I've had zero problems so far with Charter Communications. Any games not on Versus or NBC have been on the NHL Center Ice/MLB Extra Innings channels without a hitch, as well as replays of the games. I've had a few MLB games, but they've never overlapped the NHL games. As for HD stuff, can't help out there as I don't have HD on my TV.

Penguins are the more marketable team right now whether it is right/wrong, fair/unfair. Unless Bettman/NHL marketing/NHL media go in a different direction with this, this is how it is going to be whether we like it or not. As for them showing the Penguins/Wings finals game, only Wings fans are going to get really upset at it and understandably so, but again, Penguins are the more marketable team. In terms of this specific commercial, there are worse things in life, so not too huge of a deal.

Horrible unemployment. An ailing economy. Tickets that are probably expensive for many people. Spending money on parking, food, drinks, etc. Pretty expensive, and hard to do these things if you don't have a job or have to cut back. Not that hard to figure out. I'm betting people still support the Wings regardless, it is just harder to do it from the $$$ perspective.

I have Charter down here and while I would certainly prefer the cable provider where I used to live due to a few other channels that Charter doesn't offer, I get NHL Network down here. And Center Ice has worked without problems the first two nights of the playoffs. Chicago-Calgary was broadcasted from the start on Center Ice, didn't have to worry about not missing it due to multiple coverage on Versus/joining in progress, etc. zata20, if you don't have NHL Network, you are S.O.L. unfortunately if you are trying to watch it at your house. My advice, find a restaurant/bar that carries NHL Network.

Last two years weren't a concern since all Wings games were either on Versus or NBC thankfully. I moved to an area last April with a different cable provider, Charter, and this thread made me do some checking again. I didn't get home tonight until around the beginning of the Vancouver-St. Louis so I didn't know if Center Ice was messing up or not but I just checked the channels and they were showing replays of Washington/New York and New Jersey/Carolina, so I got to assume they showed like normal earlier tonight. Hopefully this is the case tomorrow.

Because the team and the coaching staff and the organization is one of the best in the game right now and I'm not going to act like I'm smarter than them, because I'm not, and I'm not going to play anal armchair Monday Morning quarterback on what's wrong with this team when the playoffs haven't even started yet. Nobody knows how Kopecky and Maltby are going to perform overall if they are on the ice. Babcock/company could have easily said from the start that Leino is definitely playing and Maltby or Kopecky is out, but he didn't. Which could mean that he still might trust and have confidence in one/both guys, and might not trust Leino as much. If Babcock and company see it to be necessary to scratch Kopecky or Maltby, they'll do it. He's not going to scratch somebody though just for the sake of it or just to please you or the masses on LetsGoWings.com.

Right. I remember two seasons ago they joined a Wings-Flames game in progress in Calgary about 3-4 minutes into the game. Versus covers the playoffs pretty extensively with multiple games on the same night so for better/worse, these things will probably happen regardless of the team. I'm guessing they'll show the Wings-Jackets game in full since it is first then go to their 2nd game in the Blackhawks (?) I'm assuming. My best advice to plan ahead, watch it on Fox Sports Detroit if you can or find an online stream.
