What is your weird obsession with not liking Hudler more than other people? It is much easier to play armchair quarterback after the fact and after everything is over with.

Your grudge is unreasonable. 1 game. 1 game. Every player in any sport is going to have a bad game sometimes, no matter how good or bad they are, or if they are a superstar or benchwarmer.

Um, a span of like 5 games in the past 4 seasons is kinda hard to determine if somebody stinks or not when he's eventually going to be playing in the NHL full time in all likelihood. Too small of a sample size to fairly/accurately judge.

First with Conklin. I wish they'd re-sign him. I like the guy and he did great overall in splitting time roughly 50/50 with Osgood. You wander if Howard is ready for an increased role, not so much 50/50 but maybe something like where he gets 35-40% of the starts because Osgood is getting up there in age. For people saying that he's absolute junk, he's only played a minute handful of games in the NHL over the span of a few seasons. That's too small of a sample size to throw somebody to the curb. I'd prefer Conklin over Howard but hell, might as well give Howard his chance. I'm looking forward to it. With Hossa, I'd like to see him back despite the lackluster playoffs. Again, too small of a sample size, 1 playoff series (Pittsburgh series) or playoff season. Yeah it stunk that he didn't produce better in the playoffs but if we're going to criticize him for this (which I am not saying is not deserved), you can pretty much say the same thing for pretty much every other NHL player that played in the playoffs and didn't win a Cup if we're just limiting it to 1 season of play. Remember Datsyuk? He never had the greatest of playoff seasons but the organization stuck with him, and he was pretty darn good in 2007 and 2008.

Best of luck to Kopecky in hopes he gets a better deal. If it works out for him hopefully he gets some more PT and more of a role somewhere else. Wished it could've worked out better for him with the Wings in terms of production and injuries. Unlike many in here, I'm not going to be a dips**t and say good riddance.

I'd like to see them remain at JLA, in a remodeled sense in some fashion. I go to sporting events to watch games on the playing surface first, not marvel at neat amenities (even though they are nice). Just give me a building where the air temperature is managable and a place to use the restroom, and I'm happy (these are the few times where being a male over a woman has its advantages ). I went to a few Dallas Stars games here/there when I lived there for college and they used to play at Reunion Arena. Similar to JLA in that is was just a simple basic bowl shape with one concourse and two levels. That place could get loud QUICK. I liked it. Does JLA need a facelift? Without question. I hope they remain in it though.

I understand. Fairly simple to figure out. A 90 minute game, seperated into 2 45-minute halves, continuous clock (in most professional leagues). However, since there are whistles/dead balls/fouls, referees add for extra time at the conclusion of the 45 minutes. A judgment call obviously, so anywhere from 1 to even 5 or 6 minutes might be added on to a half. When the second half starts, the timer is reset to 45:00. The person below me can imitate South Park characters well.

A little disappointed as this probably assures Conklin leaving, I would've liked to see him stay. But, Howard is out of minor league options so I understand the decision, assuming it is true. While many I think have already thrown him under the bus, he's barely played much in the NHL. Too small of a sample size to accurately judge a player or a goalie I think. And it's not like he's going to be playing 70 games next season. Give him some time to play some more games here/there over the next few seasons then it's more accurate to say if he is NHL material or not.

This. Unless this was maliciously done, it's hard to justify roasting Sharp's head on a barbeque pit with any logic, it'd just be for "fun". I hate like everybody else on here that it happened, but we can't change that playoff game, he apologized after the smoke cleared and emotions have calmed down. Nothing more he can do.

I don't like Bettman but NHL exec do not run the league in conspiracy theories than some fans like to draw up. It is pretty far out there to think that Bettman purposefully has an agenda against the Red Wings or any other team out there.

Nobody is pissed off, and nobody will get pissed off if you give the Wings due credit. I like your optimism. I'm an optimistic person as well. Nobody in this thread at least is being negative or pissed off towards the Wings or throwing players under the bus, so there's no need to insinutate that people are or question their "fanhood". Injuries and other factors play an aspect in the outcome. Not excuses, just playoff hockey. C'est la vie. This doesn't diminish or taint the Penguins championship, nor does it make the Wings a sucky team. Penguins won, the Wings lost. Both teams should be proud of themselves.

I get it and have expressed in some fashion that I am proud of the team. Re-read some of the thread where I respond and you'll get it too. How do you know that no team in the world could not accomplish what Detroit did? You are just guessing and assuming again. Of course the Wings are the real deal. I don't think anybody is apologizing here. Nobody is being negative. We're just not making excusing and realize that injuries and tough luck and the other team playing just a bit better than you are all a part of the playoffs. Nobody is saying that the Wings suck or are throwing players ABC and XYZ under the bus. Again, we all think the Red Wings are the s**t. And good for the Penguins. That doesn't diminsh or taint their championship. Nobody is forgetting anything. You are so hellbent on stating why the Wings should've won or trying to validate how great they are you don't realize that injuries and tough luck sometimes are the breaks in the playoffs for teams that lose.
