I highly doubt professional athletes post anything (or much) on a sports forum, generally speaking. They play the game and I think they' probably laugh their rear ends off with fans that make obnoxious and overdramatic posts.

When you are able to "flip a switch" for the most part from "being bored" in the regular season to playing at a high tempo in the postseason and coming up 1 win short, motivation isn't the problem. Sometimes you just get beaten no matter how hard you try or how motivated you are.

Whether people like it or not, Samuelsson was a steal for what he made here at just over $1.2M and often overproduced that amount. Did he always produce when it counted? No. But you can say the same thing for pretty much any player on the Wings right now during their current career, or any player that played in the playoffs and might have had an early playoff exit or cold spell. Any player good/bad is going to get cold streaks every now and than. Overall, he deserves his raise.

This journalist is incorrect. One just has to look at players like Henrik Zetterberg, Pavel Datsyuk, and Jonathan Ericsson as examples.

General consensus in here was that Pittsburgh fans were absolute retards in booing Hossa because he was just a playoff rental or for whatever other reasons and he went to a team that Pittsburgh dislikes right now. What happens now? Hossa goes to a team that Wings fans also hate to a certain degree as well. And of course plenty are acting like a bunch of whiney saps just like were making fun of Pittsburgh fans for. Ironic, hypocritical and very funny. Don't come back at me with Hossa was here for a full season instead of just a playoff rental. We all knew he might just be here for one season, a "rental" in a different type of sense. Fans are going to be fans for better and worse. This includes booing. Sometimes it's just something to do to be part of the crowd whether it is right or wrong, stupid or not, justified or not. If that is the only thing fans do, they could do a lot worse. If we are going to using booing alone to get on people's cases, Pittsburgh fans booing Hossa doesn't make them any better/worse fans. Nor will it be the same if/when Wings fans do it.

I'd just like for the Wings to re-sign Hudler just to piss some people off in here. And no, I'm not a Hudler slappy. I neither like/dislike him.

I love the irony and hypocrsy of some Wings fans on here. Pittsburgh loses to Detroit - a team they hate. Hossa goes to them. Wings fans think Penguins fans are mental retards for getting angry at Hossa for the reasons Hossa left and said they were oh so much better than Penguins fans. Hossa goes to Chicago, a team that Wings fans are starting to dislike a bit more. Of course, Wings fans go apes**t on Hossa leaving. It is very amusing. And don't even come back at me with, "Well Hossa was here all year, and was just with Pittsburgh for a 1/4 season!" We all knew Hossa might just be with the Wings for one year, a "rental" in a different sense. I hate that he didn't produce overall but he wasn't dragging rear end or not trying like some in here want to believe, and that doesn't change that he's still one of the better players in the league today. Some in here aren't better than Penguins fans like they claim. The hypocrisy is just very funny. Best of luck to Hossa in Chicago.
