However you deem Versus coverage and who is ultimately at fault is entirely subjective IMO and is an endless debate, but it's a damned shame that these two can't get their acts together and fix the problem sooner. I know college football isn't the main squeeze for many here and networks like ESPN/ABC and CBS and Fox Sports sometimes have more intriguing matchups over Versus, but this weekend will be the 2nd time Versus/DirecTV missed an opportunity to broadcast a pretty great college football matchup. First one was Florida State vs. BYU when BYU was ranked in the top 10 during the 2nd/3rd week of the season. This weekend my school TCU which is ranked in the top 10 plays BYU which is around 15 on Versus. And this game is probably the biggest college football game of the weekend, in terms of general interest of people liking to watch football and sports. In football, Versus covers Mountain West Conference games (which my school is a part of), Big 12 confernece games (I think they get 3rd choice of coverage after ABC/ESPN and Fox Sports), Pac-10 games (same more/less as Big 12, but had a good matchup last Saturday night with Arizona-Stanford), and Ivy League games (Harvard, Yale, Brown, I-AA schools, etc.). Honestly, coverage and what annoucers and media says in sports I typically don't worry about. Just show games on somewhere, and be available to as many people as possible. We have more TV options than ever before, yet it seems it is much harder to watch games at times due to whatever ridiculous factors.

Last year at times, sure. Overall, not really.

Neat stuff. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...xecutive_j.html EDIT: Thread topic wouldn't take whole title on one line. Mods if you could modify if you see necessary, much appreciated. -
Yep, about 4 years ago, and a lot less though some at present moment. The person below me wanders where's Waldo.

Well, that's not happening anytime soon for better/worse so I'm not going to cry over spilled milk about it.

Unless Florida and Alabama implode, Boise St. and TCU won't play for a championship in all likelihood assuming one/both are undefeated still. Which honestly I'm fine with. The BCS is an f'ed about system regardless of if you're in a "big" conference or not (OU/Nebraska getting into title games without winning the Big 12, Auburn going undefeated a few years ago but not playing for a National Championship, etc.) that there's little point to me in bitching or getting on a soapbox about it anymore. It's been messed up and unfair for years. I'd go with Texas, then an undefeated Cincinnati team then Iowa undefeated team then a 1-loss USC team.

I'm late since I assume you wre referring to ND-USC and I don't post in this thread much anymore, but I feel the same way about my school's game this upcoming Saturday. TCU @ BYU. ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT. If my school can beat them then there are trap games at Wyoming and San Diego State and a home game at Utah left more/less to crack the BCS. If somehow all that falls into place I think my school passes Boise State to get in because BSU schedule weakens from here on out (minus an all of a sudden good Idaho team at 6-1 and Nevada to a certain extent). I'm not expecting a win this weekend though @ BYU. Not so much because they might have "revenge" on their minds when TCU blew them out last year, moreso that my school's offense can get manilla at times and is often known for stalling/shooting themselves in the foot when they get chances around the red zone. They don't finish out drives consistently enough. Can't always rely on their defense, even though the defense is one of the best year in/year out typically. Hopefully I am wrong.

Why are the Wings committing so many turnovers?
SouthernWingsFan replied to Icesurfer's topic in General
In the course of such a long season any team, good or bad, is going to have a hiccup here and there in the case of a blown lead. All teams also good/bad will play around .500 hockey in a span of just seven games as well. I'm encouraged though. The Wings were outplaying one of the better teams in the league at present more often than not. Plenty of time to finish teams off for an entire game, and while the roster is fairly differeent from recent years I see no real reason to fret about being in danger if missing the postseason despite a .500 record so far, etc. -
Well, since I'm nowhere close to being married, I'll choose single. Both statuses have their good and bad. Which 7-Up commercial is funnier... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poCYpb-88wQ OR

Nope. I celebrated being constantly busy and irritated yesterday, even though Sunday is supposed to be a day of relaxation. The person below me thinks this is amusing (turn your volume up a bit, audio is quiet for whatever reason on the video).

Plenty didn't like him while he was here too during most of his time. Sadly the "hate" list is probably much lengthier than a crowded line to a movie theater or club. Good for Samuelsson.

Plenty of teams play .500 hockey during a 6 or 7 game stretch of an 80+ game season, and often more than once... Some of these teams even make the playoffs the same season... The Red Wings in all likelihood will get out the funk sometime, then have a better record, just like most other teams... Then they'll eventually struggle again at some point in all likelihood, just like most other teams... Wake me up if they are on the outside looking of a playoff spot when it's closer to postseason. They haven't missed a playoff berth in 15+ seasons. I don't see yet why this season should be the start of it.
