This Team is Too Lazy at the Beginning of Games
SouthernWingsFan replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
The other team has something to do with this sometimes as well... It is impossible to realistically expect a team to play balls to the wall an entire game just taking people to school on the scoreboard or physically. I don't always like it just like everyone else but it's not possible. There are momentum swings in the game, the other team plays good, etc. Happens in all sports. -
Still don't like him much but I find it funny he made that late penalty call against Columbus which helped the Wings out.

Nah I feel fine. The person below me drives through red lights.

Fission sounds cooler. Toe or finger

Generally speaking, bad/missed/good calls eventually work themselves out for both teams involved. Officiating is always, always going to be inconsistent when human error gets involved. That's just natural and to be expected. If Blackhawk fans where whining about calls earlier in the series, they got their justice in the 1st period of last game.

Rule #1. Keep head up. Did it warrant a 5:00 major? That's pushing it, but I understand the reasoning. Did it warrant an ejection? Absolutely not.

There's another team out there playing too. Sometimes the other team plays good as well... -
Keep playing him and keep telling him to give the effort and do what he normally does to produce. He's going to do no good sitting on the bench...

While I agree with you that Crosby disdain is over the top in here sometimes (though I get why it exists), you nee to lay off the coffee.

Replace post with picture and you get the idea.

Crosby isn't perfect. Unfortuantely he does cruel stuff like hunt wabbits and Elmers when he should just be hunting ducks. All right that wasn't really funny. *shrugs*

"No Elite Goaltending Left In The 2009 Playoffs"
SouthernWingsFan replied to xtrememachine1's topic in General
Chris Osgood has won 3 Stanley Cup, 2 as the guy with the most PT in the playoffs. Nikolai Khabibulin has won a Stanley Cup. Cam Ward has won a Stanley Cup. Marc-Andre Fleury has been to a Stanley Cup Final. While all these guys definitely aren't the greatest goalies ever on the planet, to say there's no elite goaltending this year anymore is incredibly ridiculous. -
Osgood: The Prince of Darkness since 1979.

W/out. I don't like the concept of make up. Arm or leg

Kinda sorta I guess. The person below me wishes they were a ninja sometimes with a cool sword.

e=mc2 or PIrsquared

Not so much. He just needed to refine his game. Nothing more.

So big fans of a team that loses a game is complaining about referees or missed calls or conspiracy theories. Should we be surprised? No. Have Red Wings fans in here done the same? Plenty. Is there a referee conspiracy. No. Officiating is almost always going to be inconsistent. There will always be inconsistency when human error gets involved. Not too difficult to figure out and not really worth reading in-between the lines to me.

In this order... Chris Osgood Johan Franzen Nicklas Lidstrom Henrik Zetterberg Dan Cleary Mikael Sameulsson

Fan rants in a movie. Two sides here to me. (1) The Red Wings haven't bought a complete effort yet this series, and have still won both games. If this keeps up, it is all but over. OR (2) The Blackhawks bought as good an effort last game and Osgood stole a game for the Wings. Eventually that trend might change if the Blackhawks still bring it and the Wings don't bring their best the whole game, because luck/momentum could change, whatever. I'm leaning more towards #2 with the Blackhawks still going to bring it, but the Wings obviously won't just dilly around. While the Blackhawks have plenty of work to get back in this series, it is far from over. It can happen. Flames in 2007 and Nashville last year and in 2004 came back to tie series up 2-2. Kings did it in 2001 and Avs did it in 1999 to win 4 straight in a series. I know those are entirely different teams/scenarios, but just saying it can happen even though it might not happen this time. Cautiously optimistic is the attitude I'm taking. If the Wings can take a 3-0 series lead, I'll obviously feel a lot more at ease.

Smock sounds cooler. Circle or Square

I don't fish so no. The person below me has used the Force before.

Osgood is cool.

Hossa's looking good out there, he's busting his rear end off and creating chances. Before I get yelled at, yes I get they are paying him to finish off. It's not like he's dragging rear out there. I don't care how good or bad of a player you are, pretty much everybody is going to go on a cold streak at some point in a season. That's hockey. Unfortuantely for Hossa, he's on one right now. It'd be one thing if he was being lazy/sucking out there, but he isn't. See first sentence above. I appreciate the effort he's putting out there. It is noticable. If that's not good enough for some in here that will counter that he's paid to put points up, sorry, that's something we aren't going to fully agree on.
