I'll be at the game.
-
Spring break? What spring break? The person below me has locked themselves in the trunk of their car before.
-
Of course. But sometimes that's just the breaks. For me I just want the game to be available. Versus, ESPN, TSN, Fox Sports, the Food Network, TNT, CNN, I don't care what it's on, just be available somewhere to watch.

Ville Leino Recalled: As a Precaution
SouthernWingsFan replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
As much as I'd like to see Leino play, I'm all in support if coaching's decision if they decide to play Kopecky or Maltby over him. It wouldn't shock me though if they are on a short leash and the first people to go if the Wings struggle early. If that's the case, we could be seeing Leino sooner than later. -
Meh, what can ya do? Do I wish the Wings games were more on Versus and get a sniff/two on NBC to start? Of course. But, first/foremost there is more focus on the Eastern Conference/Coast and of course Pittsburgh/Crosby. Does it bother me that much? Not really, it is what it is, but I'm surprised a defending Cup champion doesn't get a little more pub and love, whether it is Detroit or not. I'll guarantee you though if the Red Wings were pimped as much as Pittsburgh/Crosby, there'd be no complaining as it is convenient that your favorite team is on national TV the most. In the grand scheme of things, the Wings have gotten their fair share of national broadcasts. Regardless of all this, fans in here are smart, savvy, and dedicated enough to find means necessary to watch their games, regardless of if it is on national TV or not.

I have no idea what the hell that says so I dunno. The person below me has stepped on the bottom of a rake before resulting in the smack on the face.

While I'm not going to be a downright homer and say the Wings are going to win it all 100%, you gotta be confident and optimistic. Yeah I've seen the games, yeah I've seen shady goaltending and shady defense from the Wings. However this team still knows how to win, and if they can play as consistent as possible for 60+ minutes, not many teams will beat them at minimum they'll make a deep playoff run. I'm very confident in them but also would not be shocked if they bow out early considering some troubles this year as well as it not being all that unusual for a high seed or two to be eliminated early.

If Datsyuk and Zetterberg are apart... Holmstrom-Datsyuk-Hossa Franzen-Zetterberg-Hudler Cleary-Filppula-Samuelsson Helm-Draper-Maltby If Datsyuk and Zetterberg are together... Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Franzen-Filppula-Hossa Hudler-Helm-Samuelsson Cleary-Draper-Maltby Lidstrom-Rafalski Stuart-Kronwall Lebda-Ericsson Give Lebda the slight nod over Chelios and Meech right now. If Lilja gets healthy, he's over Lebda in the depth chart.

Who hates the Wings over on ESPN, or how many people? And why is it if somebody doesn't pick the Wings to win a series or a game, or doesn't stroke their ego, they are all of a sudden a hater?

Fox Sports article not completely liking the Franzen signing - big sticking point obviously is length. http://msn.foxsports.com/nhl/story/9444898...1-year-contract?

Nah, got one of them at least. Hopefully both eventually. I like em both. The person below me picks their nose.

Hossa's agent hints about contract possibilities

That last sentence makes me feel all warm and tingly inside. I love that last sentence. -
Selfishly for TV viewing early, Columbus. I could go through all the reasons to prefer Columbus and not Anaheim as many are probably fearing about the Ducks, but plenty were probably thrilled to play Edmonton a few seasons ago to open the playoffs up and look what happened. So I'm not worried as much about who the Wings face or not in terms of that regard or style of play. You draw who you draw. If the Wings can play as consistently as possibly for 60 minutes (or more if needed), they are a hard team to beat regardless of the style of play they are playing against.

I ran in a 10K race today, 6.2 miles. I ran it in 54:29, about an 8:47 pace per mile. I'd like to run faster, but considering that I haven't worked out much lately due to work and some recent stress and the like, I'm not all that disappointed. The lack of working out though has made me gain a few pounds which I am not happy about. I sometimes weigh in at around 155 now and I'd like to get below 150 sometime soon. And for those who might be wandering or thinking that is slim/too skinny, I'm only 5'7" and you are formally overweight at that height starting around 160-165 pounds I think.
-
Kinda/sorta. For one the position in the playoffs right now is staying put. And two, the Wings rarely have to worry about making the playoffs from day 1 so I usually don't get too up in arms about regular season stuff. The person below me has taking a nap in clean warm laundry before.

Hehe, no playoff beard or anything for me. I could probably get away with it for some lengths of time at my job if I'm not at an event or client site or big formal meeting or whatever, but I've never had a beard before and I haven't sported a goatee in probably over 3 years. And I can easily have a pretty good grown beard if I don't shave for 3, 4 days. I grow facial hair fast. But it would be impossible not to scratch at it, it's going to itch, the same thing always happened when I tried to keep a goatee for some time. I just hate the itching. So I'm going to be lame again and be clean-shaven.

Whoever the team is to match up against, bring them on. Shouldn't be scared just because we might play a certain team over another. Nor should there be overconfidence as any team is capable of making a deep run regardless of where you are seeded. I'd personally like not to face Anaheim cause that'd mean late nights watching, but that's my own selfish reasons. If the Red Wings play like they are capable of for 60 minutes reducing their brainfarts, they are hard to beat, whether they play a team with more skill/lack of size or a team of big guys.

I'm all for it being a 3rd jersey. Fairly simple but it still stands out. Problem is though I think pretty much all 3rd jerseys in the league right now aren't white. Don't know if that makes much of a difference/not.

Controversy. Debate. Raising the ire of fans or viewers/listeners. That's what pretty much any/all analysts eventually have to do, even if they are pretty much dead-on incorrect. Nothing different here in terms of what Cherry said. That being said, while it humors me every time to see Cherry's fashion apparel, I'm getting tired of hearing or reading about him being over-opinionated for whatever reason.

No, but probably because I am male. The person below me gets agitated by Mexican food.

Wings are "stuck" right now more/less in their playoff position. There are going to be times when you're going to tread rear end in games this time of year, or lose games, in this position to teams that are fighting for their playoff lives. They didn't really tread rear end in last night's game, but hopefully you get my point now. They've lost a few of these games, won some as well. You wish you can play perfect or a high tempo all of these games or 100% of the season, but like any other job that's not possible. It just is what it is.

Playoffs start on April 15th, so it'll probably be that day or Thurs. April 16th. I got tickets to Round 1 Game 2 and am in the same scenario more/less. Thankfully I've worked at the company I am at long enough to get a 3rd week of vacation time so I don't have to worry about wasting limited vacation days.
