Easy sparky with the personal attack there. We're allowed to make mistakes. And a point is a point is a point, shouldn't and it doesn't matter how you get them. Points help with confidence and contribution. What do you expect Cleary to do, just pick his nose or crouch down in a fetal position in the other goal and say, "Hey guys, I don't feel like playing anymore, the heck with me even attempting to get points, I just want to hang out inside the net, why don't you guys take the puck and pass it to the other guy to score. That sounds jolly good!" You know how ridiculous that sounds, and how silly you sound by knocking him for not getting points with style or properly? -
Hell no! *Chubbs Peterson style* The person below me has gotten into a food fight recently.

Lines are going to be changing, no matter what team you are. To win the Stanley Cup, you need good coaching. The Wings recently won a Stanley Cup. They have good coaching. -

*Now having terrible flashbacks* Which is why I like to talk about goaltending as very little as possible as the nutjob level of Wings fans goes beyond nutty in regards to this subject. -
Nah, if I ever did that it'd be because it wouldn't work and I'd aggressively beat it up. The person below me has yelled COWABUNGA recently.

At ease. The member you quoted said he/she was a Sharks fan, coming from an outside perspective other than a Wings fan. Perhaps more than just a few Red Wings fans might actually think this. Relax. Deep breaths. Take a sedative. Have a beer. No need to be disrespectful to fans of others teams on here when those fans aren't trolling are starting s**t. And I also like watching other sports as well as hockey, which includes basketball, so I'm sorry if that is such a crime against toughness.

In terms of his play, yes, he's dirty. I've never really heard or seen anything to the contrary where he acts like a total jackass off the ice or with media or fans. I hate the dirty play but he seems like a low-key guy, easy guy to hang out with over a few beers or some lunch or whatever. Him and perhaps Tootoo are two guys I really look down on in the league, yeah I'd be like "What the f**k" just happened if the Wings signed Pronger, but the logo on the front of the jersey is more important than the last name of the back of the jersey, so it wouldn't be all that bad to me and I'd deal with it, given that he is a helluva defenseman despite his dirty antics.

Is Stuart the best hitter in this league?

Considering I've never worn them before (I think ), I'd say yes. And this is a dead giveaway that I don't know squat about clothes/fashion. The person below me has lost their lower wear (on accident of course) in due to running too fast or too much.

Pens fans trying to knock redwings outa Allstar....

I get the same thing more or less with college football rivalries down here almost every year. This year LSU football fans just obnoxiously over-obsessed with Alabama coach Nick Saban (coached at Michigan State then to LSU than to the NFL then to Alabama). Alabama is a rival per se to LSU but it's a joke how LSU fans think he is a traitor for going to Alabama when he did it from the NFL, not straight from going to a rival school. Anyways, well off topic already with that, my point is I get my fair share of sports annoyances also but I rarely let the extra fluff attention like that get to me. Waste of time getting heartburn over it. You learn to tune that stuff out and just watch the games. -
No. And before I get grief from the ultra fight/enforcer slappies that might exaggerate that I want to see a bunch of figure skating out there, I understand the role of an enforcer. I get it. I think they serve a purpose and are still useful in the game today, to a certain degree/percentage. Are they helpful? Without question. Could we use one in the lineup? Sure. Is it of the utmost importance to have one in the lineup on a daily basis given the current roster and makeup and mentality of the team? Probably not. This team is not the soft team that was known from after the 2002 Cup win to the season to where they got eliminated in the playoffs early by Edmonton. Sure, a way to beat Detroit is to play more physical, but I don't understand what else has to be proven by them that shows they don't back down from anybody and rarely get intimidated. It all started in the 2006-07 playoffs and still holds true today. This team is not soft, they have a coach that will not let them go soft in Mike Babcock regardless of if they do or do not have extra knuckles in the lineup. They serve their purpose yes, but the value of them in here has been overblown a million times in here it seems. I certainly wouldn't mind one but I'm not going to lose sleep if no enforcer is in the lineup on a regular basis.

I highly doubt they are trying to dilly around out there for grins and humor. I don't like the whole Stanley Cup hangover/less motivated because you already won mentality bit, but on the other side of the coin there because you won it all, the other team is going to give you their best effort at least just about every game. Games will probably be more competitive for the Wings this year compared to the last few, at least in terms of opponent intensity/want.

I can say the exact same thing about Wings fans hating the Penguins. It's probably directed less towards the Penguins team and more towards a select few from their organization, but people here take the hatred of those few way off the deep end as well. -
Oooooooh! Happy learned how to putt! Uh-oh! Sorry, I rarely post in the post everytime you look thread and this line has been stuck in my head lately so the moment was just there for the taking.

Actually, I have once, albeit just 1 or 2 inches of it. It actually snowed down here on Christmas 4 years ago. And it's snowing down here today. It snows down here like once every 35 years so I'm a little excited. Nope. The person below me has conked their head before attempting to do a handstand.

Meh, pretty much all all-star games now in any professional sports league are popularity contests. Would I like to see 10 Wings in the all-star game? Sure. But the game doesn't count for anything and you risk injury in a game that doesn't mean much in the grand scheme o things. If somebody responds with what about the preseason, you got some similarity in that of course, but preseason while meaningless in record/stats does help you get ready for the regular season. All-star games are just that, all-star games. They don't really serve the purpose of getting ready for the rest of the regular season or playoffs. They are just, there, more or less. I'm not against the concept of all-star games whatsoever, it's fun of course and I'll watch it, but I'm not going to cry over spilled milk if fans of other teams outvote the Red Wings or Red Wing fans or only 1 or 2 Wings get in over 5 or 6. If they want their guys to be more popular, let them have at it. -
Ouch. Seems like a pretty freak accident. Hopefully Sakic gets better sooner rather than later. And some people in here have taken a little too much a'hole juice today regarding this situation.
