Williams has a career shootout percentage of about 40%. That is extremely effective. You put your best guys out there to score. Sometimes you don't, s**t happens. Not that hard to figure out and not really worth over-analyzing.

I still like them. You can still have them without having a dinky point for losing in overtime or a shootout. 0 points for a loss at any point in a game, no questions asked. 1 point for a win in a shooutout. 2 points for a win in overtime. 3 points for a win in regulation. You get rid of your "parity" right there.

Dude. It's Saturday. Most people's day off. You should be happy. If it's the forward corps, unfrotuantely May's just in a bad spot. I'd be very surrpised if anything is done with Maltby in terms of movement, so at worst I think he'd be scratched off/on. I'd be surprised as well though if May gets claimed on waivers, assuming they do this. Leino's been disappointing but I don't think higher ups are yet to give up on him though, see if he still has potential, still young and all that stuff. If you include d-men, one of Lebda or Meech.

Yep, just a bit, and I'm not joking. While Osgood certainly left a lot to be desired in the Minnesota game and his game at Washington, Howard until last night wasn't much more magnifique either during the stretch of recent bad games for the Wings. A lot also had to do with defense playing like ratpoo recently as well. While there's no doubt Howard has played better over all, it isn't solely just Osgood not doing his part either and yelling "OSGOOD BAD! OSGOOD BAD BAD BAD!" Continue to roll your eyes if it makes you feel more warm and fuzzy, but it hasn't just been about Osgood not playing well lately. Red Wings goaltending, making Red Wings fans, generally speaking, sound like idiots more and more everyday.

While Howard certainly played lights out tonight (and is still the guy to get the majroity of starts in all likelihood), and has been a bit better overall that Osgood's limited time in their recent slide, this is all just hyperbole and speculation on your part.

No. While the Wings consecutive postseason run of 18 in a row will eventually come to an end, and it could possibly be this year, on paper at least their current roster when healthy/close to it is still pretty dangerous. Part inconsistency, part injuries are the major factors of why they might not make the playoffs, but I doubt there will be a whole lot of dropoff with this team if they miss altogether or go out of the postseason early.
