn't doing anything to provoke that type of reaction, but plenty of people still dislike both these guys in spite of what happened in this play. This play didn't change that, and probably not much will for a while towards either player.

Would not mind having him back, assuming if he comes back the contract he has with the Wings was similar before he left in Russia. Was typically solid in his role as a PP specialist and chipping in points every now and then on even strength.

I don't like Crosby all that much but he didn't deserve to get intentionally hit in such a weird way when he wasn't doing anything to warrant such a hit. And this is a place of discussion, people are going to discuss the Downie-Crosby incident. *shrugs*

Meh, Cleary's just on a cold streak. Plenty of people go through them.

Jiri Hudler could cure cancer and AIDS, and it still wouldn't be good enough for you because you dislike him so much, quite often beyond any logic whatsoever.

Doesn't matter to me. The Wings can beat anybody when they play as close to a 60 minute game as possible. The question is can they do it enough times consistently to win 4 times out of 7.
