Definitely agree with you on the fan base. I barely even watch baseball and I get sick and tired of hearing about the Yankees-Red Sox series whneever they play each other. We get it. You don't like each other. You haven't liked each other forever. I don't need to hear about it every. single. time. you. all. play. each. other. And, as I don't watch baseball much, I don't really know how revenue sharing or things like that work without a salary cap work with baseball. You still got to give due where it is worth though. Under the current rules/system, Steinbrenner does what he thinks is best to bring a competitive team to try to win championships year in and year out. If I had the money I'd probably do the same thing. Sometimes it doesn't work. This season it did. Good for him and the Yankees. Blame the system for this to happen, not Steinbrenner and the Yankees.

I have an idea, let's panic after every. single. loss. because nobody EVER loses a game in the NHL other than the Red Wings! And let's panic in November that we are just completely f**ked beyond repair during a season that doesn't end until at least April!!!

No, I don't wnat to trade Osgood. I wouldn't mind trading threads like this whenever he ebbs/flows on both extremes of play though, considering that it happens to pretty much every team and every player throughout the course of a lengthy season. Plenty of eople are going to have hot and cold streaks or extremely good/clunker games all the time when a season is over 80 games.

Teams get called out plenty throughout a season. While I won't deny that we've witnessed seeing the Wings get hosed on calls in the past (Holmstrom phantom interferences, Hossa no goal call in the playoffs vs. Anaheim, etc.), it's not like we're the only ones who get hosed. We just notice them more because we are the Red Wings fans. We've also benefited from possibly iffy calls. Zetterberg's goal last game and the "net" goal versus San Jose last yaer (which ironically happened b/w the same team two seasons ago where San Jose scored a goal off a puck going into netting above the glass). Weekes may not be completley on the mark here buit this is silly stuff to lose sleep over. All teams are going to get good/bad calls throughout the course of a year.

All teams get their fair share of good AND bad breaks during the course of a game or season. It all tends to even out at the end more/less. Not worth getting worked up about.
