It was pretty nuts for most of the day, but what's crazy is that Mardi Gras season is going on at the same time right now - there was a Mardi Gras parade going right through downtown yesterday afternoon. After the game I celebrated in the massive crowds and stuff in the FRench Quarter for a couple hours before heading home around midnight. Being responsible and having to work today sucks.

No. It is impossible to deny that overall the Wings defense the past two season has gone downhill. I don't get on the coaching staff or McCrimmon's case like some do in here but lately the blown leads have just been terrible. I don't get too worked up if 2-goal leads are blown, it is definitely not unusual (even Phoenix when they scored both late to tie up), but three goals up is absolutely no excuse whatsoever. A lot of it has to do with player execution, or lack thereof, but the caoching staff or defensive coach has to play a part of this as well. I'd hardly call McCrimmon a scapegoate with the Wings defensive play lately.

No. He played defense in Grand Rapids in the minors. Rookies are going to struggle from time to time.

I think if Leino either could go back without clearing waivers or would accept playing in Grand Rapids again, he'd still be in the organization. Wish he could've worked out here, but he didn't help out his cause whatsoever to justify staying. Best of luck to him in Philly.
