Gotta purchase NHL CEnter Ice to watch it on TV. If your TV has a computer hook up, you could find online streams of games and hook your computer up to your TV and you're set. Not as good as TV quality, but you still get the gist of the game. atdhe.net and www.channelsurfing.net usually have streams of game where quality is respectable, and they are free. Those sites are great, they show broadcasts of pretty much any sport you can think of. Hockeystreams.com is another alternative that you pay for, like Center Ice. I use that primarily for archived games if I miss a game that night/day. Much cheaper than Center Ice.

We Should Have Gooned it Up These Last Two Games
SouthernWingsFan replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
I still don't get why some still expect or get disappointed when the Wings don't "goon it up" when they have not been this type of team for a good bit and probably won't be for a while. Not sure why you would be setting yourself up to get heartburn over and over again. -

Chicago chants "Detroit Sucks" when Hawks play other teams?
SouthernWingsFan replied to Miller Brew's topic in General
The same thing. I'm not going to start a focus group on millions of different scenarios of why some fan bases might be better/worse than others. Every fan base will have their share of morons, Chicago and Detroit included. As long as people aren't disrespectful to others, cheer and be a fan all you want. Saying somebody sucks as a chant is far from being disrespectful, they could say much much worse. -
Would you take Ilya Kovalchuk if Lidstrom retires?

I find it really amusing how way too much is being read into this. If you all keep it simple in thought in that fans are going to be fans and boo big-named players when they used to play for your team (regardless of who your team is), you could have seen this coming from galaxies and galaxies away. This shouldn't be so stunning or disappointing to people. It's not bad, it's not good, it is what it is. Detroit fans are no better/worse going about this than Pitt fans, Chicago fans, whatever.

Also, most fans aren't going to care or remember about why Hossa was here or the details of taking less money or whatever. And they especially aren't going to care in the heat of the moment, during the game itself.

The Positivity of all the injuries *right now*
SouthernWingsFan replied to Miller Brew's topic in General
Injuries stink. Just got to hope they keep a respectable record before they heal up for the most part in mid-January. 3 losses in a row stinks but if you look at the last 7, they are 4-3. Not horrible considering how depleted they are. Just don't go on any ridiculously long losing streaks (3 isn't one of them) and they should be fine by mid-January. -

This is not a goon team. I don't know why some keep expecting it to be. It's not going to be in the near future. -
I absolutely got nothing against Hossa. I'm glad that he tried to help the Wings last year. He wanted to go to Chicago this year, good for him and that's his choice. He owes nothing to Detroit, Wings fans owe nothing to him. But he's not with the Red Wings anymore, he's with the enemy. That means some won't like him anymore, and that he was going to get razzed tonight. Fans are going to be fans at games, especially when it's big-named players. You could've seen this coming from a million miles away, at minimum just because fans will be fans and boo or be a part of the crowd to "fit in" whether it is correct or not. Not hard to figure out. This is nothing more or less than Avs or Blackhawk fans saying Detroit sucks, or Nashville fans razzing goalies with "Goalie Name YOU SUCK" after the goal or Pitt fans when they booed Hossa or whatever else. Nothing wrong with any of these things. Fans could do MUCH WORSE in any of these situations. It's called having some fun. Let the fans have their fun as long as they are going it in a civilized or respectful manner. If it's just booing, that's rated-G stuff that I would hardly consider disrespectful or offending. I'm sorry, but some of you all are losing your cookies way too easily here on this one.

Even though you don't say it, you sound like you want fans to be on their hands and silent. This isn't church. -

If they want fight Doan, I'm all for it, but to think he needs to be "dealt with" or the Wings need to "send him a message" is absurd when (1) Doan isn't a jerk with an attitude problem, (2) the hit/incident wasn't dirty, and (3) hockey is a phyiscal game and unforutnate stuff like this happens sometimes. It happened, it sucks, quit making the situation something it isn't by overhyping it (not saying you are specifically) deal with it, move on.

It's called sarcasm. And who are these soft euro lovers that have been saying that enforcers are completely useless? I'd love to see some post examples from the past or some things members have exactly said about this. Who are they? I think plenty people realize enforcers have their place in hockey. You are generalizing just as much as I am, if not worse.
