Plenty of people have hated Bowman over their careers when he was their coach, I'm sure the current Wings brass dislike Babcock sometimes. The same things can be said about pretty much any/every coach who works their players over hard at some point in time. I know I know, we've won Cups, Commodore hasn't, etc.

I will re-stress. These things eventually sort themselves out. There wasn't much of a "set in stone" starter between Osgood and Hasek last year either at this point, nor towards around the end of the season. Both got same amount of games. This team is making the playoffs. There is still plenty of time to tinker around with the goalies well before toward when the end of the season comes around. Osgood and/or Conklin will still likely have a clunker of a game or two before the season ends as that is a part of an 80+ game season. They also have a good bit of more chances to play around the top of their game. This stuff eventually sorts itself out like last year, but it is probably going to happen later rather than sooner. This team is still making the playoffs in spite of this. No need to fret too much about this yet then.

This team is making the playoffs despite this snafu. Everybody has snafus during the regular season. I'll worry if they look bad in the playoffs.

Sorry, Osgood had little/no chance on any of the goals given up tonight. Changing the goalies was less on Osgood tonight and more on spaarking the team. That being said, we're stuck with the goaltenders we got for better or worse. And I am fine with that if the Wings can play close to a complete 60 minutes of a game as possible. You don't really need the goalies to come up big then. As for the goalies themselves, it'll work itself out a lot like the Osgood-Hasek tandem last year. Probably will be a lot like that to close this season out in all likelihood.

I rarely blame referees for losses to my favorite teams, and am not doing it for this game either. I don't think the referees overall or NHL has it out against the Red Wings and I don't look for conspiracy theories why the Red Wings are being disrespected. That being said... I'm not familiar with a whole lot of the officials, but does it seem like O'Hallaran is the only one who makes these phantom interefernce calls? I usually don't get all up in arms about officiating but this is what, like the 4th or 5th time this has happened to Holmstrom? And he's the only one that seems to make these calls? It is very frustrating.

This team is not incompetent enough to snag so far downward. The Wings are making the playoffs. Talk to me in April if they have an extensive losing streak then.

It is easy to hate a winner or a team that is usually good. Nothing more/less and it is nothing to get in a hissy fit about really. And every team will get away with stuff or "cheating" when the fans of the opposing team says so. Every team cheats then more/less. Not much to really see here or read in between the lines.

A phantom interefernce call also contributed to the cause as well............. Would I like to see Downey in the lineup more? Of course. Am I going to lose sleep if he isn't? Probably not. I appreciate his work ethic and energy for the extremely limited amounts of time he has out there, but I think his type of role or the role of enforcing isn't as important as other parts of the game. To the hyper fight or enforcement fans I will repeat: I don't think it is AS important as other parts. I never once said or will say that type of stuff is completely useless. Nobody in here is going to change my mind on this, nor am I going to change the mind of giant fight/enforcement fans, so I'm just leaving it at that.

I highly doubt people are afraid of standing up to Lemieux. These are big boys, professionals. They know how to take care of themselves. Never say never of course but having Downey in or out of the lineup will probably not change much in regards to Lemieux himself when San Jose comes over soon. I'm not holding my breath for any gigantic fireworks or a game to go out of control compared to your ordinary regular season game.

Come on guys, let's be honest here. Of course there was bad blood between Detroit and Lemieux/Colorado in the late 90s. But in 1999 when Coloardo eliminated Detroit, nothing bad/bloody happened between Lemieux and the Wings. Not after when he had stints in New Jersey, Phoenix, and Dallas. Do you honestly believe that something dramatic will happen now with Lemieux in "targeting" Wings 11 years later when nothing has really happened regarding that since 1998? I know he's easy to hate, and I could definitely be wrong, but if you are expecting crazy stuff to go down with this when the Sharks come to town are going to be disappointed I think.

As bad as work was yesterday, I almost always look forward to going to work. Today won't be as bad as yesterday. The person below me has ran into a fence or a pole or a tree or some other object recently due to lack of looking.
