Ugh, I want to be fully happy that my alma mater made the BCS, maybe I will be soon, but I just cannot fully be happy. Not because of Texas beating Nebraska in the Big 12 Final to possibly go to the N. Championship (that last call adding the second on stings obviously, but it was the right call). But because we have to play Boise State again. We went that route last year playing them in a bowl game when they were undefeated and we won. Why do we have to do this again? Also, this might not be the direct message, but it's a slap in the face IMO to both schools. Nobody wants to play either TCU or Boise State because while we might not beat "big named schools" 9 times out of 10, the odds are still good to consistently beat them and to defiintely win at least once. We're both being treated like red-headed step children, and of course they have to make us play each other. What does it prove? Nothing.

Not really, considering there is still about 70-75% of the season left to be played and we're hovering around 8th and there is so little cushion for most of the top seeds right now. Bad teams will play themselves out/fall out of the playoffs and Detroit will be fine once they get healthy. Got a long way to go before the season's over.

His job is defense first. Points will come in time given his time on the PP, offensive talnets, etc.

People go on hot/cold streaks all the time. Lidstrom typically produces more in the 2nd half of season. And Lidstrom's job is to play defense first, being a defenseman. Not worried at all.

The most annoying and pathetic rule out there, with the phantom interference all not far behind. It's not a "We're all against the Wings agenda", it's not a pro-Penguins thing. The rule is just terrible.

Meech hasn't been that bad to me, but that's beside the point since I'm probably in the minority thinking that. Lebda, the opposite... That being said, if the Wings were healthy, sure I'd be more willign to part ways with them. But the Wings aren't healthy, and Lebda and Meech are better than minor leaguers or no depth at all.

Chicago is definitely good. We definitely have a shot to go back to the Finals if (1) get healthier/stay healthier and (2) play more consistent. (2) will come a bit more when (1) slowly improves. As iffy as things are right now, much more than we're accustomed to, I still see no need to think the WIngs won't make the playoffs at all.
