It's not a love tap on the wrist like Pronger in the playoffs, twice, in 2007, but 5 games for something like this is still too generous IMO. 10 games I think would send a stronger and pretty much the apporpriate message. Willams was doing neither great/bad, and he was doing better than a lot of other players before he got injured. And being happy that somebody got injured is chicken s**t.

Definitely didn't work last night with the top line with both Holmstrom and Bertuzzi struggling. I still like the speed line of Draper-Helm-Eaves though, which leaves them in a bind with 2 centers on one line which would make it harder for Datsyuk and Zetterberg to go back together.

I went out last night and ate dinner for the end of Texas' game this weekend and chit chatted with a few UT fans for a while, told them I'd love for somehow that TCU and UT played for the National Championship. Selfishly I obviously want everybody ahead to lose for my school, but that's slim/none happening. Told them I got nothing against UT, like them a good bit, and they got no animosity towards my school right now. Though in any fanbase you're going to have your a'holes, so there are probably a few TCU and UT a'holes to the extreme out there. And even though we're competing against Boise State for that non-BCS spot or whatever, I'd juist love for both of us to crack it, make the BCS more chaotic than ever. As for national championship, I'd obviously love for it to happen but have never gotten my hopes up too high for it this year given how everything is played out. I'm not going to get on a soapbox about it saying why we deserve to play for it, why we're better than other teams, whatever. There's no point to it, the BCS is f'ed up and is what it is, my soapbox rants aren't going to change jack squat. I'm just enjoying the ride and just extremely thrilled with this season to what will be a likely BCS berth (given that our final opponent is 1-10 and we play them at home).

And all 3 teams we've beaten are ranked in the top 25 right now (though 1 will drop out in all likelihood with Utah and BYU playing each other). Boise State has only played 1 ranked team, so has Texas.

My alma mater wore those Nike unifroms last weekend. Most of the models have been very plain but ours stood out A LOT IMO. I liked 'em. And I am extremely excited. We are 11-0 right now, 1 win away from a BCS bowl and our last game is against a team that will be either 0-11 or 1-10.

Unless the offense just goes really in the crapper (2 games in an 80+ game season does not count), I just don't see much point yet in reuniting Datsyuk and Zettterberg on even strength when lately the Wings haven't had too much trouble scoring and with injuries galore right now. If that happens, you might want to split up the Speedy Gonzales line since both Helm and Draper can play center without trouble. Not much can be done to switch stuff up right now IMO.

This. The intent rule still needs to be scrapped it is terrible. Either you blow the whistle in time before a puck crosses the line regardless of if it's covered or not (no goal), or you don't (goal). I wander if auto goal sensors could be installed when the puck goes into the net.
