I know you're a big Osgood fan, and I certainly don't get too worked up if people yammer in the press, but they were still controversial comments nonethless and Osgood hasn't justified himself playing full-time or getting the majority of the starts, albeit not playing all that badly. Him not winning last night and letting in 2 goals under a minute, whether they were his fault or not, doesn't help his cause after he yammered his mouth just hours before. And with fans turning on players of their favorite teams if they aren't quite playing up to stuff, you could see this coming from a thousand miles away. You could see it from a million miles away when it's about a goaltender for the Detroit Red Wings given how Red Wings goaltending in here makes people that much more stupid. I'd love it if everybody was peachy king like yourself towards your favorite athletes. Completely unrealistic expectation though.

If the season ended today, yes. There are plenty of games left still though to make the playoffs. There isn't 75% of the season left anymore.

While Osgood didn't steal a victory, pinning this loss on him would be pretty absurd as well.

I know, I'm definitely not trying to dismiss that, which is what one of my blurbs more/less said that I don't believe higher ups aren't out to "get us". Refs though have just gone so downhill to me this year, and that is something I almost never really thoguht about voicing displeasure towards overall.

Just get rid of the point you get even if you lose alltogether. I know it benefited the WIngs these last two games but you're being awarded for not winning. The whole concept is silly. If we aren't going to Win-Loss-Tie anytime soon... 3 points for a win in regulation 2 points for a win in overtime 1 point for a win in a shootout 0 points for a loss at any time in a game, no questions asked

Order in shootouts is fairly irrelevant if you have the same 3 people shooting all the time as it is slim/none that you won't win in just 2 attempts.

After looking at it again and trying not to just be absolutely going apes**t over the call, it's one of those 50-50 calls that could have gone either way. From the angles we got on the TV feed, it certainly didn't look that way IMO. Who knows if Toronto has other looks or not. If we just have those views and angles and if we're going by football rules in replays to where there has to be conclusive evidence to overturn a call, I honestly don't think it should've been called a goal. But maybe replays in the Toronto offices show something different, that'd be my only other logical guess that why Ott's SO goal was good. No other possible camera angles for the fans is what's going to keep this irritating so...

I'm not mad at May because he plays a role that serves a purpose on the team, that while important, isn't of utmost importance to do every single game in order to help the Wings win. May doing his job, or lackthereof according to you, wasn't a big reason why the Wings lost. May's been fine.

Dead? While Howard's been great obviously and is the goalie of the hour/month/whatever you want to call it right now, there's still half a season left. Nothing's dead when you have half a season left. And Osgood was "world class" or whatever you want to call it the past two seasons in the playoffs. That wasn't too long ago.
