The NHL isn't rigged against the Red Wings, the officiating and the like is just horribly inconsistent league-wide.

When hockey used to come on ESPN, my dad would have it on at nights while he was doing other work during my kid days, so I slowly started gaining more interest watching the sport. That and me/my brother hada few hockey video games at the time. Just decided to start like the Red Wings in the 95-96 season and there ya go...

Was never really treated fair here, generally speaking. Not including some iffy playoff goals his first year here when he still had great numbers, he performed great during his brief time as a Wing. :beerbuddy: to a great career!

Wish more people would speak out about this. Refs definitely have a hard job, but I never understand why you cannot comment on officiating or you'll be reprimanded or fined - in any league. It's stupid.

Perhaps short-term, but I haven't heard anybody declare a starting goalie for the long term or playoffs. Right now, you ride the hot goalie and it is Howard and if that's done for the rest of the season, so be it. And to be perfectly clear, I am neither an Osgood only fan or Howard only fan or Osgood hater or Howard hater, so do not label me as such. I'm a Wings fan and want what is best for the team. If that means Howard? Fine. If it means Osgood? Fine. Nobody is done though and there is no starter determined yet for the long term or playoffs.

Sadly, this is not the first time I've seen something like this happen. I believe it was at another hockey game, New Orleans had a minor league hockey team in the late 90s when I was in high school and I went to a game and there was a laser pointer there. I also had a punk flash a laser pointer at me at my college apartment while I was putting up Christmas lights on my balcony. I love a good joke or prank but laser pointers can ruin your eyesight bigtime. There aren't something to have fun with.

Definitely not a bad thing when/if Howard hits a dry spot. Right now you can't justify much reason for taking Howard out over the immediate short-term IMO but the starting goalie for the playoff is nowhere close to being determined yet.
