Yeah!!! Seriously, for me personally, I don't care one way or the other about ice girls. I personally go to a sporting event to watch the game on the playing surface first and foremost. All the other extra fluff and entertainment is a bonus to me. That being said, I'm just one idiot and know that my train of thought on this is probably in the minority. I have nothing against the concept of ice girls whatsoever in terms of trying to spark entertainment or ticket sales or whatever else, whether your team is "traditional" or not.

A bit on the homer side, but his team has certainly staked their claim this season (SO FAR) as one of the best teams/the best team. Can they finally make a deep run when it counts though? We shall see. In terms of not wanting to play certain teams, can't worry about that. You play who you are going to play and there can't be any fear or worry of who you play when it comes.

If everybody is healthy, here's the pecking order I'd like for the 3rd-line defense. Lilja Ericsson Lebda Chelios Meech Almost a 50-50 split with me on Lebda and Chelios. I just think that Lebda's speed on defense is just slightly more valuable than Chelios' leadership and the like at age 47. And it's not like the playoffs is a brand new thing for Lebda. Meech I'm indifferent about.

Put any goalie good or bad in front of the Wings defense playing subpar this year, I think it is a good bet that their stats take a turn for the worse. I don't care if it is Luongo, Kipper, Cloutier, Osgood, or Legace. Would the numbers be as bad as Osgood or Conklin? Who knows. But the defense hasn't helped the goaltending cause that much this year. And before people chew my head off, yes I realize Osgood and Conklin haven't done their bit at times this year as well.

I think people understand this concept, it's kinda a given so it's not mentioned much. What's your alternative then if Osgood isn't a capable #1? Call up the minor league goalies with no playoff experience? You can't make trades right now. Conklin has just seconds of playoff experience and hasn't been the better of himself and Osgood lately. Osgood has extensive game playoff experience both good and bad. He's been the better of the two lately. Unless he just treads dirt these next few games off the face of the earth, he's the team's best choice for goalie. What do you propose then?

I'd like to believe you in saying that the defense has been fine. Both the goaltending and the defense have a lot to be desired for. Maybe you shouldn't post while drunk. Just some advice.

Same might have been said about Cam Ward years ago before the playoffs. Look what happened then... If you alraedy know what's going to happen and are already going to be disappointed, why are you even wasting your time watching?

Because the regular season and playoffs are two different seasons. Cam Ward for the Hurricanes is a perfect example when they won years ago. Didn't play well in the regular season, played well in the playoffs. Carolina won. Just one case scenario, all cases are definitely different, a situation like this doesn't happen much, but it CAN happen.
