Absolutely pitiful that no suspension is resulted from this. It's going to take an NHLer to get paralyzed or something similar unfortunately before higher ups wake the hell up and realize that this happens too much, and that suspension rules are a joke in terms of how they are consistently enforced. Way too much subjectivity. I'm all for phyiscal play. But what Cooke did was absolutely chicken s**t. I will always love watching hockey but the consistency of such things like rules regarding suspensions with big hits like this and intent to blow the whistle and phantom interference penalties are just an absolute joke.

Here's how I'd pair them. Bertuzzi-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Franzen-Zetterberg-Cleary Miller-Filppula-Williams Draper-Helm-Eaves Top two are more of a 1A/1B dealie getting roughly equal time. If Bertuzzi goes cold, pair up Filppula with Datsyuk-Holmstrom as Datsyuk and Filppula have played on the same line off/on throughout the years with some success. As good as the Datsyuk line is now, Franzen-Zetterberg-Cleary was a killer line when it was used in the playoffs off/on last year, I would love to see Babcock go to that.

Nope. There have been moments in the past obviously being that I've been a member on here for a while but definitely not lately. Even if there were it'd probably be with people who could care less about the rating or rep thing that badly either. Some may not like me, that's fine, doesn't bother me at all. Not looking for acceptance or a fan club. I am who I am and probably not much on here will change that, nor will I change people on here myself in all likelihood. I don't have personal vendettas against anybody here nor would have much of a worthwhile reason to have one, especially when it comes to rating somebody in an Internet forum. Your guess is as good as mine is to what I might have done recently or over a lengthy period to warrant this, or over a lengthy period, because I don't have any grudges with people and nobody that I can think of has any beef with me to where I think I'm being stalked obsessively or where I should tell somebody to just leave me alone. If this is a revenge factor towards me for somebody or some people, knock yourself out I guess if it makes you sleep easier at night. It's pretty embarassing though.

As with most things, it's a little bit of everything in sports. Part of it is probably benefiting playing with the Sedins (if he has been playing with them, haven't really watched Vancouver much) or capable linemates, part of it is Samuelsson stepping up to the plate. It probably didn't matter what he did in Detroit, he was going to be a scapegoat to many here. Definitely clutch at times, but streaky as well overall. I wouldn't have minded keeping him (before his 20+ goal season or this thread), but glad he's doing well in Vancouver.

Jake Ryan, is that you?! Hehe, there was a member on here was that was all he did, either wanted Helm to always be on the top line or just ripping on Tomas Holmstrom. Just about every post of his was one or the other. But I digress, just giving you friendly grief. It's getting around that time to trying different stuff out I think, if the Wings go on any extended losing streak I think their goose is cooked in terms of making the playoffs. Helm has shown scoring touch at some points but is maddingly incosistent when it comes to scoring goals, and for now he's not here to score 10 goals a game or play on top two lines. It could be a viable option, but I think there are other things you can do before doing this like reuniting Datstyuk-Zetterberg, or perhaps Bertuzzi-Datsyuk-Holmstrom as that line had some success when there were a ridiculous amount of injuries, etc.

Wow, a -114 rating for myself presently. Seriously, I'm not all that special. Somebody honestly really needs to find better use of their time instead of just marking and spamming people's reputations on here up and down a bajillion points a day. I'll restate like on the previous page, I really don't care about my own status/rep thingy on here, it's just pretty pitiful and humorous the attention somebody is giving me regarding it. More of me being curious. Are there different filters or rules you can set on the reputation level if it is kept, or is this the best way the Web site environment works as it is presently laid out Matt? Because I wouldn't be too shocked if every now and then you're just going to have members who just don't like others (or overly like some people perhaps), and want to spam somebody's rep level to absurd numbers. It's happened to me two days in a row now. And I personally don't care and am not crying about it in terms of bad reputation, I think it could actually be a fun feature if used better/not spammed, just something else possibly worth considering whenever you get close to wrapping the Web site up. EDIT: To further and quickly add after I skimmed a few threads I typically go in most days being naturally curious, it's sad when you are the only one getting - rep posts, or reputation posts of any kind, in the Water Cooler when there is no other activity in there regarding the reputation status, either + or -. Random threads in the water cooler that have pretty much nothing to do with anything and are about as unharmful and non-offensive to people as it can get. There's no reason to really use the reputation feature in those threads over and over again since those threads aren't offending or don't have much to do with hockey talk typically.

Definitely, and in all likelihood in both of our cases it's option (B) as you outlined, as I post in the Water Cooler just about every day in the random silly/game threads or whatever you want to call them because I like that stuff. as non-controversial/unharmful as you can get in there. And I got - rep/feedback in there in just about every frequented/top thread, every recent post. And I have a pretty good idea of who I think the person is who did it, highly doubt it was mutliple people. That person will remain unnamed, though the person knows who he/she is and hopefully knows how sad and ridiculous it is.

No. I could really care less about reputation or status on here, and I'm not going to rate people's rep on here with the +/- thingy.
