And I'll answer again. Yes I think it is like that. Read the entire response instead of reading selectively. He himself may have made himself to look like a villain in the heat of the moment in those clips, but you specifically are implying that he's a villain and piece of crap years and years down the road when emotions are settled, whether it is your intention or not. That's going to get people to get on your case. Chelios had some bad traits of his game, but they don't completely define his entire game, just like any other player in the league. Stop reading selectively.

I've addressed your viewpoints. Others have addressed them. Plenty. Throughout the course of the year. In different threads. And you get roasted for these viewpoints quite often and continuously. Yet you either still do not get it or purposefully ignore the hints that your viewpoints are out of whack. Again, wake up. Yes I think some of these things are scummy. But when the guy that might have done these things in the past/present is in the uniform of your favorite team, for better or worse you'll be absent of some negataive bias from the fans. Kinda a Captain Obvious moment there. You making Chris Chelios out to be a villan in those clips isn't going to sway people in here, because a lot of the people on here are Red Wings fans. Donald Brasher isn't completely a P.O.S. despite some cheap shots, Crosby isn't completely a whiner despite the contrary, Chelios completely isn't a cheapshort artist, etc. Every player is going to have some not-so-great qualities. Doesn't completely make them villans or whiners or idiots all of the time. Saying that somebody sucked and shouldn't be remembered for his time with a franchise when he certainly had his good moments with that franchise is quite different than what you just said and is difficult to understand. If you would've said these things from the get-go, you'd probably be getting a lot less s**t from people. Obviously so. Because you keep getting hammered over and over and over again. That doesn't seem worthwhile or productive. Keep the viewpoints up though either here or in 3-d land, I guarantee you your responses will be very similar to the ones in this thread and people would be wanting to beat the snot out of you. And quite frankly I prefer responses other than ones thinking that I was completely obnoxious like you often receive. Cute.

You all don't know this. It's just guesswork and assumptions. The Wings were supposed to win game 4 of the 2007 WCF series against Anaheim with Chris Pronger being out, right? Advantage Wings, right? They didn't win that game. Stop making excuses. Wings had their chances just like the Penguins did regardless of injuries or scheduling and they didn't finish out. That doesn't make me any more/less of a fan than you. Save it.

Okay, good for you, and I'm glad they went past your expectations. I'm glad they made it as far as they did as well. That's great that you are full of pride, but don't let that pride be a cause of you attacking other members, like you've done multiple times in this thread when other members weren't being disrespectful to you (or even the team). Again, please show us where fans have said they disrespected the Wings for not winning the Stanley Cup now that the smoke has cleared and everybody is pretty much past the immediate emotions after a game whether you are either so happy or so angry. What's wrong with being a bandwagon fan? I didn't start watching much hockey until the mid-90s and started following the Wings in depth soon thereafter, not too long before they won a Cup in 1997. Does that make me a pathetic bandwagoner? Are you really listening to yourself right now? You get on people's cases for understanding the basics in playoff hockey that sometimes thems the breaks when the other team plays better or injuries are a part of life or whatever else, but you are coming up with any excuse imaginable, legitimate or not, of why the Wings should've won or to validate that they are still the s**t. Pittsrburgh still won though this time, and the Wings lost this time. No excuses, the Wings had their chances and they lost. The Penguins had their chances and they won. We all know they are still the s**t, despite losing, and despite the Penguins winning. They are our team.

How do you know this? Again the Red Wings deserve plenty of credit making it this far, but this is just guesswork and assumptions. The suspension would've happend in game 3. No bearing on games 6 and 7. Not a lot of us could probably get out of bed doing this. I think he gets this. You need to show some respect and not call people a**holes when they aren't doing anything to provoke or deserve being called one. Nobody is full of it. He's just recognizing the sitaution that injuries unfortuantely are part of the playoffs sometimes, and that you make your own breaks or take advantage of things when they are given to you. The Penguins did this. The Red Wings, while it sucked we had so many injuries, did not take advantage of a break having 2 chances to close the series out. Calm down and stop being so prideful to where it makes you attack others.

And regarding the couch statement, you can pretty much apply that to a majority of the members in here who probably haven't played hockey at highly competitive levels because of whatever reasons. Yes, the Red Wings deserve credit for making it as far as they did. The Penguins also deserve credit for winning the Stanley Cup. The Red Wings had 2 games to finish them off regardless of injuries or scheduling or what not. They didn't. It's not being ungreatful. He's just recognizing the situation and understanding it is what it is.

^ This. All of this. Do injuries play a factor? Without question. Does scheudling play a factor? Sure. You make your own breaks though an the Wings had 2 chances (with rest) to finish the Penguins off. They blew it. I love my Wings but they have nobody but to blame but themselves. No scheduling, injuries, or any media/Bettman bias that we might scream about towards the Penguins changes the fact that the Wings themselves blew it.

This doesn't drive people crazy. YOU drive people crazy with you ridiculous thoughts on fighting or standing up to people or god knows what else, this being one of those god knows what else examples. If YOU didn't have such ridiculous viewpoints where YOU alone stand, maybe YOUR posts won't get ridiculed so much. Multiple times in countless threads all throughout this season people have gotten all over YOUR case for YOUR viewpoints. I don't think people responding to YOU have the problem. 2007 when the Wings were eliminated by Anaheim in the WCF, he was pretty solid. And in 2002, give the scenario that he was a rookie with less playing time and less of a role on the team, I say he handled his own in limited playing time. So that's TWO or maybe THREE good playoff seasons. Not just one. This whole Datsyuk vs. Zetterberg comparisons about one carrying the other is absolute bulls**t. Yes they have great chemistry together more often than not. Yes they are two of the better players in the league right now. Why can't we just leave it like that? Why do some of to make one look good and put the other down?

Good to see you feel that way. Unfortuantely a lot of the Penguins fans that have been on here during and since the playoff series have been absolute nutjobs, and not in a good way. Sure I expect some smack talking here/there but a lot of them on here have just taken it completely overboard, a lot of posts basically similar to people creaming in their pants about how great Crosby or Malkin are and how they can convert water into wine somehow. Not knocking those guys whatsoever, I know how great they are, and I think the disdain for Crosby in here is pretty nutty at times (but that's a discussion for another time/place) just as bad as a lot of the Penguin fans. I don't need to hear that they or the Penguins are just oh so perfect. Especially not in a place where you know you are going to be perhaps not welcomed as warmly given the recent scenario. Yeah I'm still bummed about the Wings losing, but I'm not the bitter angry fan of a team that lost. In the grand scheme of things I don't really have anything against Pittsburgh (or any other team, except maybe Anaheim right now). And of course not all Penguin fans are like this obviously, but a good lot of the ones that have come on here lately have been pretty pitiful.

There was some lack of urgency I think the last two games, but that can be attributed to trying to play somewhat of a cautious game, not pressing too hard or not making easy mistakes. However, something I don't think you see much of here, is actually giving the other team enough/fair credit. People are so busy finding 500 different reasons why the Wings blew it or stunk it up that it doesn't seem like that there is any consideration that Pittsburgh actually played good defense/goaltending as well to neutralize the Wings attack. The Penguins also had something to do with the Wings not being able to seal the deal the past 2 games, not just injuries or lack of urgency or whatever. There might have been a lack of urgency, but if somebody insinuates from this that they don't care or whatever else, that's hogwash.

Both were emotional. Different sides of the emotional scale obviously but emotional nonetheless. If they weren't big names, wouldn't be getting this attention. When you are emotional your not as aware of things for better/worse. I'm not going to get on either case for tihs as it is just a handshake. A simple thing. If it weren't these guys, there'd be no story. There shouldn't be a story.
