Plenty of teams would kill to have the Wings success the past two seasons, much less 1 of those 2 seasons. I'd rather come 1 win away from a Chamionship than not make a postseason at all, so I thank Hossa and the other players for giving it their all in getting the Wings as far as they did. You are acting pretty spoiled. Holland has certainly played his part, just like the roster on the ice, coaches, etc. He signed guys like Franzen and Samulesson and Zetterberg and re-signing Osgood to come back to Detroit over the past few years for example. All of them helped the Wings win the Stanley Cup two seasons ago and nearly again last year. So he has certainly done his fair share over the years.

I never said or implied that I have a fascination with Holland. You are implying that he is just scratching his rear end and that he is just downright awful from that post or that there is something just horribly wrong with the roster. When you've won a championship and just about won a 2nd, the current roster, even at a somewhat reduced state, isn't all that bad.

This team was one win away from a 2nd straight Stanley Cup. The roster is not all that bad. And I'd love for the Wings to re-sign Williams just to piss people off in here and overpanic.

Nobody is being an idiot or asshat in this situation. The agent has to do what the player tells him to do. Hudler is confused (I'm assuming). While nobody should blame him for wanting to get more playing time and money tax-free, the NHL is still the best of the best. I still think a part of him wouldn't mind playing in the NHL or the Wings again. With some of the previous Wings departed, probably could have more playing time here. The situation is what it is and I'm not surprised it is a bit delayed. If Detroit is able to re-sign Hudler, it is win-win. He's proved his worth so far and is more than capable of contributing for the Wings, or can be traded for future picks or hopefully a lower-tiered current NHLer or two.

Forsberg himself said he was all but done I think. I'm not sure his foot issues have even improve to the degree of skating competitively again. If he was healthy, without question I'd love for the Wings to sign him. But even though he's also stated it wouldn't feel right to play for Detroit because the rivalry b/w Colorado and the Wings was heated when he was there obviously.
