Pittsburgh's ANGELIC game 7 performance
SouthernWingsFan replied to KronwallCRUNCH's topic in General
It's not a conspiracy when one team decides to just not play well in a game. -
I can handle losing. I can handle losing to the Ducks. The Ducks deserved to win more last night. You aren't going to win every game or every playoff series. I can even understand emotions going right after a game like they did last night. I do not tolerate intentional elbows to the head though or sucker punches like in game 5 of the Boston-Carolina series. That's not called for.
-
Only a 1-game series now? Who would've thunk that? *shrugs* It would've taken the Red Wings or the Ducks just completely stinking up the joint for this not to be a 6 or 7 game series.

Yes. The person below me sings for no apparent reason.

Dancing sounds more fun. Stool or chair

I know stuff happens after whistles and the game is emotional yadda yadda yadda, but you don't intentionally or even consider intentionally elbowing people in the head. That's just not right. A chicken-s**t move by Niedermeyer.

Yes.

I thnik you are overreacting just a smudge. Anyways, people good/bad go through cold streaks all the time. Unfortuantely Datsyuk is on a cold streak at the worst time right now. It's not like he isn't getting chances or not trying out there...

If the Wings advance to play the Blackhawks Pros - Wings have the number of any team coached by Joel Quenville - Wings have beaten Khabibulin in the past in the playoffs (1998 Phoenix) - Original-6 matchup, good for TV ratings in all likelihood Cons - Chicago has solid offensive pop and got to Luongo consistently when he's often deemed the best goalie out there - Just about every Blackhawk fan that's ever been affiliated with this forum has been a mindless troll, giving Blackhawk fans a bad name. Hopefully this would not be the case this time if the Wings advance, although I'm not getting my hopes up.

Nah. Happened to me just once back in college. The person below me sucks at doing chinups.

Good evening.

Lack of offensive depth. That is why the Ducks are losing. Getzlaf and Perry, and Selanne to a lesser degree, can only provide so much offense. They need support. And Hiller has done more than his fair share to give the Ducks a chance to win sans game 5. Other people need to net a few goals for them. That being said, this series isn't over yet.

The Wings have definitely have some bad calls against them in the playoffs in the past, but it is very asinine to say that referee publicity is directly (or even in directly) correlated to the Red Wings playing or doing them favors.

I don't think what Walker did merited a long-term suspenion, but it was a pretty out there cheap shot. I thought it merited at least a game or two.

Quoted for truth. This shouldn't be all that shocking. Hardcore fans get emotional whenever their team loses, especially in the playoffs. Losing and emotion typically means your thoughts and I.Q. go downhill temporarily. Lord know it happens in here plenty after a loss, regardless of if it was a hosejob call in game 3, near perfect officiating, just awful play by the Red Wings, or whatever. This isn't a brand new discovery and isn't exclusive to just the Duck boards only and Wings fans in here have been plenty guilty of making the same types of posts. Couple that with the Red Wings being a team that is universally hated by many fans like the Patriots in the NFL or Yankees or Red Sox in MLB, there are going to be more emotional/illogical responses whenever the Wings beat somebody.

I love Helm. But only as a friend. *shrugs*

Carnations. Stalagmites or Stalagtites?

Nah. The person below me has stuck their tongue out today.

Greg Goldberg or Julie "The Cat" Gaffney. *shrugs*

I was immediately worrying about any possible goalie interference call for that goal given how many ridiculous phantom interference calls the Wings have gotten against them. I understand the Ducks beef however. Flip the teams in this scenario and the Ducks score a goal like this, a lot of people in here would probably be screaming bloody murder though for an interference penalty.

:nonono: Holmstrom isn't counted on to drop the gloves. Just because he doesn't get in a manly contest doesn't mean he's a nancy boy, no matter how much you have dreams of every person in the world sticking up for others or throwing fists. Not everybody is going to in hockey, and that doesn't make them less manly or tough. Fighting isn't always smart or the end-of-all-end solutions. Get it through that thick skull of yours.

Happy belated! :beerbuddy:
