Sure. Playing against a fast skater is pretty inconvenient and a pain the rear sometimes and is often tough to play against...

It can certainly make those players tougher to play against... Again there is more to hockey then standing up to people or getting into fights...

He's not the Maltby of earlier years now, but he was also pretty good at gridning, hard skating, and a big goal here and there even though offense was never really his forte. Those type of things can also make for a tough hockey player, along with playing good defense, skating fast, etc.

This team has made the playoffs for 15+ straight years and has the roster capable of making it another consecutive postseason. We'll see what happens then. Of course the team is going to be fine...

Who are these non-fighting fans? I sure can't find 'em. All I see are people who call the ones out who go off the deep end calling people wusses just because ZOMG they didn't fight this one instance or just crane kick somebody into submission. Of course. Yes it is an exaggeration, because there is more to the game than fighting or proving that you are manlier than somebody else like I previously stated. Other things in the game make you a tough player as well.

And you have to consider you bait people countless times with your posts in these endless and pointless arguments over and over and over again.

Because of the tone of the posts. Overdramatizations. You people that say people are cowards, have no heart, are ******* etc. are overexaggerating. The sport is not just a manly contest or proclaiming that I have the bigger fists (or objects 3 feet below them). Do I like a fight or standing up to people? Sure. But this isn't just about macho locker room bulls**t crap to prove who is the toughest or manliest. There are other parts to the game as well. Strategy, scoring, passing the puck, forechecking, etc. as well. Not just a manly contest. And just because somebody isn't always willing to fight or stand up doesn't mean he is a coward, and more often than not I'm betting these guys forget about these kinda things a lot easier than some of the fans. They probably don't care as much as you all do, and it's probably not as important of a goal for them in terms of winning, in terms of the Wings cases I guess. The Wings game isn't going to change anytime soon in all likelihood and when you've been a consistent winner for 15+ straight years and are a legitmate threat to make a deep playoff run every year, it shouldn't have to change all that much. It isn't necessarily a bad thing to walk/skate away sometimes. Saying that you will root for another team is another dramatization. You may not mean that you are completely abandoning the Wings or whatever but again, the tone of the posts suggests so. It also yields a large sense of spoiledness and being extremely nitpicky, given that the Wings have been so successful for over a decade-plus. That's why some of the complaints of "fighter fans" go beyond the deep end sometimes, and plenty of times in micah's case as well considering the responses he often gets from his posts portrayed by others, his posts often being of the obnoxious variety.

I don't want to mess with anybody that can use a blade effectively, whether it be with their arms or their feet.

I definitely wouldn't want to mess with a figure skater.

Well, he'd bring diversity for obvious factors and it'd be a cool story, but I'm more interested in seeing good players excel with the Wings and help improve their team, whether they are white, black, yellow, Korean, Japanese, English, Austrailian, you get the idea...

Here comes the food into the hangar! People are going to whine about Crosby until he retires if he keeps getting the attention he gets. Like Lebron James in the NBA, Albert Puljos in MLB, Tom Brady in the NFL, or Tim Tebow in college football, they may not do a whole lot of things that make you despise them 24-7, but all the attention given to them makes people not like them. Blame sports media for that. At ease.

Game 1 of the Wings-Blue Jackets series is on right now on NHL Network. I think that they are rebroadcasting games on a series-by-series basis so if that's the case it looks like Detroit-Columbus is up for the next few days.
