If they want to dislike the record or spin reasons why the record doesn't count or isn't special, that's their deal. Doesn't change that a record has been set. Let them have fun with that.

Nope, not in a rush for anything in particular. The person below me thinks this is funny.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Conklin is in the playing deck anymore (as the #2 guy) once Howard returns. I was never one of those on here that thought he stunk from minute one when things starting going south for him some this season. Team didn't play all that well in front of him, it wasn't just him alone, but he certainly didn't help himself obviously. I like Conklin and think it'd be cool if he is still in the organization once Howard gets back but say they put him down to the minors and somebody claims him - while I like Conklin that probably wouldn't be too big of a loss with MacDonald emerging and the likelihood of trading for a backup going down now.

Bigfoot. I have no clue who Nessie is. And the end of the world hasn't happened anytime soon, the nutty predictors of the end of the world have always been wrong, no reason why I should believe otherwise or take them seriously. The good news with the penalties Abdelkader took last playoffs is that they are typically easily avoidable and rarely the norm. He's obviously done nowhere near that this year. Nothing wrong with him. Wish we could see more offensive numbers from him but 6 goals on a 3rd/4th line role isn't bad at present. Works hard and busts his rear end every game, is one of the more phyiscal Wings, drops the gloves every now and then when necessary.

Pretty much agree with the majority here. One of the better players in the league at present time, but takes pissing/moaning to absurd levels when things don't go his way. I get natural frustration if you are losing a game or getting beat big (i.e. game 4 between Wings-Sharks two playoff years ago) and wanting to play more physical or start a natural one-on-one fight to charge your team up, but again, goes way off the deep end with things at times. Part of me would like to have him on the Wings because he is so talented, part of me says forget it because he has a whiney attitude whenenver things go south for him/his team.

Nice try. You make it sound like your point is a brand new intervention. Got news for you, it isn't so you can stop stroking your own ego. I already knew that was probably going to be your point before it even came out of your keystrokes, and people here already understand that he's had injuries sometimes. However you also proved my point that... You are only involved in Cleary talk here It's always in an over the top negative fashion (critiquing people, no problem which is what most in here do and are fine with, you are not doing that) that makes you sound like an a**, never recognizing his good qualities. If you think his cons outweight the goods, that's fine, but contrary to your popular belief, he isn't garbage or injured constantly that makes him overly ineffective. You are making this injury a bigger deal than it is when he'll likely be back on the ice fairly soon. Given your over-the-top obsession for the guy, even when he's doing good...I'll ask for the last time, why should we take anything you say about him seriously?

Like Indiana Jones, you betcha (and probably my favorite part of that movie ). The person below me likes to spin around in a circle and get dizzy.

I like to figure things out on my own if I can first but if I'm stumped, ask around, doesn't hurt anybody. Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian from the Star Wars movies) or Mr. Honker

And you doing nothing else in this forum but bagging on him is not shocking either, so why should we take you seriously? And spare us any "I told you he was injury prone" or "I knew I'd be right all along" or "Cleary lovers" type responses.

Pretty much it. As long as mistakes like that aren't the norm and the player is giving the effort, I'm rarely going to go nuts on a guy for making a mistake or brainfart. Happen to pretty much everybody. Miller is not overly physical and will never be a 30-goal scorer but he busts his rear end pretty much every play which is his most important quality for this team. Good to see him get rewarded on the stat sheet some lately.

Probably Pittsburgh because it is more recent (and more primarily that in the recent past they have often been shoved down our throats constantly when we don't ask or need to hear about them as opposed to us playing them in the Finals two years in a row). If you go by they beat us the last time, I perfect get that and obviously and probably the top reason, but I don't like getting into heated/hate rivalries all that much. While the loss sucks (and I'm sure Pitt fans felt the same way the year before), it has more with my favorite team losing than the other team winning. Since we are talking about other teams with rivalries, San Jose perhaps, but I don't really think about them much one way or the other. And in terms of other rivalries we had in general (not so much talking in terms of revenge), the Avalanche rivalry is all but done now with all the names from the late 90s/early 00s passing. St Louis and Chicago I always enjoy beating, but moreso because we beat the team in the same division, not really because of fans or sticking it to anybody or things like that. I don't get into the rivalries as much partially because I'm not from the areas and probably don't experience either sets of fans.

Fans are going to be fans. A lot will say that the referees are going to be against them from minute one, no matter what the team is going to be. We've seen plenty go against us for intent to blow the whistle on disallowed goals to phantom goalie interference calls on Holmstrom and who knows what else. And I absolutely dispise when fans rant that officials blew a series or caused a loss and act petty whenever it is clear black or white that your team simply just lost. I'm going to be one of the first though to call out when an official blew an obvious call or a stupid rule like phantom interference/intent to blow screws over a team. I hate when fans act petty and I also hate when officials play a bigger hand than necessary in determining the outcome of a game. Happens to all teams. I rarely ever go this route but our last game against Vancouver, it was a rare game where we actually benefited from some goofed up or missed calls that could have favored Vancouver. Could they have won the game if they got some of those calls? Perhaps, perhaps not, but the refs were not that great in that game, and for a rare time the Wings were fortuante benefactors more often than not.

No idea who he or she is. The person below me has tried something like this before with success.

Pretty much exactly how I feel. Not trying to solely defend Conklin, maybe I am, but the team didn't show up well for him last night and a good bit this season. Obviously he himself has certainly not helped his own cause either. I'm not against anything in terms of the backup goalie position, but I don't think it's time to officially declare a move/trade for a backup. While I do have a soft spot some for Conklin, I really just wish I could understand why the continued hesitancy towards MacDonald. I'm not trying to make him out to be more than he is, but last season in extended relief, did as good as you could ask for. Last night, the same. If Conklin continues to struggle, why not promote MacDonald up to #2? If worst comes to worst and you have to put Conklin on waivers and nobody claims him, I wouldn't think that three goalie salaries in the current roster makeup would put a lot of pressure on their salary cap (please correct me if I am wrong, I don't follow salaries/the cap situation at all). And I want to state that in this situation it would make me very happy if Conklin stops struggling, but his chances are getting fewer and fewer obviously.

My first guess like many others have said is conditioning and getting back into game shape. He's done well the few times he is in. Emmerton hasn't been playing like chop liver though either. Not great but far from terrible. I'm fine with either of them in.

Would rather New York win because their QB is from here and I actually went to grade school with him, but I am unfortunately thinking New England wins this time around. The person below me likes to push buttons in places like the car, elevator and kitchen for no apparent reason whatsoever.

I don't know what either of those are. Chow I guess. Funnier height discrepency... Nathan Gerbe (5'5") and Tyler Myers (6'8") or Jimmy Graham (New Orleans Saints Tight End, 6'7"_ and Darren Sproles (New Orleans Saints Running Back, 5'6")
