May he be at peace in a better place.

I can be. I have my moments few and far between. The person below me thinks that O'Doyle rules.

Dubinsky calls Jody Shelly "a terrible hockey player"
SouthernWingsFan replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Oh yeah?! Well I'm rubber and you're glue! -
Fair enough. I apologize if I misunderstood you referring to "the best goalie in the league" more in general, vs. Pekka Rinne specifically, which it looks like I did. Not apologizing for saying you are biased towards Finnish players in general though (not that that's always a bad thing necessarily), you've shown that plenty in the past. When you mention Rinne and best goalie in the league in that reference even though I probably misunderstood, looks like bias is going to show a bit.
-
Entirely subjective on him being the best goalie in the league. That is your opinion, not a fact, so don't treat it as such. While I'm not dismissing that Rinne is one of the better goalies in the league, your bias for Finnish players is clearly showing here. And Howard beat him and outplayed him this last game since you asked the question.

The actual scrum in general isn't all that big of a deal, but it still makes them ridiculous hypocrites.

I never worry about that, because I'm good at doing that. The person below me thinks that I should try to fit myself into a locker for fun.

How'd Rinne do last game?

We've certainly seen worse (in general) than Crosby's incident last night, but even if he tries to justify something like, "Well this was a head hit in-between the whistles, I got hit in live game action", it still makes him a hypocrite. While I don't like him much to start with, I'll also get on people who just try to flame mentioning his name for the sake of it or I'll give him his fair credit when it is due. I don't have time to watch his every single move like other fans or media seem to, but assuming media in general is doing this, I honestly have no clue how they can just shun this aside and say it is from him playing hard or being intense. I'd be all for still having him as one of the marketable faces in the NHL IF (and IF being emphasized) he was marketed in equal time with some of the other stars that'll be in the NHL a long time. But the over-attention he gets in general and what probably will end up happening of this eventually getting shunned aside is just absurd. (And just to make it clear, even though I do not want to do this, I am not jealous of him whatsoever or want a Red Wing marketed obsessively as opposed to Crosby or whatever).

I'm not one that likes to rag on Big Rig or anybody in general for that manner in a whipping boy status. I easily know what's bad with him by just looking in here, and like most whipping boys he's not as bad as advertised. He drives me crazy though pinching in the offensive zone, especially whenever the Wings have a comfortable sized lead taking unnecessary high risk plays.
-
I see what you did there. Obviously very possible if he can keep this consistent play up. Mentioned in a recent Howard thread here that it could easily be argued that he could be the MVP of the team so far this season.

Wings reassign Brendan Smith to Grand Rapids, recall Brunnstrom
SouthernWingsFan replied to Aussie_Wing's topic in General
http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2011/11/red_wings_allow_expectant_fath.html URL should answer the uncertainty of this move. Primarily done so Brunnstrom can witness the birth of his first child. He's back/going back to the Griffins pretty much right after. So, guessing obviously that his wife is in a hospital in metro Detroit as opposed to the Grand Rapids area. Congrats to the Brunnstroms. -
No, I'm not actually. Why don't you relax.

Oh goodness... I was being sarcastic in that post pretty much poking fun at another poster (not you) who has an absurd Hudler bias ad is beyond stubborn. Scary stalker-like obsession absurd. I got zero against him and wish him to do well. Dynamic if you are talking about offensive potential or capability. Dynamic in other things, not so much. Better to just leave this be. You think highly of him which is fine. I do to a lesser degree.

Not really familiar with Canadian media/sports media practices in general, but you can probably just simply just say media is overhyping. Because it's the same way here with media on certain athletes whether it's the NFL or NBA, or political news, whatever. True I don't like Crosby much, but very little of it has to do actually with playing them in the Cup Finals two years in a row. I don't really get too much into sports rivalries/hating teams in that sense, I pretty much just want my team to win, it's Crosby's persona on the ice primarily that has been outlined by people plenty in here and I don't need to rehash again which I don't like about him, fair or not. So that gives fuel for people to say that we are "jealous" of him unfortunately, but it absolutely makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up when I or people get accused of that. Why the heck would I be jealous of his play? I already get that he's one of the best in the game today. Good on him. Some probably hate him because they simply hate Pitt or because we played them twice in a row. Cool, I perfectly get that. But pretty much with just about every person the dislike comes from the absurd over-emphasis he gets (and very few people here don't whine or be critical that a Red Wing should have attention more in the same scenario - just in general HE GETS TOO MUCH ATTENTION). Crosby probably thinks he gets too much attention. While I'd appreciate if I got such attention, eventually I'd just be like, "Okay people, let me go about my normal routine."
