Honestly, should we really have expected anything different? With blunders like Wednesday, does Bettman and co. ever answer questions directly? Very rarely, in my opinion. There's always sidestepping. I know you have to support your employees, in this case officials, which is fine. I think a lot more of people though when they admit they were wrong and not try to dodge questions to not be embarassed. It's all right to admit you made a mistake, and try to move on from it. Don't cover up though or say that nothing is wrong, that makes it even worse.

There is no conspiracy, and it is absolutely so irritating to see or hear fans act in paranoia or think that the entire world is against their team. They aren't, and I hate when Wings fans act like this. Plenty of teams get bad calls against them. And it's largely not the officials either, at least from last night's gaffe. Just horrible rules being set forth in Toronto. Fix some of the damned rules. Either you blow the whistle to stop a play before the puck crosses the line resulting in no goal, or you don't blow it in time resulting in a goal. No intent to blow the whistle, no gray area crap. Strictly black and white, simple. That rule is such a joke.

I just paid for a 6-month option. The last game Saturday night didn't work quite well, but in the long run I'm pretty confident that this will be a good investment. While I love watching Wings games sometimes there's other stuff more important going on weekenights for me in terms of family stuff or personal networking events or whatever. I can watch archives of the games whneever, which is why I purchased it. I've missed a few games so far this season but caught up on one of them late last night and will slowly/surely catch up on others that I miss as time permits. I don't have a DVR and this is cheaper than NHL Center Ice, so I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with the purchase.

I like shootouts, I like the 1-on-1 battles. I'd consider moving it to 5 shootout opps. IMO, 3 is just to little, but that's not too big of a deal. The problem is the point system for losing in a shootout or overtime. Why should you get rewarded for losing a game? You certainly aren't rewarded for losing in overtime during the playoffs. Zero points for a loss in regulation, overtime, or a shootout, no ifs/ands/buts. One points for a shootout win. Two points for an overtime win. Three points for a regulation time win.
