He's among the team leader in points and I'm just outside of the top-10 in goals. What more do you want or are looking for? If I'm in a crashing plane, I hope I'm not sitting next to you.

Averaging roughly a point per game seems to fit for pretty good consistency.

Consistent success and a fan base that acts spoiled, generally speaking, makes it an easy fan base to hate. EDIT: I know all Wings fans aren't like this, but the attitude certainly isn't new. Me personally, and this goes for any of my favorite teams, I don't really hate any other team in the NHL or NFL or colleges and such. I know that hating other teams and all that stuff can be fun and I don't mind good-natured ribbing as long as it is done in fun and not taken seriously, but I've seen so many instances where fans take this stuff so overboard that it makes them sound ridiculous, which is why I don't like to passionately hate another team and such. You like who you like and that doesn't make you any better or worse of a fan/person than me or anybody else.

And vice versa. Datsyuk had moments as well where Zetterberg made him look good as well. Both had their fair share of moments helping each other out on the same line. Though I understand and still continue supporting them being split up on different lines right now.

Nope on that. The person below me thinks that "chunt" is a funny-sounding word.

12/27 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Avalanche 4, (SO)
SouthernWingsFan replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
To make SeeinRed happy, the Wings will go into the 1st period intermission with one of their customary 14-3 leads, and to make SouthernWingsFan happy, the Wings are going to win this game by 10 touchdowns, just like every other game. -
Just like everybody else! Lollygaggers they are I tell you! In all seriousness, he's currently averaging just a shade under a point per game. That is still pretty darn impressive if you ask me. Every player, I don't care how dominating they might usually be on the ice or stat sheet or vice versa, will have dry spells every now and then.

I've only been to NYC twice in my life so I'm definitely far from an expert, but both times were during fall/late winter so it was during hockey season, and both times when I was there the Wings were playing. Both times I tried watching the games at ESPN Zone. One time they put the Wings game on a little ways in the game after another game concluded I think, without any special requests or anything like that. The second trip and second time I tried and requested it was a no go, due largely to a big crowd there and just so much on TV that night, so I wasn't going to bother pushing harder to put the game on. That place is an option and you might luck out sometimes, perhaps go to the NHL Store there and ask them, see if there are any good spots to watch games or that has NHL Center Ice packages that might be less crowded than ESPN Zone.

Sure, I guess, even though I am the same gender. The person below me has yelled out feces instead of s**t in frustration (and humor) to surprise everybody around them.

Ain't that the truth, and sometimes that isn't a good thing... You could take a straw poll of fans of other teams and the Wings would probably rank right up there for one of the teams you hate most because the Wings are consistently good and the fan base can overall easily act spoiled given the recent run of success.

Holmstrom lives close to the North Pole, Wings run a PR Christmas campaign where Holmstrom is the focus, Holmstrom has a Santa hat on, players give him Christmas lists. Just connecting those dots it is easy to see that he works for Santa Claus.

One of only 3 teams right now with 50+ points, for now they definitely are. However we've definitely had our fair share of teams that finish high in the standings in the regular season and flake out earlier than expected in the playoffs as well.

Anyone Going To Nashville for Fridays Game ?
SouthernWingsFan replied to 2probert4's topic in General
I am definitely going to the game at Nashville in late February. Definitely looking forward to watching the game and checking out a new arena, looking forward to exploring a new city as well for a day or two. -
Nah, I ate plenty today at parties and I got plenty of food in my house so no problems there. The person below me wanders when the hell they are going to finally see Santa Claus fall down their chimney to bring presents and is just as upset as I am not seeing him. For nearly 30 years I've heard that this character drops down your chimney and delivers presents to you on this day, but I never get to see him on this day! I want to see him! Yes, I'm done with my silly rant.

Bah, Christmas sweets and chocolates and the like are always going to be everywhere I go, and it was the case again this year. I love eating and I love chocolate just as much as exercising so I'm going to scarf good stuff up especially around the holidays. Got to enjoy the foods I like. My only problem right now is I've started getting into eating sour cream chips again. Baked so they are a little more "healthier" (), but damn they are tasty. Need to stop buying these from the grocery store. I put on some holiday weight as well but nothing astronomically terrible, just want to lose about 5 pounds or so, but am in no rush to do it since I know I will eventually since holiday eating and holiday chaos in general is now over and I'll be getting back to working out more consistently now that it is over.

Anyone Going To Nashville for Fridays Game ?
SouthernWingsFan replied to 2probert4's topic in General
I've been to Memphis once about 6 years ago. I only remember seeing the downtown area and the Liberty Bowl stadium, was there for the bowl game that year. Wish I could've spent more time there but from what I saw, I liked. I've never been to Nashville before so a large part of me possibly going to the Wings game there is to just see and explore a new area I've never been in. I try to go to one new place every year for vacation and to see stuff. -
I probably do since I'm still a bit giddy from a FUN night last night. The person below me has dunked somebody in a garbage can before.

Not going to that one, but am considering going to their match-up in Nashville in late February I think, Nashville is only about a manageable 7-8 hour drive from where I live. Although going to this one would make more sense since I already am on vacation until Monday.
