Would love him to have more outpout but a 6 game sample size out of an 80+ game season is too small to raise sirens about when he's roughly a point-per-game player through the course of a season.

Lame indeed. While I definitely see the value in DirecTV (i.e. certain stations - the college I went to has a good bit of their games broadcasted on a conference channel - Similar to Big Ten Network and only on DirecTV), more and more when I have read stories like these the past few years, makes me glad I just use local cable/digital network. I couldn't get satellite TV partially because of too many tall trees and partially because my house is attached with 2 other condos, and Charter Communications is no saint either and I've had problems with them in the past, but no dramatic issues even close to coming like this. They finally added NFL Network this year, a local sports station here, they've always had NHL Center Ice (which I used once before switching to cheaper/online streams), and I don't watch much TV outside of live sports anyways so more often than not it gets the job done for me.

If you are trying to be too cute or doing the same thing over and over again and it isn't working, something needs changing. I don't care how they do it as long as it works sometimes. And good news is they are still winning, so they have the flexibility somewhat to experiment.

Big Rig's been fine. Nothing outstanding, but far from whipping boy status people often get with him in here.

Line combos change all the time for any team to try to bring wins. That's what coaching is about. As for Holmstrom since he was largely mentioned, he's somebody who still can bring a lot of usefulness on the PP and perhaps a first or second line if he's ever back there on a consistent basis, but he's obviously going to be done sooner than later. Picture Larionov in his final years here, still obviously very useful as well with playmaking and offense and such. I think I remember a good bit during the 2002 Cup season he was scratched on the 2nd game of back-to-back nights for rest and such (granted the team had that luxury being on top of the standings all season). I don't think he'll be scratched consistently, but this probably won't be the first time he will be scratched.

The Louisiana Superdome down here where the Saints play recently got a name change, the Mercedez-Benz Superdome. I am assuming like locals here wanting a sponsorship with a local company like Ford or perhaps Little Casears Arena (if possible) et al, I would've loved if the Superdome would've been sponsored by a local company (Entergy is an energy company that is the only Fortune 500 company down here), but I'm not going to lose sleep over it. Corporate names on arenas and such has been going on for a while now. I'd like just regular names as well, keep things nostalgic and traditional, but there are worse tragedies in life. And as stated above, corporate sponsors bring in business benefits that don't really need to be repeated.
